Nothing really fancy, just blocking out some animation and figuring out lighting, textures, etc. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbxnOFebxWc Here a little info: Still working on V9.5, still facial capture by hand (at least for the basic blocking of the animation), very basic materials. I hate the first scene (too "noisy") second one is pretty good, third is alright, fourth I just started and very rough and final is just a test. It really all is just a test at this point. Please let me know what you think and would do differently. and here is a still render (Lent starts soon) God bless ya'll!

So...I made a new sword. All comments are welcome- Robert P.S. does anyone know how to get something like this to stay in the hand of a character when animating. Some kind of constraint maybe...? Thanks!

I'm almost finished with renovating an old unpublished headmodel of myself . This was an nice texturing exercise and an exercise in modeling something non-mechanical I do not like the texture on the ear at the moment. Hopefully if I find the time in the near future I'll try to rig the face and try to do an lip-sync Comments and crits are highly appreciated Regards Stian [attachmentid=13888]

So I had to recently do an illustration of an old computer for dayjob's corporate newsletter. For looks' sake, after hunting around for reference pics, I went with a Commodore PET (but with a CBM's keyboard--I wanted the Selectric-type keys). Modeling time was around 8ish hours (even though I might never use the model again, just in case, and for learning purposes, I modeled all the recesses for the holes in which the keys and tape drive are placed--I stopped short of modeling the back, however). This is what I came up with: Next, I played with various camera angles and rotations until I found the angle I was looking for. Since this was going to end up as a…

I had the idea for quite some time now, but now i finaly found the time to model, texture and reigg at least the caveman. There is still some work to do, but it is going in the right direction. To set up this caracter, modelling, texturing and rigging (Setupmachine) took me about 2 days. What do you think guys? Cheers, Heiner

The Dark Skull Productions team, Rich Jackson and John Hubickey have been working on the "TekNu" Project Sentinel character over the past couple of days and we want to share a high quality rendering. This character will be one of the bad guys in the upcoming "TekNu" mini sci-fi movie project. { warning, image 1.6 meg. 3900 x 3900 px } The Sentinel is approximately 10' to 12' tall, menacing, fast, and will do as commanded. Driven by the Core computer of the mechanical planet, the Sentinel is the robotic workhorse and will perform tasks such as moving heavy equipment, sentry duty and even destroying or killing anything or person the central computer finds a t…

here is a screenshot of what im doing. I am making a animation music video of the song We Will Rock You. i have the lead singer guy in the front and the back five sing the We Will, We Will Rock you part. i am editing the sound to make it sound funnier so it sounds like litter creatures. well another thing would be if this is legal or not. but what i want to know is if there is a way to have a bunch of the little creatures doing a head bob during the whole song using sprites or something to make it easier or something.here is what i got... i want to make the whole thing in the back filled with those guys easier than having to drag and drop all the models and place th…

Hello, all. I'm in the early stages of modeling a set for a short piece I'm working on, but I'm getting some strange artifacts that I can't seem to shake. I based my volumetric settings on this thread ( http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3994 ), but I don't seem to be getting the same quality of render. Number one issue is the sharp diagonal banding on the light shaft. I've set my klieg width to zero, as instructed, but no dice. It's not the "quality" setting in the volumetrics, either--even at 99999%, the banding is as sharp as ever. Number two is the missing shadows behind the urinal pipes. What happened to them? Is it because of the Z-bu…

I will post more info after I start making more progress. For now this is what I get when I fool around with the sweeper plugin after 5minutes of modeling, SSS, and AO. I recommend opening this image in Photoshop and viewing at 100%. There is some fine texture like detail generated by SSS that can only be seen at full res. On a side note I got that 010 error and it took raising the values in SSS to work around it. www.hdjibguy.com

I started this character a month or so ago but quit working on him when I bought a G5. It seems AM and OS X 10.3 have a conflict that prevents me from rendering in a window. Maybe I had multipass off... that caused issues a while ago. Whatever, I started working on him again the other day and gave him a hand, arm and hair. The hair is controlled by a decal (which needs some refining) and I should model him a proper ear and shoes. There's about 10 minutes of work in the hair so I'll at least post some more images as that part comes along.

I'm still really new to Animation Master, but so far, I've gotta say it's a really really fun program. I haven't posted anything in this forum yet, but I've just been messing around with various things, trying to learn my way around, and here's some of the stuff I've come up with. Hi! Been a while since Ive done anything major in A:M. So I wanted to once again expand my modeling skills. So to do that I decided I want to model my camera (At least my digital one ). My camera is a Canon Rebel XT. The lens I will model with it will probably be my Sigma 15-30mm F/3.5-5.6, which is a big lens. Eventually I want to model all my camera gear (Film cameras, all my lens, flashes, tripod, etc). I just started the process, the model is in its very rough stages right now: I will post an AO render when there is enough to look good Photoman

I've searched through the manuals looking for info on how to access Alpha Channels, but nobody says much more than it can be done. When I get the tanks going, I want several attack-choppers to sweep in shooting. I want motion blur on the rotors, but not in the whole scene. I figured to turn off everything in the scene, leaving only the turning blades, run the anim., then turn off the rotors, run again, and composite in Premier. But where do I go to get Alpha Channel mode?

Hi, Many have seen these models before but… here they are again. Using Bill Young’s ‘Model a Face’ CD from Anzovin Studio, one model was based on my face and one was based on my daughter’s. Mine could be a little better, my daughter’s came out pretty good. Both heads are rigged using one of the first face rigs presented in the AM community; Shawn Freeman's as shown on one of the AM SIG Pro Training sets. On one, you can see that I've overlaid the 3D face control setup from an early version of the Squetch rig. Latter images show both the models in scenes from my current project. Comments welcome, Rusty

d78c5e599c2a9c9d0bbd Man, I think I am guilty of NOT using AMFilms the way I should be... I just gave it another look, and it is pretty sweet. This is a test to see if the video shows here in the forum. Any A:M users in the Detroit/Lower Michigan area who are sports fans (Red Wings, Tigers, Pistons) have seen this spot to DEATH... it airs SO frequently. This is MY version of it... before the editors and sound effects guys did their work on it. I had 3 days to do this :30... a :15 and :10 versions as well. I was not present on the shoot, and the little girl did a wonderful job of 'dictating' where the Tireman character should be. There was lots of challenges with i…

This is my first attempt at a humanoid model. It's intended for a training video. My rationale for creating a crystalline skater was to make the lines and outline as clearly visible as possible (I also thought it would be easier. I don't think it was. I'll have to model a realistic character to know for sure.) He'll eventually have hands, eye balls, and ears (I hope.) I'm posting him as is because I have several specific concerns, but I would appreciate any and all comments and suggestions. 1) I wanted him to be interesting and well defined, but not too distracting or grotesque. What's your initial impression; is he just too weird? 2) I've inclu…

Hi Hashers Well after a two months of waiting the waiting is over, sadly I didn't make it to 'The Finalists' sob, sob... Still I did put this flick together rather quickly and I spent only six weeks of spare time on it but the other entries were very good. Here's the link: BBC New Animator BUT! Hello Been such a LONG time since I've had time to work in 3d and post here..but here I go again. I've put a hold on my bunny character (snowball, dont know if you remember her) and began this new character for a small client. Instead of my normal 2D work I've been asked to create a nice little mascot for a logo in 3d for possible animated introduction and stills. This is my progression so far after about 2 -3 hours work. I'd love to hear some critiques in terms of my spline placement or anything else... The character is to be a stylized mouse, slightly cartoonish, and realistic blend. I plan on adding fur to him later. Thanks

I made this a couple of days ago just to try out pose-to-pose animation for the first time. It was a kinda messy attempt, but I learned some from it and hope to use the experience in my next attempts. I'm mainly looking for suggestions/critiques but comments are always nice too. Oh, and its rather rough too... I was just trying to catch the broad motions. Thanks!, --Ross wtw3.mov

I rendered this scene with v13 r5 with pixel displacement and global ambience. I discovered that Global ambience is key to having realistic looking clouds. I don't know how I lived without pixel displacement - I used it on the canyon walls and clouds. I know v13 is beta but I must say that decals with pixel displacement sometimes cause patches to tear. You can't see it in this picture because the trees cover it up but there is a tear in the canyon wall just below the rocks. The higher the displacement value, the greater the tear. Anyone know how to fix this? These are my global ambience settings: Global ambience type = color ambience color = white …

And what can you do to avoid it? I've noticed that in a lot of models that I build, I am getting these problems and I am not sure what I could be doing better to avoid it. I don't think I am doing anything strange as I am building these models, but maybe there is something that I am doing that I am not realizing. Seems to me like I'd have to do a screen capture of one of my work sessions for anyone to be able to tell where I am screwing up. I am probably going to try and do the giraffe tutorial, maybe that will shed some light, however----I was making good progress and would possibly like to have a finished dragon model at the end of the day. help........ …

Hi, I'm working on a theatre set. The red curtains open. The curtains are animated using cloth simulation in A:M 13. I almost got it nailed, but not entirely. So much parameters, I'm tweaking my ass off. Each time I have to tweak, simulate, tweak, simulate... Is there anybody who knows how to make these curtains move like the real thing? I'll post my curtain-project. It has the animated curtain. Just run the cloth simulation in the chor and see how far I got it. Never mind the missing decals. Please help me make this work. Thanks!
