It's a BRAND... NEW*... DELAHAYE! DelRedMP4_1200.mov YouTube version of above: Another modeling and material experiment. Last night, in the course of some quick, careless mouse-clicking, I blew off the main toolbar...the one with FILE>Open, and EDIT>Paste With Bones, VIEW, etc. I still have the iconic tools, but...can someone point the way back? Thanks.

Hi, friends and enemas: Let me direct your attention to Door Number 3, where we find: Oscar vs. FBI Warning This is a piece I did as an intro for a client's demo reel a few months ago. Jeff Lee modeled the text and logo for me and the client provided the character, the "story," and a time limit of ten seconds which was promptly shattered. And don't tell anyone, but this is the first time I ever got paid to animate anything. What madness! Getting paid to do something this fun! Anyway, hope it brings a tiny smile to your eye, or possibly a tear to your lips...

This is a photo of a prototype that I've been working on at my day job as Creative Director for SMP Display & Design group. It is a cast urethane sculpture of "Mr. JellyBelly", the mascot for Jelly Belly Candy Company, for the new international display. I had modeled Mr. JellyBelly in Animation:Master and exported several different poses of him as .3ds files to bring into my CAD program where the rest of the display was designed. When the final design was approved, I had this figure carved and molded for the prototypes. I airbrushed the finished figures before boxing them up to send to a tradeshow in Europe. Anyway, since I did use A:M in the design process,…

Hi everyone. I saw the running trex animation. very cool. I was fooling around with this trex model i had downloaded awhile back. I took the original rig out and put in the tsm2 rig. I used the weightmover on the neck to the tail and put in the cog system on the thighs. I only got to put in about 5 hours on the animation but the tsm2 rig works awesome. the animation is still very rough and has no secondary action yet, but it has some potential. this is my first animation that I have posted on the forum. This file is divx and may not work with all browsers. let me know if there is problems. this was 10 seconds and I only have 10 meg…

Hello all, This is Simon, president of Small Island Productions and Director of Against The Author. We have been working on a 3D Animated Motion Picture Event since April 2004. I have posted before, yet not often, as I usually am too busy actually working on it. The good news is, we are almost finished, and actually plan on releasing it Winter this year. We recently premiered an Interactive Trailer at the Osceola Performing Arts Center in Florida, in front of over 700 Arts Students from Central Florida. If you wish, you may visit the Against The Author Official Website at www.againsttheauthor.com , where it is also possible to watch the entire footage reel from…

This is a new character for me to learn and install the 3dArtz rig on. I took the rotos from an old 30's character "Tom" from "Tom and Jerry" (NOT the mouse and cat!) Anyway, I've really been struggling with the head. I redid some things based on Josh's suggestions but I have a couple of issues (aside from general tweaking needs). - Note the open 6-point patch. I'm at a loss how to finish this part of the face. It's the last hole in the face. - He looks like he has no chin! It's tricky getting a 2d into a 3d mode sometimes and he seems to be not translating super well (the head at least). Certainly part of this is my (lack of) skill. The hair is only I star…

A few nights ago i thought of how viper was modleing a car, and so i though well maybe i should try to model a car at first i thought i should model my favorite car a mustang, or i could draw my own car. but then i discoverd i suck at drawing cars. so i started drawing and adding stuff as i go. eventualy i had a futuristic motorcycle!! [attachmentid=19287] And i added some more stuff to, i even know how the whole thing works!! ok so the back of the cycle hovers, and the front wheel keeps it under control(hover technology isn't perfect yet). the wheels are not connected to the cycle, the berrings on the bike are metal and are repelling the metal on the inner tir…

So it's been a while since I hunkered down and actually got some work done in A:M. So I spent this weekend playing with particles and materials trying to get a good molten rock effect. so I wound up with this guy. Then seeing as my TSM2 no longer works I watched the video tutorials on setting up the squetch rig. Turned out it was not as bad as I thought. I still have to fix the CP assignments (autoassign mangled it a bit) and figure out the compensate mode adjustments, but I'm making progress. Installing the rig was easier than I expected so a big kudos to everyone who has been working on it. (and I'm looking forward to the action Install and …

DaVinci's ideally proportional man (Vitruvian) was used as a roto to modify Thom into a more current "generic man" (note the beer belly). I have yet to rig him, but will probably be using 2001 skeleton, as I don't need the complexity or options of the squetch rig. He will have no mouth, eyes, ears, hands, or feet, other than what you see here... I used a "pencil sketch" trial with bitmap plus to get his basic texture... My character needs no more... though I'd like to figure out how to disguise the seam down the middle of his torso. What I'd like to get is some feed back as to his general appearance, whether you can "relate" to him or not and general "…

Hi Hashers Well I am posting a model that I started a while back for the next Bella Bear story and I wanted you lot to have a look and see what you thought. Hello: I am trying to rig a book I designed. I am wondering if I should be building it from a closed form then use a pose slider/precent to get the book to open pivoting on bones. I know that if I hold teh book up like you do when reading it and put the bone up/down the book spine and associate front cover CPs I can then rotate in Z axi to 'close' the book. but then I get stuck with the binding AND when I close the book, the PADDING page overlaps and doesn't close on top of the padding page. The front padding can be removed but being a dictionary book with the word definitions I ant being in the middle, I can't realistically have the middle of the dictionar…

Hey everyone, I could use some feedback on this early animation. I modeled a simple plunger, and I'm going to have it hop across the screen. So far, I've finished rigging and blocking the animation, and begun working on fine tuning the hop action. This render is an early test, it is by no means close to finished. I wanted to get the community's opinion on it, and use your comments to improve. At the end of the animation, you'll see a quick downward move. That's the second hop, I only rendered the first, so pay no attention to that. The model itself may be changed eventually, I'm thinking about adjusting the splinage to allow for smother joints. I'd…

Hi Everyone, I am making a Honey Pot and I would like the 3D Text to sit on the outside surface of my pot. Instead of using decal, I want the text to have 3d thickness. Would anyone know how to do this? Also, I lost the model 3x when I hit the undo button two times in a row. I thinking it might be related to the curled in top surface. Was I going too fast? Have you ever run into this before? Thanks, Bob

Hi All - I have nearly completed modeling the lamp I will use to continue ABC training. If I can complete this model and successfully rig this sucker, I'll post the model up for all to use. I have two questions which are stopping me from completing this model: 1) The lamp shade itself. I lathed the shade and then I added points to create the slotted cutouts (see images LuxoLampShade-Render and LuxoLampShade-Closeup for examples). When I added the points, the top-middle section of the lampshade is no longer smooth. What I'm wondering is, how would you recommend I create the slots in the lampshade to keep it nice and smooth? 2) For the lamp's spri…

I was thinking of modeling a calculator for awhile, but then I started. It has an insane 1492 patches. Originally, before spline reduction, it had well over 2000 patches. I sort of did a small preparation before hand for this by modeling my masterlator. I don't know what it should do, I just made it as preparation. I'm the creator, how should I know what it does? Anyway here's a pic of that: Note that the M is not a bump map. I actually took time to engrave that.

In trying to learn modeling I gave myself the task of creating my Juno 60 synth in AM. The shadows are a little dark around the black keys in one of close ups, as I was trying to show of the glowy numbers. This was a fun build, not 100 percent accurate, but still pretty close. Learned a lot about decaling and using Illustrator, thanks for all the help from Vern and Robocat.

I separated the audio into bass, mid, high and top versions with the EQ filters in Audacity. After applying the plugin to the audio i deleted all the "bottom half" keyframes of the waveform and rescaled what was left to fit from 0% to 200%. WILh400.mov It has promise. I think it would benefit from some sort of smoothing or peak averaging to make the amplitude result more resemble the perceived volume of the sound rather than track the instantaneous level of the waveform itself.
