I wanted to model a dog for a while. I was looking on the cd and found the Dalmatian. I started looked at it and I used it as a reference. I have completed the body and I going for a fun loving comical dog. Here it is! Steve Here is a wire frame. Still have to tweak the legs and other areas around head area.

Hi all I was just wondering what you think of these backgrounds. If you notice, my web page is only set up to show the images at this time. I set up the images with one of the copies with a fog, to get the feeling of a misty coast line. Any critical comments are welcome also. I've always wanted to so some stories with these stylized backgrounds. http://dwaynejensen.shawwebspace.ca/

From- Dark Skull Productions including John Hubickey and Rich Jackson: Greetings all, An episodic space opera/ action adventure movie will be coming soon, called TekNu. The project should end up being around 20 episodes. So far, there is a web site with WIP videos, the story and episode descriptions, also the site includes details about the characters that will be seen. The web site is still under construction so some areas are not complete. We should be in a more complete state after the holidays. Late in January, work will continue and we might have the first episode by the end of the month. Here is the URL for the web site: DarkSkullProductions.com …

After some tinkering with the SDK I have come up with something that might be useful to at least someone. The plugin has a lot of parameters to tweak and although they have rather informative names I guess it might be hard without any help. When I find time for it, I'll make some example projects to get you started. Please note that this is a time limited beta version. When it expires in a couple of months a message will be shown when you start up A:M. The message will stop showing when you uninstall the plugin or upgrade. Also note that this is a rather simple procedural texture plugin and nothing that is capable of producing photo realistic effects. At le…

Hi all, Here's a WIP of a hair style on Lady Goodbody using the v.11 hair system. I call this one "the Miss America look". The renders are pretty speedy if you use lights with z-buffered shadows. And the hair looks better with those lights, too. Thanks Hash guys, especially Randy and Ken for bringing the Mac version along so far, and for the great hair system. Jim

I have played with the SDK for A:M for some time and so far it has resulted in a plug-in for simple water effects. See the attached movie if you want an example of what it can be used for. I hope you don't mind the green color. It was supposed to look like poisonous goo... The plug-in is in an early alpha state so please read the disclaimer before you use it! It is only tested in A:M v10.5 so please let me know if you have problems getting started. Poison01.mov

Hi there, Well, finally got round to running a fly-round of my female character. I think I better getting on slapping some bones in her, and start doing some animation with her... I think she still needs smoothing out some more, but I'm just spinning my wheels at the moment, hence the need for some animation. Maybe some clothes on her as well - yes, she's nude, so you have been warned. I based the body on Joe Williamsen's awesome Bisley Warrior Princess, and the head on every single wireframe that I've seen by Jim Talbot - thanks for the constant inspiration, both of ya! The hair and ears were obtained from Vuk Pavlovic (sp?), so thanks go to him. The…

Hey Gang, I had posted under the game developer's forum that we had finished production on our first videogame (Mac and Win), and began shipping earlier this week. Anyway, some people had asked to see some screen shots of the game, so without furhter adeu... Btw, modeling and animation was done by some of the coolest people here in the community. The characters were modeled by Jim Talbot, and props by Doug Horning, Steve Howson and myself (and some off the handy-dandy Hash CD's). Animation was done by a slew of people, including David Higgins, Robert Holmen, Paul Forwood, Gregg Wren, Ed Lynch, Alonso Soriano and myself. We designed and built the game in …

Hey guys, it has been a long long time since I've done anything with A:M or even had it installed on my computer. Maybe 2012? To be honest I was missing using it and installed the last version I had, 14x, and started something I've been interested in modelling and 3dprinting. Not sure why but I've been itching to model the IronMan helmet. So last week reinstalled it and grabbed some rotoscopes, spent a day getting my feel for the modeling window again. I was so familiar with the software years ago that my minds muscle memory was almost totally intact. so, loaded up a few rotoscopes and got started. Im just out to do the helmet and this is where I've gotten to. Ho…

I hesitate to post this in Showcase, these clips are mostly execises and wips, but since I probably will not revisit most of them I'll consider them finished. These were done with versions 8.5 all the way thru ver 12. All models are mine with the exception of one clip that contains the Mt Hash model in the background, and of course, Thom and the Knight's helmet and sword. And oh yeah, those are my kids in the rotoscope shot. http://home.alltel.net/collinsfamily04/AMDemoSmallSound.mov Cory

Hey Everyone!!!! I finally completed and published my latest "Lego" themed Animated Film on my Youtube channel. As many of you know, I have been working on these for some time now. The First 3 Days are very important as to how it is received by the public. If you get a chance, it would really help me out to get a view or two. I appreciate all of my A:M friends and their support. All animation and effects done in A:M and After Effects!!! I did use a few elements from Lumion, but only a small bit. Here is the Link: xhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1r9J3JAmUs Very Warm Thanks, Kevin

Featured here is my progress for the creation of my intro movie. So far, I've got the Space Captain character 90% done. Also shown is a preliminary flight test for the flying saucer / fighter my alien will be flying. The clip shows the saucer experiencing a little engine and stability problems while flying through a gravitational distortion of some kind. This test is just to give me a feel of how to animate the saucer. saucer_test.mov

I was going to wait 'til this was up on AMFilms, but I have a feeling it may be a while until it's updated, so... May I proudly present: Soap Opera (11 MB, 5:28, On2 + QDesign codecs) All the animation is mine. All the music is Jeff "Godfrey" Lee's (well, with some help from Mozart). The modeling and texturing is a collaboration between myself and Jeff, as is the, ahem, singing. The full details are in the credits reel at the end; it was originally going to be anonymous for the contest. Special thanks due to the folks at MAAM who saw an early version and provided much-needed encouragement. I'm very proud of this, but comments and criticism ar…

Okay, I need to get a few things out of the way before I begin... LEGO in 2001 released a series of Toys called Bionicle. Basically it was about 6 bio-mechanical heroes (Called Toa) with elemental powers defending an ancient island (where other bio-mechanical robots lived) against an evil force. Well, since then the fanbase grew and grew and the story expanded... and I was one of the kids who was with it since it began. I'm now 15, and into 3d animation, so for the past year I've been doing things in Animation:Master... and one day I thought... "HEY! I should do animations based on Bionicle!" So here I am. Think.. Star Wars Fan Films.. and you'll get where I'm …

I made a test with image based lighting to see if it helps in integrating Hash models with background photographs. I am happy with the color mixing, but I think the shadows could be better. I added some color distortion in the middle of the image to give it the reflection artifact you tend to see on sun lit pictures. I tried the z-buffer shadow option, but the results were kind of weird. For example, it did not show a projected shadow from the barrel in the scene. I would appreciate it if someone could take a minute to look it over and let me know if you think it looks realistic or needs further work.

OK! This will be a model of my Ranger in GW. But that's pretty far off. I've made a body mock-up and now I'm working on the head. Here's where I'm at: [attachmentid=23207] Lookin' kinda freaky. [attachmentid=23208] I've gotten this far with the help of the great 'Cooper' Tutorial. My questions: - Am I using too many 5 point patches? - How to fix those creases on the side? - Does he need more CPs? - Should I put this on hold until I get my version 13 upgrade? (Just in time for Christmas. ) Suggest away! Now that I've made this thread, I should be more motivated to work on him! Updates will happen!

Introduction: I’m remaking an old Christmas video called “Twas the Night Before Christmas” that I did three years ago. As I completed scenes, I thought I would blog them here for general discussion of animated short making and have everyone critique what I am doing. I originally did this piece as a video Christmas card however in my ignorance of delivering video, most of the people I sent it to didn’t have the bandwidth or a powerful enough computer to view it. This year I will make it into a DVD and hope for a wider audience. I started about the first of July and am shooting for completion by December 19th. While I would love a lot more time, I am going to mak…

This is the "Nice Tan" glam pic for eggprops. It includes the Yves Poissant skin shader that gives it that nice "warm" look. It does have a significant hit on render times. . . and the material works ok without it but with it. . . oooo wee. . . sexy huh!?! You can see it on eggprops <here> And then we have. . . a Zombie material. Very clean elegant material. Make sure to shoot them in the head. . . its the only way to kill them. . . . It can be found <here> And then the last one is a cool Reptile material. And that can be found <here>

Okay, I've just finished a small piece I've been working on. A little info here: I've been working on editing video of my two daughters (ages 21 months & 3 years). The video clips will be put on a DVD for my wife and the two grandmothers. Before the main menu on the DVD there's an opportunity to insert an intro video, so this is what I've created. First off, I apologize to the MAC folks if they can't view Windows Media Files. I tried other formats, but was having a hard time to keep this down to a small enough file size. I do recognize that there's several flaws with this animation. The monkey (in the foreground) has a few issues with twisting o…
