Wrapping up the the "dry" (rough) run on my most recent animation project. I'm fairly satisfied sands some minor tweaking of some of the animation and editing that needs to be done. The sounds are just place holders(BTW: any know of any GOOD sound fx resources) Just wanted to get some other opinions before I started to render. Here are the clips: SCI01.mov SCI02.mov SCI03.mov

myGameTV.com is a new syndicated video game review TV show. The show airs in Florida as well as worldwide on the internet. We're like Siskel & Ebert on crack. We're seeking animated shorts 1-5 minutes long that are hilariously funny, maybe a little controversial. If they are gaming related that is a plus. Although there is no compensation, we offer screen credit and there is a lot of exposure and we can also plug your website on television. If you want to see how she developed into this continue reading. ->UPDATE (Feb 15, 2005): Here is a new short animation and rendered image. Martian War Machine Probe is Revealed! Here's a warehouse I began working on that was going to be used for a background in a 3d game. Turned out they decided to go a different direction so I didn't take it much further. But I rendered it out. I bought Emilio's Sweeper plugin, and I used it here to make the walkway, railings, zig zag beam on ceiling and iron beams. It worked really well, very pleased with that! Funny thing, whenever I tried rendering this with multipass I got horrible renders. Turning it off, it came out much much better. Not sure if this has to do with volumetrics on the lights or what. C&C welcome. Tom

A:M has been my main hobby for almost 19 years. (My oldest copy of the render module, render.exe, is dated Feb. 26, 1993). Over that time A:M has improved and I've learned a lot about modeling, texturing, lighting and observing the real world. Now that I'm getting comfortable with my new hardware, Win7_64 and v16 I've decided to go through every one of my models to bring them to a consistent level of craftsmanship. The first model to get an upgrade is the brick facade of a warehouse-like building. I don't usually keep old renders but in this case I have the warehouse from: 2001 - Toonation Brick Plug-in, simple lighting model, procedural sky, incredible day-glow colo…

Hi This is my latest project I have been working on. I made the entire model using the 3D model in the "Dawn of War" demo. I also used it for the decals (print screen). My only concerns are that: - the laser from the 3rd tank isn't 'fuzzy' enough - the sides on the tanks are to plane Any comments would be appreciated

I thought it would be relatively simple - but how wrong I was! But I have learned a lot so far; but I know that I have a long way to go. Side_View_Dust_v10_sphere.mov Front_View_Dust_v10_sphere.mov I am trying to weaponize it now. I found the tutorials on making an electric arc in a Jacobs Ladder and I thought this would serve as the output of the PPCs. Having trouble though.

Hi i'm new here and have no idea if this is were to put this. I will be getting A:M soon and wanna introduce you to my dream project: Hey everyone. This is sorta a sneek look at what my movie will be like. Now I hope for my first chapter to be complete by august and my second by September, if not sooner. Here is what i have panned right now, other details are under raps until release. Chapter 1: I Am the Lard Knight (Pts. 1 and 2) Wario Wario works at "Mushnick's florist" , which never gets customers. While the place is burglarized by Rupert Thorne and his men, Batman is killed trying to save the shop and Wario disguises himself as b…

I wanted to spiff up an old design of a space ship, so I selected one of mine from when I was in high school ('90 - '94). Unfortunately I lost the original concept sketches, so this is from memory. Fortunately, it started as a very basic design. Here's the start of the design:

I liked the Sintel Character from Blender so much that I am converting a version for A:M. Sintel is Open Source so my version will be open source as well. The conversion proved better that I expected. So far the conversion had included various levels of additional deformation meshes as well as Proxy meshes and other layers. Its been a pain cleaning these out. Next will be to fix the few bad patches (not too many) then to add hair and the a rig.

Hi Spliners Here my attempt to make Water with an animated Material. I know, that the waves are too fast and the color of the Water is too blue. I already changed the color ( look at the image). But before I start the next animated rendering, I want to ad some Force, to move the Hair (Grass). But I never did it before and so my question is, how to do it. CU Maszie

If you have ever watched slow motion water drops the tail end has a long spout of water that then collapses and a large drop falls to the water. I was playing with the idea and using blobbies to form the drop at the end but the results need a lot of tweaking as you can see from this post. I only colored the blobbies so I could see what looked right or wrong. Mostly wrong blobt_1.mov

Well asides from the hands and eyeballs she's mostly done modeling. I'm having a hard time making it look 'wet' enough.. Render time is painful on her though... ~40 min for this shot (2 1/2 min per pass roughly) Update: Here's a final animation Water elemental animation 840Kb SWF Ignore the black speckles theyre fixed in v14 im told and I had to re-render the last 10 frames and of course somehow my lighting settings got changed.

Ok taking another little break from my c-130 aircraft model, this time Im goofing with a water splash(no splash yet though) ...oh well , something like the topic title, attached are a couple short clips of theb Eddie model from the CD falling into what is suppose to be water, the motion and timing and just about every thing else is way, way off, all I was doing on this go round was working on the sprite air bubbles, and I slaped together a simcloth water surface, with sloppy settings, a lightgel on a light, and some sloppy eddie key framing of him flopping underwater.... More later I hope... Any suggestions are welcome and noted, Michael[attachmentid=12452]…

Just a mirror of the Water splashing thread on the main A:M forum, to allow me to post a QuickTime. This is a really fast and crude demo, but the blue patches are just small 2x2 grids and the cyan objects are spheres with the tops & bottoms truncated (have to do that, otherwise SimCloth tells you it's unsolvable.) Obviously, the model & SimCloth parameters would have to be tweaked to allow the "drops" to deform more naturally, but it looks like the idea of using SimCloth to simulate water might just be doable after all. I've been working on a "waves at night with moon" scene for a bit. I think it needs more work, especially with the fog, but I'm sure there is more to improve. I want it to look as photoreal as possible, but I need to find some reference photos or head out to the lake one of these nights to see how it really looks. Any critiques or comments would be great. I'll try to explain more, especially the problems I'm having with the fog, when I have the time, but I have a busy day ahead so I need to go to sleep. Thanks, --Ross

Hey guys. I've been working on that experimental head I did a while back and I'm up to a minute of animation. It's really just a test but it's a little short in itself. I hope you like it. I would value any crits on it as I want to put this on my portfolio, so don't hold back. PS I'll be putting in a puff of dust to make him sneeze when I get my video editor.

This is a charity music video to help support fire fighters widows and children. Far Star Productions. Inc. donated the special effects and the editing. The Angel models were made by Andy Mulia and animation was done by both Andy and me. The editing was done by my production company partner, Elisa Llamido. If you would like a DVD or the cd you can order it through the America We Stand As One website. It is a charity so there is no set price to receive the DVD or the cd; they ask that you donate what you can and spread the word of Love. Peace! http://www.americawestandasone.com/home.html

If people are interested I've updated my website with images of my latest character. She's rigged, smartskinned and textured. I still need to add specularity, bump, diffuse maps, and a ponytail etc , but thats down the track. http://www.shaunfreeman.com/wip.htm Click on the link to 'characters', and the 'Cuckoo Mother'. NOTE: Different character to the 'Wren Mother' which I have posted previously I've also updated a few other bits and pieces on the web page. Any thoughts that people have would be great.

Playing with Wegg's skin material and Yves' skin shader is giving pretty good results so far. This is with the standard chor lighting which I will play with next. The render times and memory usage is still a concern (52 minutes/frame) if I want to use this combination for an animation but it looks much better than my attempts at skin materials. Yes, I know, she has no hair. This is a skin experiment.
