  1. (see this post for details) There should be a way to attach pix in the Animation:Master forum. I feel really akward doing this all the time, but I don't ever seem to get any help unless I post my problems in the A:M forum.
  2. Yes. Thank you very much. Actually, it looks like your way's gonna be a whole lot easier to work with. There'll be a million bones, but.... I'll just hide 'em when I'm done smartskinning.
  3. Umm..... huh? I don't know if I understood all of that, but thanks! Sooo, is that the project attached to your post?
  4. The model has to be embedded for smartskin to work? No. The project file you posted doesn't have a model in it. You could embed the model so it is saved in the project... the textures that are missing you might want to include also in the zip file... please. Oh, heh, sorry 'bout that. Try it now. (The textures shouldn't matter, so you can just cancel them when it asks.) I_Robot.zip
  5. The model has to be embedded for smartskin to work?
  6. Can anyone figure out why the gears shrink and grow when the "pelvice" bone is rotated? I can't figure it out. All I did was rotate the gears using the rotate tool. How can that tool do anything even related to changing the size of an object? (See attachment below)
  7. I've never used a cookie-cut map before. But I need to use one on a model I'm making. This model has a whole bunch of these gears on it. With the gears, the model has an insane amount of patches. (15647 to be exact ) However, if I remove the gears, it is only 5567. So you can see why I have to do something else. My computer would burst into flames trying to render it in a scene. So, is there any pointers on cookie-cuts?
  8. Still don't know what "FFF" stands for. That was intense, and well done.
  9. It'll take me a while to look over all that, but thanks!
  10. Noo..... I can't for the life of me think of what the topic was exactly. Anyway, does anyone know of any good texture sites? I'm specifically looking for good tilable metal textures.
  11. Someone here (I think in the WIP forum) mentioned a site that he got textures for whatever the model was he was showing. I looked at it just the other day. Does anyone know what post that was, or what the site was? Thanx
  12. LOL! I love the expression ani., with the flipping ears. It's looking great. Keep it up!
  13. The nails and the top of the mic don't have any texture to them. I would find a texture that is similar to, but not the same, as the texture you have, so that it fits. I think it could also look better if you found a texture that was slightly different, or altered the one you have, for the bottom of the mic. As it is, while it does link the picture together, it seems kind of redundant.
  14. It's really hard to say. On the one hand, metal isn't likely to bend around like a human mouth would. On the other hand, having his mouth simply open and close would make talking really boring. Perhaps there is a comprimise? Have you seen the movie The Iron Giant? (came out a few years ago) While he didn't talk a whole lot, I think they made his mouth move in a pretty good fashion. Course I haven't seen it in a while either...
  15. Holy cow! You're insane man, doing all that in three days? It'd take me, like, months!(and it wouldn't look as good either ) I think he looks awsome. Garçon has a point, about a smaller door. Although I do think it looks cool as it is. I guess he could keep other things in there as well. Anywho, keep up the great work.
