Just thought I would post some shots of how my new model project is coming along. I have been asked to do some shots for a Star Wars Fan film (for free of course). 5 shots each revolving around a babies head - so I need a babies head model (very specific since they already have shots of the baby I need to duplicate the real one......) and it needs to be rigged for basic baby facial work. Unfortunately I have only a front roto to work from so I have to 'wing it' somewhat. So I will welcome comment/recommendations about how it's working out as I progress. For those wanting to learn how to model a face - I highly recommend "Model a Face with Bill Young" c/- Anzo…

I'm modelling the New Horizons Pluto Spacecraft for an areospace client. Here is my progress so far. Hope to complete it in the next couple of days. The client is asking for as much detail as possible. There are a ton of small appendages I still have to model. Thankfully they are all basic shapes, cubes, cylinders, etc.

Alright in the past 2 days i have modeled this. i think i spent more time then i should have. but it doesnt matter cause i like how it turned out. but i think it could be better if i just knew how to make better lighting. i dont know though. so if you have any tips about lighting. how i should light it up. or any things you think should be changed its all being taken. i wanna know what yall think.. my intentions are to enter it in the heros image contest when the time comes. i expected it to take longer then it did.

Yes another landscape. I haven't done much in A:M lately, creative block. I finally forced myself to start a new project. Still alot to do, but it's a start. This was just a test render at a low resolution and scaled up, so the quality isn't great, but it will give you an idea. The ground and water aren't textured yet and I still want to add a few more props and foliage.

I've been wanting to enter the landscape and/or hairy image contests, but haven't had the time for the last couple of years. So, I finally decided to work on something for myself for a change, maybe I'll have it done for the next landscape contest, if there is one. So, here's the start of something I've been working on. It not much at the moment, but I figured I would post my progress as I go. IMAGE REMOVED

Hey Everyone!!!! I finally completed and published my latest "Lego" themed Animated Film on my Youtube channel. As many of you know, I have been working on these for some time now. The First 3 Days are very important as to how it is received by the public. If you get a chance, it would really help me out to get a view or two. I appreciate all of my A:M friends and their support. All animation and effects done in A:M and After Effects!!! I did use a few elements from Lumion, but only a small bit. Here is the Link: xhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1r9J3JAmUs Very Warm Thanks, Kevin

Hi gang, Here's a new lipsync I've been working on. This one has more extreme emotion to show what this setup is capable of. This clip is a render from the action window (Quicktime, Sorenson 3, 1.7MB) http://www.scc.net/~mbs/Yosemite27.mov This one is a wireframe that includes the onscreen interface I use for animating this critter. About 90% of the lipsync was done using the "slider interface" and the remaining 10% was tweeking the individual pose sliders. (DivX 5.1.1, 2.1MB) http://www.mstrohbehn.lunarpages.com/Videos/Yosemite26.avi Let me know what you all think. Thanks!

Hi! i am posting a test with a character i had abandonned awhile ago. I decided to rework the head after buying the excellent face bundle from Anzovin (building, rigging and animating a face cd's). It is the same text in french that i posted a few months ago. You can still judge of the lipsync and attitude of the character even if you don't understand the words, i think (Justin Barrett made a very good tutorial in italian). Thank you for viewing! http://www.cam.org/~mgigue/lipsync%20test.mov

I am creating a basic male model for future modification and reference. It is also a possiblility that I will use this for an advertisement for a medical company and they want a basic model that can demonstrate the medical device that they are making. I have started on the face and have it shaped pretty well but it still needs a lot of tweaking. Please let me know how I can improve it. I have included 3 pictures of the face below. Thanks helping out!

This post is more of a query than a showing of new work, but I'm going to be presumptuous and post this in the WIP rather than the New Users forum. This is a model of an inline speed skate. This is my second model, the first with curved surfaces, so I have a number of questions. I'm sure all of these questions have been asked and answered before, but I'm still looking for those answers. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd certainly appreciate it. 1. What is the best way to remove the creases in the model's surface? 2. Ideally, I'd like to radius the edges of the frame (the metal structure below the boot), but the short splines connecting the…

I started on a new model my fourth one. I am having some problems. Scaling: When I try to scale by highlighting a section of the model and press the shift key or select the advance minpulator for scaling the model will not scale. I am running AM 12q (windows). Also I am having a problem with the corner of the eyes. I wnated the eyes deep set but no matter what I do there is a shadow around the inside corners. Once again I see that I am spline heavy. Any thoughts. Steve

Seeing how much John Stewart on the daily show works his magic at political humor, made me want to try something while the election process are ongoing. Someone made a really good John Kerry caricature. I was going to see how many of the political figures I can do.

This is my rendition of the New NASA moon rocket. The idea came from the NASA website under the heading "How we'll return to the moon." It's very informative with a great animation. Some of you may wish to check it out. As far as my model uis concerned it's patch intensive (Slightly more than 7500) and my computer is slowing down. I'll have to find a way around that beause it's hardly finished. Ed

Enjoy. { PROJECT FINISHED DELET THIS POST } it is also available at my site, http://www.psyog.cjb.net wich I will be updating severly for the next few days, it is in the movies section. I have decided to make a short movie in order to better my skills as an animator, modeler and texturer. I centers around a ninja that has to complete an assassination. Right now I am working on the set. So far I have finished the bed and the table. Here they are. I look forward to the completion of this project and the criticism to help me make it better. Thanks in advance! MasterFunk

The overall layout of the shot. I am going need some help though on configuring AM hair to get that grass look. (Gold with white tips) More stuff soon. -Photoman

In the technical manual, it states while in the chor, we can be looking through the camera view and hold down the shift or control key and move the mouse to change the camera view. Has this been disabled or is there something I am missing? Needless to say I can not get this to work Steve Edit Center mouse key plus either control or shift got it. Sorry

Somewhere on this forum some one showed a project they were working on describing a solid object turning into a cloud. What I am working is an arrow from Cupid hitting its target and the arrow turns into a cloud of hearts and floats into the air. I was looking through John's prj and did not see one. I was thinking it was Gerry and his Christmas animation but did not see it there either. Does anyone remember or could point me in the correct direction? Steve

Here is a new revision of the mouth creature. http://home.alltel.net/collinsfamily04/walk.avi I like the skin on this one. Thanks a bunch to Will for the excellent tute on mapping! One point though, if you use the approach of using one image pasted "through" the body, (from one side) the bump map portion becomes inverted on opposite sides. Color is fine, it's just the bump map. Due to normal direction I suppose. I now understand how to use the UV editor, and it is a gas! Cory

well guys...I've decided to add another character to the scope bot crew (that one robot who right now is frozen in front of the plank it just rolled over) This time, I'm actually using modeling techniques (making holes, 5 pt. patches, Porcelain, spline continuity, hooks, etc.) Check it out so far! I'm still trying to figure out with the style of the legs, arms and head will be. I want them to be somewhat related to the look of the scope bot. here it is so far

This is based on sketches my 15 year old couzin drew, she's an insane 2d artist at this age already, i'm thinking she'll be working in the industry in no time. I'm doing this model to try and show her she should get AM and turn her characters into 3D. He's still in progress of course but comments and crits are welcome. Eventually he'll get a nice big blade, and most likely a gun of some sort as well. I think i'm happiest with his gloves as it was rather complex to place the gaps into them. I'm not all that happy with his face just yet. -Ethan [attachmentid=16099] [attachmentid=16101]

Hi all, I've been continuing my tests with compositing shaded hair and final renders directly in AM - no alpha channels or fancy software needed. Here's the result of my latest process, the TOTAL render time for this 1024*768 image, was 6:30 on my 1.4 gig machine. That's 6 minutes, not hours. This is frame 44 of the test animation which uses dynamics for the hair. I'll post a link to the final VGA animation later. EDIT - Link to VGA dynamic hair video 1.03 megs Quicktime UPDATED to high density hair. Link to full size version of still Phil

Hi guys! I have been away for a while, so I need to catch up :-) I'm preparing a new short film and I will probably use A:M to make it. I'm still using good old v13 (I purchased v14 but I didn't really use it). Is there anything really new in v15? Has anything changed regarding rendering? This new film will be technically much simpler than Chicory 'n' Coffee (I will mostly use A:M for 2D animation- only couple of objects will be made in 3D) so I believe I could do it just fine with version 13... but anyway I would very appreciate first-hand experiences with new version. Hey Gang, I almost hesitate to post this in the "showcase" forum because it is very much a project that was kept under the covers while I learned to use Animation Master, and that was it's purpose. But it's gotta be done, i've been putting it off for two years! It wasn't designed to wow everyone with artistic talent, explosions, and fast paced gunplay. I learned EVERYTHING there is to know about how NOT to make an animation while creating this piece. The reason I am posting it in it's entirety is as a small thank you to the whole Animation Master Community, and every single one of you who has put up with my questions and stupidities over the years. Well, I've been working on this site with a huge team of other people for over 2 years, and it finally launched today. It'll be a while before I can put up any of the work on my site so I'm showing it on theirs. Some of the modeling was done in AM... The Ancient City of Alexandria, The Giza Plateau in 2 time periods, The Temple of Luxor over 4 time periods, and The entire tomb of King Tut as it existed when it was found. We also created all of the 3d for the Multimedia anima…
