I have attempted to model a real person. You can see the head only on the first .MOV and then the same model with a torso, etc. in the second .MOV. I modeled the head, hair, and props, and borrowed liberally for the torso from a model called Marie Claire/Sister M that was donated by Klaus-Uwe Schomann. Thanks Klaus. I was not concerned with realism at this stage. I just want to see if the person is recognizable before I go in and clean up the modeling and decals. Does anyone know who it is? I really compressed the size of the video, so I hope it is good enough. F2_2.mov F1_2.mov

Upcoming project. Currently I am working on 3 small trailer films. They will be 2 minute short stories which will allow you at the end to vote which series you would like produced. I will be creating Webisodes of each episode and they will be made with Animation Master and various other programs. I hope you enjoy and I hope to keep this updated with my latest characters.

Well, since everyone seems to be starting a thread for their own short films, I might as well throw my hat in the ring. I don't have much that's ready to post just yet, so instead, here's a poster I made back in 2000 when I first came up with the idea: And a similar poster I made a few days ago: Boy... things have come a long way! The final film is going to be about 10 minutes in length and I hope to have a trailer finished by the end of this year and the final film completed by the end of 2005.

This is my second attempt at doing one of these types of animations. The first one got so corrupted I gave up. In this one, there will be 4 scenes: 1) Eddie rides horse in a open elevated / mountain area. see horse5a for a very rough preliminary animation. horse5a.mov 2) Eddie rides horse descending into a narrow rocky trail where he should slow down. 3) Of course, he will not slow down and shoots off the trail which triggers a cartoon-type response by the horse to get back on the trail and avoid disaster. see horse6 for a very rough preliminary animation. 4) A final humorous scene, where the angry horse bucks Eddie off his back and kicks sand in his…

I've needed to put a new roof on this house for years I need to rip off the old roof first and I need to be able to cover the house while I do that. The largest tarp Home Depot sells is not large enough to cover the whole roof at once so I'm using A:M and Simcloth to test out various placements and to see where likely places to tie it down will be. this is a somewhat accurate, full size approximation of my roof and a 60' x 40' tarp:

Hi all, I felt guilty for not posting anything new in a while, so here's my newest character render. I'm trying out some photo texturing to add more believabilty. The jeans texture is pretty lo res right now, I used a digital camera. I'll probably use my scanner to scan sections of some jeans for a more detailed decal. I need to rework the feet a bit, too. Shoes would be easier to model, I think. I'm thinking she could wear a jacket that uses the v12 clothsim. Jim

Hey everyone...long time no pictures. I've been working on a new Superman model and it's far enough along to start sharing. This model started life as Jim Talbot's Superman model from the "Kingdom Come" series that he gave away years ago to the 3D comic collective website. Jim did such an awesome job I decided to use his model as a base for a "regular" version of the character. I still have LOTS of work to do, but I'm liking the progress so far. So, Jim, thanks for making such a cool model, I hope you don't mind my "Hashtic Surgery". Jim's is on the left, mine is on the right. Rendered AO in v13. BIG version of PJC SUPES Comments…

I have great news! I'm making a short film with Animation:Master 11.1d+ called ''Destoyed Neighbourhoods''. Because I live in Greece I named it ''Χλασμένες Γειτονιές''. This story is about some kids that can't find a place to play, because their town is too crowded, so they don't have any playgrounds. It is based on the memories of ''Κοσμάς Ι. Χαρπαντίδης'', a Greek writer. I started out making the character designs. I'll let know when i'll complete my short film someday in 2014. Merry Christmas! The middle photo is what i did about Christmas. The first image is a photograph of ''Kavala'' in the 70's. Kavala is a city in Greece.

I rewrote the script for it be in 3d (I'm thinking about it) there one part in there where I have great white shark come out of the water....LOL They won't expect it. I also made me a asset list of everything I need to model it help out a lot who every thought of that ideal thank you. I'll have about 3 choreographic for the San Francisco Bay, The Island and The Prison. One thing about modeling a prison everything just about the same and there a lot of copy and past does that save a lot of time. Fell free to let me know what you think and if I need to cha…

I've been stuck with the same probolem for years of A:M kicking me out to desktop once I render a 'complex' scene. I've tried everything that I can think of. I need to really solve this problem and I need a robust solution or versatile workaround. I have no money to upgrade to a newer version, and I don't have money to get the latest bellsand whistles for my computer and I'm limited in time. It probably won't fix my problem in the end. Sorry if this post sound like I'm venting, but I'm really desperate and after years and years spent into making models, the feeling that all my hard work can't be rendered apart from using the render lock (render marquee) using …

Well, I'm getting some new found respect for feature length animations and what it takes to render them. My small Nautilus animation is at 92% and has been rendering all night - 15:21 hours so far. It's only 640x240 but the light reflections, water reflections, etc, are really taking a render toll. 7 seconds long = 18 hours render time on my computer Still need to run a wake and splash animation to composite it with the main track. I'm really happy with the way it looks so far though. Again, I can't say enough about Mark's fantastic work he's done with the ocean generator. I shudder to think how much extra processing time it would take to render this with displace…

Just got V12.0 AM 2006 today and thought I'd see ii it feels any different than V11 2004. Modelling feels about the same but so far no gliches. I had out of memory issues with 11 so have been using 10.5. V12 appears to be a bit more comfortable although I have had no bad experiences with modelling in the earlier versions. I decided for my 1st model I would try to build my friends car. A 66 Malibu SS which I took pic's of for roto's about a year ago and also did some airbrush work on the car when he built it. Lot's of tweaking and fabricating to go as I plan to build the complete car and haven't done much mechanical modelling. I've seen some really nice car's built in this…

Hey everyone. A lot of you have been watching this in the WIP section, but now it's done!!! GAIL is a Spume-bot (sex android) that gains conciousness and uses her "talents" as a spy in the "Jed Lightsear" series that is part of the EVENT HORIZON comic book from MAMTOR press. EVENT HORIZON is a new Heavy Metal type comic that features all sorts of great comic tales. Here is my rendition of GAIL for a pin-up for issue #2 of the series. The model is based on the Lambrina model from the A:M CD (heavily modified) and uses photoreal textures for her skin. It was created in v11.1 on my Powerbook and my crappy PIII PC laptop and RADIOSITY rendered in 50 hours at…

All the recent post's in the R&R section have inspired me to start a new model. I plan to get this one rigged and animated eventually. I have started the model but won't have anything to post until this weekend. Here are the concept images. I am not a religious person but was taken back to a time that could be seen as a religious one. (the experience anyway). I sketched it and sculpted it for my mother when she was experiencing her last four months of life.

I've decided to learn Actionscript over Christmas break this year, so I thought it would be fun to try some 3D stuff. This is what I have so far: - System to render out nodes, edges, and polygons - Basic control system (rotate, zoom, and move camera) - Java "converter" which takes a .mdl file and converts it to a custom formatted text file - Actionscript importer which imports the data from the text file and constructs a model from it I attached a picture of the model in AM, here's the same model in flash: https://mywebspace.wisc.edu/vandeweghe/web/engine.htm Current issues: - It runs pretty slowly. Hello everyone, My name is Henrique and I was fascinated by all the animations that were built from the users of this site. A few months ago I created one of the pyramid hologram projectors and tested a few animations as a sample on my phone, then I showed it to the physics club at my school, but this time I made the pyramid fit for the size of a tablet, once again using some of the animations of this site. I then decided to take that further and enlarged the pyramid even more, however this time I made it fit for a 46 inch Tv screen and I created a video of our own to present it to my class during our Graduation ceremony. After receiving high positive reception f…

[attachmentid=22030] This is my next project. I'm making this 4 mins short film based upon the Aesop's fable of "The Wolf & The Crane". The voice over of this project is made in Bengali (An Indian regional language - my mother tongue). But I'll be putting up subtitles in English for understanding. Moreover, if somebody likes to record the lines in English. Then we would be getting a short in english. I'd redo the lipsynch if I get the support. The Story The Original story goes like this ..... greetings my friends after a long period of thinking about it, i´ve decided to dismiss my short movie project "the lunch encounter" (the one with the guy and the cat). for several reasons: 1. the story wasn´t strong enough. 2. my animation skills are not good enough to compensate the rather weak story. 3. it´s too long. 4. i wasn´t 100% happy with the look anymore. also i realized i suck at story writing. i really do. i´m always starting to make a movie because i just want to do a short, not because i want to tell a story. maybe some of you can relate to that. i just have fun creating characters and props and sets and doing the lighting and stuff, …

Hey Spliners! Been awhile since I did any 'show-n-tell'...I've been busy, and A:M V15.0E is at the CORE of my operations. Here are two recent jobs, one for Healthy Balance fruit juice and the other for HoMedics new water filter-er. I'm having good results with Yves new ENVIRONMENT SHADER, but I still tend to render with reflections ON anyway. Both of these animations were needed in HD (720P) and average render times were around 4 minutes per frame, totally acceptible for an overnight render. The juice bottle is actually an engineering file imported to A:M as a .OBJ prop, and given dummy attributes right in the choreography(color, transparency, reflectivity, specular, refr…

I've been running an RPG off and on, but I wanted to give it a little more punch. I've had AM for a while but haven't really had a project this involved. It will be a series of shorts showing events that have happened in the game and covering some out of game background. The setting is an alternate present sci-fi, so it has some unique points at its core but it also borrows heavily from current culture. My first animation is going to be a med bay, depicting the start of the game. I've nearly finished one of the props, and I'm working on rigging a character right now. mostly for the experience since I'll have a few characters that won't be able to use a standard rig. …

So, I took a while off from animation:master and just recently started spending some serious time with it again. Here is a short clip of a character I have been working on for a couple weeks. She still needs a lot of minor work plus a face rig. She has a cloth skirt and cape plus dynamic braids. A huge thank you to Homeslice for the LiteRig and tutorials on cloth and dynamics, all of which made my re-learning curve much shorter and less frustrating. speartest2.mov

As some of you know, I'm working on the SO sets. Adding trees to the sets are very time consuming. Creating assembly actions for each set and positioning the trees takes alot of time. Using hair to create forests, in most cases is not an option. So I needed to come up with another plan. Here I created a model with multiple trees (trees are basic at the moment). I then constrained the trees to the ground plane in the chor in a pose. Now I can drop this model (multiple times if needed) to create a forest. I can translate and rotate the base model and the trees will follow the terrain. I also have plans to add poses to scale the model and the individual trees. Here's an exam…

This is a quick render I did. [attachmentid=19353] It's based off of this image I found on the Internet. [attachmentid=19354] I wanted to see if I could get any better quality with A:M. I should have used a larger resolution map for the Sun, but it's allright for what it is. I'll probably add a bit of Specular to the next render I do, and may move the planets closer together, but it's basically finshed here.

After rigging up one of my character's (his name is Bertram) face using a slightly modified version of Victor Navone's face rig (thanks for sharing Victor and thanks to Shaun Freeman for providing a downloadable example), I wanted to see if the changes I made would work before moving on to other things. At first I just did a bunch of facial expressions, but I found that my timing needs loads of work. I decided to try a lip sync test so that I'd have a guide to go by. I've used this as a way to try to get better at animating, feel free to C&C I'm sure I could use it. Anyway, here's a final render of the test that I thought I'd throw out since so many others hav…
