As per Vern's request, this was one of the May Mechanical Contest entries. (I actually entered two, this Rebel and the Lamborghinni Gallardo). And as with Eric's entry, this is still a WIP. I had been doing a WIP thread on this already, showing the progress of the model. The Gallardo was the model I created mainly for this contest. Never even thought about entering the Rebel until someone in the WIP thread asked if I was going to enter it. I hastily tried to complete the model, but didn't succeed very well. There are a lot of things on the Rebel that I am not really happy with, and will be redoing them properly. Anyway, here are some larger, higher resolut…

I've been making music with my friend these last couple of years, Darlene Lombrozo. We've been doing a regular Wednesday evening gig for over a year now and there have been a few friends that have joined us. We started out: Myron & Darlene, "An Entertaining Experience". People started asking us what the name of the band is so we came up with "Myron & Darlene and the Twisted Knickers Revue". Our 'motto' is "Don't get your Knickers in a Twist, Have a glass of Wine." We are having a demo video made and I'm making an animated version of our Business card. (Which I also made using Animation Master) I want to start the animated card out with the letters of our name…

I decided to do a little test to see how the rig works. As you can see there are a few problems. Though I'm sure it's do to my bad modelling. -The arms really need work -The shoes go through the pants - The pants go through the shirt The shoes twist at akward angles The knees twist argh back to the drawing board As you can also see. I didn't try for realistic movement. I was trying to show where it messed up. Now he looks like he belongs in the matrix rig_test.mov

(see this post for details) There should be a way to attach pix in the Animation:Master forum. I feel really akward doing this all the time, but I don't ever seem to get any help unless I post my problems in the A:M forum.

I'm going to attempt my second real animation. It's going to have a story this time, one about a doodle of a stick figure. But before I do anything elese I need to model a stick figure (shouldn't be be too hard). Oh, and how do I take pictures of my models and everything so I can post them on the forum? Sincerly, Masna

I am trying to re-rig a character, and for the first time, [when making an Action] I find bones that will not rotate, or will rotate on only one axis. For example. In this instance, the arm on the right side of the pic. will move only fore and aft on the Y-axis. I can't move it up or down. On the other side, I can get the base of the thumb to move, but the two other digits won't. I can't even get the "rotate" symbol to show when I move the cursor over the bone. I have the bones 'locked' since I rarely use IK. I've tried IK both ON and OFF. I've unlocked the bones, but instead of moving in the screen plane, the arm section twists and spins around. Hello - for those of you that are tired of my dental animation... sorry. ;-) This one is actually pretty cool - it is for a dentist that created a new patented "braces" application combining the 3 current brace systems. The animation starts by showing the traditional 3, then his idea of combining the three and how it would work - then possibilities of what can be done with them. I had to start completely from scratch with new teeth and gums and everything, because in parts of the anim we had to make the gums transparent to see the correction of the teeth and roots. Anyway, just a warning watch when you are not sleepy - it might just put you out. ;-) http://www.fl…

Well, I finally think I have a good reel version of my best stuff. I'm a little weary of the reel( but I always will be, its my nature ) As I've went through I've tried to go by these standard rules: Your reel should be no more than 3-4 minutes Mine is running a bit over, almost pushing five with the long holds for the title cards (the version here has shorter ones for a small file size to upload) I'm pondering if I should shorten the opening segment; though I feel its one of my strongest. Music and sound track is secondary. I have a full music track going though the whole demo. In my older ones it was just music on top of everything. This one I d…

I've finally finished modeling what I had planned in mind. I modeled in the simplest way, but also effective. I used Freeman's tuturial for the teeth...Below is a pose slider test for my guy...Later you'll be seeing an attempt to lip syncing teeth. I thought about this and looked at myself in the mirror. The teeth barely move at all! And for some reason, when I lip sync with the teeth by moving it up and down naturally, it looks great! (lip sync tests coming later) Pose test Note: Due to Angelfire privacy, you must right click and push "save target as..." or you must right click, hit properties, copy the full web address in the box, and paste the address into…

I've been working on a three minute short for our booth at a trade show next week. My attempts at rendering have all failed, both rendering a QT movie and Targa files. I'm open to suggestions at least in theory but time is extremely short. I'm going to set up a render to an .avi file and let it run overnight. Tomorrow morning I'll know if it's been successful. But I need a backup plan. My back is seriously to the wall and if anyone with rendering facilities can help out a fellow hasher in his time of need, this is the time! I'm flying out of Charlotte NC Sunday night the 11th but I need to have it in time to finish up the sound. It's now 10pm Tuesday i…

Well, i've worked on this in my spare time between school and other things. I'm pretty new at A:M and this is actually the first model that i actually have rigged. I still have to rig the antenna and fix the riging of the legs. And also increase the amount of patches in the head, because it renders really wierd as you will see in the photo. Comments and Critiques are definately welcome! Thanks

Haven't modeled anything complex for a while, so been at this One for about 3 weeks now. Figuring at least another week, just slowly tinkering with it on a daily basis. (I'm Not modeling a PS3 Version of the Rifle - Just using the PS3 Image as the basis for a finished Rifle) Here's the "RotoScope" Image being Used - NOT A FINAL RENDER! Here's the file of what I have so far (I'm on Version 14 Now) ->PS3_Rifle_14.prj 3/4 of the way there and still some holes that need filled. So far Only ONE real trouble spot, where the handle goes into the body (5 point patch not rendering properly). When finished: Not Seriously - just an Idea for …

How does one animate the effect of fog rolling in from the camera's settings in the choreography. A:M seems to only want to give me fog from the render settings, which as far as I understand can't be animated. I would like to get the "before" and "after" effect as seen from these two images. Thanks for your help!

i was inspired by bioshock to try and figure out how they make blood look so real. After a long time fumbling around with photoshop, to get a good looking liquid surface tension normal map, i think i got a fairly good result. The key though that I found out was blood doesn't have a white or red specular highlight, it's blue. Anyways, here's the results of my testing. BloodStain.zip BloodStain.mov

Now that I have finally figured out how to post a picture.....I will post my first true model. I did this some time late last year and have had no time do to much more than troll the boards. However, as luck would have it I just ran across a copy of The Animation:Master 2000 Handbook with the CD still in it at a local used book store (Mckays for Will Sutton and anyone else in or around Chattanooga, TN). It was only $6.00. Even though it is for version 8.0 and I am using 10.5, so many of the things that are in there still apply that I feal like it is Christmas. I get to play with my new toy again and actually have a clue what I am doing. Back to my gun. I did try …

Hi all! Since I suck at modeling.. I figured I'd focus on the animation for a while and try to get good at that. I went back to the 'Door's Stuck' tutorial and played around a little.. this is just the first un-polished pass so there's a lot of anomalies and timing issues.. but it's just a beginning. Steve Door's stuck first pass..

Hey all, just wanted to share this guy with everyone. His name is Dudley (everyone says, "Hi Dudley"). Anyway, he's a character that I created because I was inspired by some drawings that my 2 daughters did on their Magnadoodles (ages 2 and 4). Hope you like him, and feedback is definitely welcome! Not sure this is what was asked but I like the effect. Uses a grid with a animated displacement material applied with a little refraction. The hair is not on because it seems to be acting strangely in this version v12k and it sped up the render [attachmentid=10166] oh an here's the project but the decals for schlitzy are not included but on the cd [attachmentid=10167] actually the screen is begin to look the same must be getting late was going to mention the actiing is a bit too fast but that can be tweaked aniother thing the displacement/refraction could be on a slider and then if need the distortion could decrease and focus would r…

Hello, Hashers. Though I've had A:M for a while, I've only recently (like, this weekend!) been able to sit down with it and actually start learning how to do stuff. This short animation is the first real "thing" I've produced. (17 secs, Quicktime, about 2.7Mb.) I'd appreciate some feedback. Thanks, Alan. PS - You might want to turn your speakers down.

I call it the person mobility machine (PMM) for short. it is good on roads but also gas rockets to fly with Hehe. Here is the design. probably start modeling it tomorrow.
