The meeting will run until people get bored. WHERE: 135 Plymouth Street (at Adams St.), apartment 208. There's a buzzer, but just in case, e-mail me and I'll send you my cell #. Here is a map. You can take the F line (York station) or the AC lines (High St. station). WHAT: A:M User's Group Meeting! Snacks will be provided, along with big-screen entertainment and a live band. Hi Hashers, The mid-Atlantic animation master user group meeting went very well today. In attendance was Don Davis, Rich Jackson, Vern, John.R and our newest latest greatest member Eric.C. We had a great time including showing off some rendering and animation stuff we've all been working on. Rich showed us some great stuff he's been working on including his TWO work and also some dark skull production work. The Sentinel for the TecNu project that falls under the dark skull production umbrella is coming along and just about ready for some proxy test animations. Rich and I also posted some information's and a video in the showcase area of the forum. We've got…

Is there a technical school, junior college or online course that teaches a recent version of A:M in the North Texas area? If there is no usergroup or other organized instruction in A:M here in North Texas, is there anyone familar with the current version of A:M who would be willing to tutor my 8th grader in the basics. Hopefully three or four one hour lessons will "prime the pump" enough such that he will be equipped and motivated to learn much more on his own. BTW, he's bright; taking AP courses for half his schedule. Even so I get the impression A:M (3D animnation generally) is a challenge even for most motivated ... Thank you in advance for you help! M…

Hey hashers! Where do all my fellow Hasher's live? Now we can add ourselves to the USgoogle map called a 'Frapper'... Here's the link: http://www.frappr.com/hashfrapper It's quick and easy to do, you just enter your zip-code (no email/spam). If you wish, you can enter a blurb of text about yourself and even add a photo. Hope to see you there!

Hello Fellow Animators, this is my first try at using the forum, I didn't have the nerve before. Finally desparation has wrestled me to take a dive and try and learn Aminmation Maater. Can anyone help me change octagon tires back to round ones? When I drag in the sedan for lesson 8 the tires appear normal -round. If I render the view to shaded the tires become octagonal. I've checked the properties panel and have not been able to find any connection to the new shape.

Hello - This is my first post on the forum. I am a 2d animater new to A:M (since 12/04) and have been utilizing the vast resources available on the web and in book form to successfully create my first completed model (a cartoonish camel). I am looking for any other A:M users in Nashville, TN that might be able and willing to meet with me to help me get a firmer grasp of this wonderful software. Users of any level would be helpful, but I would really like to meet with an advanced user who could walk me through specific modeling, rigging, and animation issues that arise. I would even be willing to pay for tutoring sessions. Thanks.

We had the first NY Hash A:M User Group Meeting today. I think it was quite a success. This is in a large part due to Mike's great hosting at his place. Mike had a nice spacious living room with snacks and drinks for all. We all discussed a little about ourselves and what we do with A:M. We talked about our shared love of A:M and what we thought about the future of the software and stuff like that. The smokers enjoyed smoke breaks in the big hallway and had some nice discussion. We then went to Mike's cool little projection room and watched some 3d shorts. We also viewed some awesome work by some of the guys. I forgot to bring up my little humble movies I have …

SHAM (Seattle Hash Animation Masters), a Seattle based user group, is still going strong. We've got 6 regular members, sometimes more. We are looking to increase the size of our group. We meet once a month in North Seattle. If any A:M users out there in the Pacific Northwest are interested in joining in on the fun, check us out at http://groups.yahoo.com/groups/sham or email me at David.Roomes@paccar.com. Anyone within driving distance of Seattle is welcome. (We enjoy the actual face to face interaction and are hoping to get new members who can actually make the drive). Hope to hear from you Pacific Nor'westers...

I'm sure this is posted somewhere but damned if I can find it. I currently have v11 and would like to have a clear list of new features in v13. I've found the "bug fix" anouncements but nothing concrete like "This is new....." etc. Can anyone point me in the right direction or tell me what (if any) the differences are? Thanks.

It has been a long time since the Atlanta group got together. With Colin out of the hospital now, we needs to get one scheduled. We have met in Atlanta the times I have attended. We have talked about possibly meeting in Chattanooga. Martin has hinted he may be interested in providing shirts etc.... Just let me know your preferences. As an alternative, we could meet at my home. We live in between Atlanta and Chattanooga, right off the interstate. Depending on the weather, we could have a volleyball game afterwards. Families are welcome. We will have wireless access setup and refreshments. Please let others in the Atlanta, Chattanooga area know,,…

Hi folks, I've seen various posts abouit A:M users here in Florida and I was wondering if there was any interest in forming an A:M user group in the Central Florida area. I live in Ocala, so I'm within driving distance of the Orlando/Tampa area. I've been using A:M for several years (on and off!) but I still consider myself a newbie. What do you think? Any takers?

Hi guys, there is an Animation Master User Group Los Angeles. We don't meet as often as I'm sure any of us would like. We are all quite busy and most of us are working professionals. All levels of A:M users are welcome at all times and there are no fees nor dues. My name is Frank Silas (http://www.franksilas.com). Beverly Turner , Dr. Eddie and myself are the founders of this group. We usually find a nice place that will host us free of charge. At this point in time we are looking for a new place in the Los Angeles area to host our next meeting. I need to go in for surgery so I don't think we'll be having another meeting until after November of this year. Yo…

Are there any users out there in the northern New Jersey and NYC area that is interested in a face-to-face user group? I'm based in Hawthorne, New Jersey and can possibly get access to a dedicated classroom in my local library for a meeting place. A train route which goes to Hoboken (with PATH trains back to NYC) is just about 1/4-1/2 mile away from the library. I even have access to a projector for large display demonstrations. At this point I'm pretty much a beginner with Hash. However, in the past I've used SoftImage and 3DS Max, so my 3-d animation knowledge is there. I'm wondering if anyone out there are interested in exchanging their knowledge of Hash in a frie…

Howdy folks! New to Animation Master, but I'm learning.... Still, in order to do what I want, I'll need help. Preferably, people in the Sacramento area in California. Reason? I'm starting a team to make web-based cartoons, and eventualy PC games, but the major dream is to become one of the greater gaming companies, PC and console. Now, I can't give any details now, since I'm still in the process of copyrighting and trademarking everything, legaly through the system, so they dont get stolen. I'm curious to see if there's anyone interested? I seriously need some more animators, since it's just lil' ol' me doing it by myself. I'm just getting started, still have t…

Looks like we got removed from the list. Probably an accident when someone was trying to remove the OT post that is still here. Just a reminder. If anyone is going to Dragoncon this year, that would be a great time to gather. We would also have the distinct advantage of having Heath and James there as well. (I assume this is who will be there). Also, they tend to sell a lot of copies of there software at the show so there may be some potential new peeps that we could talk to as well. For those that don't know, Dragoncon is Labor Day weekend. (Sept 3 - 6). Tickets for the whole weekend have gone up this year to 85$ unless you pre-paid. They threaten every year t…
