Hi all, Does some of you have a model of the Starsky and Hutch Ford Gran Torino maybe , that he could share? Else maybe I could use an obj from turbosquid or similar and import as prop. Guess I would have to exchange the tires in order to rigg some suspension then. I want to experiment to pose it toonshaded for stills for some comicpages..... Thanks for some help and advise...

Hi Spliners, here you can find a short video - sequence ... in this sequence I'd tested the Hair - Forces. becurse of this, the gras is moving a bit to strange but it shows clearly my problem ... The whole mass of gras is moving in the same rhythm ... Is there a way to put a turbulence to the force or control the Mass with an Image like black has a mass of 1 and white a mass of 0.1? Or are there some other ideas of creating some turbulence in the grass? CU Maszie

Hi! I decided to move this over here so that it would actually be in the right subforum. Here is the link to the original: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=34739 So continuing, I finished everything for the most part. The render problem I had had fixed itself* so I double checked everything and did the final touches, tree here rock there. *NOW, my rendering problem is that every 4th pass won't render. What I mean is that everyother pass is about 47minutes (3000x1600) and the 4th (4 out a 5pass) just keeps on chuggin for about nine hours. Stuck on rendering hair..... SO... I guess I'll just setup a AA render and call it a day. Here are some more s…

Does anybody know, where I could get a grass material (maybe hair?) for a relativly simple football lawn? (At the moment I am running out of time, in how to learn how to make it myself.) Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thank you Jake

I'm having a MAJOR problem, my color won't stick to the grass. I've followed the "Hairy Grass" tutorial step by step, but when I render, the color won't stick to the grass... May I've pushed a button that doesn't makes decals disappear when rendered? Anyways, here's a picture before the rendering.

Completed some tombstones, grave dirt, and a spooky tree and added to a set that I want to use for a zombie short (2 minutes?). I think that I've got OK lighting, but still need to place characters and complete some test animation. I wanted something simple, so that I can focus on the animation. Comments, as always, welcome.

Hello, I started a short film project called Gravity as a new years resolution back in January. I am now continuing the project in Hash from where I left off. I have a storyboard, a story reel, a character design, the actual character model, and the antagonist flying saucer. Neither the model nor the saucer have been converted yet, but I'm going to show them anyway. I'm still very new to Hash, so your crits will be very much appreciated.

Hi Guys, I would like to share something that I have currently in the works. The head is complete, but I am still working on the body. The Greaseman is based on a real Disc- Jocky from DCRadio700. http://www.greaseman.org I've been listening to him for years and he's really funny. I hope to create some animated shorts based on his radio sketches. [attachmentid=9731][attachmentid=9732] -Edit--- This is the Front and Side Profiles that I drew. I based it on some photographs that were available on the Greaseman site. [attachmentid=9730] Cheers, Rebecca

Hey all. I wanted you to have a look at some of the work of a really good artist. He's done quite a number of characters and comics over the years. Some of his art can be seen here: https://www.artstation.com/greyduck I'm currently rigging one character of his, known as the Fanboy. These guys usually show up in numbers and cause mayhem wherever they go. Here's his original model sheet and a rendering of the model I made. I believe he does commission work but I'm not certain if he is doing so at the moment. Feel free to drop him a line. He's usually quick to respond.

I made a Flash presentation for the author of a book I've been helping to illustrate that showcases all the models I made for the reconstruction of the East Pediment of the Parthenon. The book is called The Parthenon Code: Mankind's History in Marble. These models are textured and in color! This was alot of work but well worth it http://www.holmesbryant.com/east_ped/

I have played with the SDK for A:M for some time and so far it has resulted in a plug-in for simple water effects. See the attached movie if you want an example of what it can be used for. I hope you don't mind the green color. It was supposed to look like poisonous goo... The plug-in is in an early alpha state so please read the disclaimer before you use it! It is only tested in A:M v10.5 so please let me know if you have problems getting started. Poison01.mov

Bought some perforated steel plates to use with stop frame work, noticed the moire effects when one moved over the other and thought,"Ill photo that". It was too cold to venture out doors ( by UK standards anyway ), so decided to try something similar in AM using cookie cutter decals.Managed to make about 35 over two days. Here are a few of them. Apologies for large file sizes. Grid One was the first one, Two grids, one using circular hole, the other square holes. There was about 10 of those in different settings. Then added colour and different grids.Grid Fourteen and G27 give an indication of those. Then, last night, thought to try cookie cu…

I've started modeling this submarine to use with the ocean rig and hope to have something that looks 1/10 as good as Eric's. Anyone able to guess which submarine this is? Al

Here is an acoustic guitar that i have started modeling and getting some of the decaling, texturing done out of the way. Once I build the neck, I am curious on how to make the strings twang when I animate it , when the strings are strummed. If anyone can shed light on the subject please let me know, I have an idea, but whethere to use dynamcis or just completely hand animate it all is gonna be a pain in the butt. I have two decals on the model, one I had for the decorative ring around the pickup, When I put the wood decal on, it put itself over it, is there any way possible in order to bring the decorative ring in front , on top ? I've restarted this in the WIP section, because I intend to make this ongoing project a working model. After spending time experimenting with displacement maps, and flirting with bump maps, I decided to go ahead and just model in the frets and the Nut. I've completed the and attached the neck. Next the bridge and the saddle. that should be easier, followed by the tuning machines and finally the strings. Necked0.mov

Hi folks, I needed a character that I can compete with in animation competitions. So, I decided to build one with the goal of making it as universal as possible and, with David's help, will have the awesome rig used in TWO. I started with the head first. That's how I always start my drawings. Linguini, of Pixar's Ratatouille, is my inspiration. I'm following two DVD tutorials, relying heavily on Barry Zundel's (Bizzle) character modeling Disc 1, and augmnted with hints from William Sutton's Modeling a Gorilla tutorial. Your critiques and insights are most welcome.

Before I put in a bug report, I wanted to check to see if others are having issues with hair and ao and version 19. Any hair settings I make to the hair results in a carpet like tender when AO is used.

I have been wanting to get back to several ideas I have had. So yesterday I pulled up several character models created in ver 18 or 19. I am running the current version of AM and all the groomed hair was sticking straight up. Opened the model in 18 and it is fine. in version 19j1 the hair guides are groomed but the hair is sticking straight up. Also, all the maps either png or tga were no longer alpha channeled. I had several maps with color and bump maps. Has anyone else opened a previously created model with the hair issues?

So Old Man Willies is coming along. LiteFace is up and running (major victory). I've been experimenting with using hair for his eyelashes. Had it looking good in the modeling window, but when I tested how it behaves in an action I found that it doesn't fair so well. I looks like the base of the eyelash moves with the patch, but the hair tip stays put. So the question is, how do you set up a hair patch so that it will move properly when animated. this is the eyelash in the modeling window this is the action I want the hair look, tried a eyelash decal and wasn't happy, especially on closeups. So how to create the a hair system that will animate prop…
