Hey everybody, I just threw this together in the last couple of hours... I really don't have any use for it, I just made it out of boredom. Texturing could use some work, but it's a start

Well, I just wanted to share a little character I have been working on for the past few days. I have learned alot working on him and have become pretty excited about my first forays into actually making something move! I haven't slept all night and I have to go do a 12 hour shift in a few more hours I kept coming up with ideas every time I tried to sleep. Work is gonna be rough but it is worth it. I know this isn't perfect but I just wanted to share what I have. I plan to do the next few lines of the scene if anyone recognizes it everitturtle1.mov

Well me and my friend are working on a game idea and the program im using to code with is Unity 3d. I can export models succesfully to 3ds Max files to import into Unity which is great to know because animation master is what I am good at. My first question however is, Is there any way to export animation files from animation master into any other file types that i could possibly use? And i am going to post all the things i model in this topic so you guys can see all of my progress! This first picture is What the game style will be. Legend of Zelda Wind Waker is the inspiration. And if anyone saw me post this first turtle i made in another topic.…

Hi everybody: This was in the WIP section a while back, and it's finally finished. Because of the fact that many of you helped me with your suggestions, I thought I'd post it and let you see the finished piece. The only thing left to do, to finish it completely is to fill the signs, that are sticking up out of the ground, with numbers (this is because it is for a math student textbook). Thank all for the help!!

Now that I'm in the home stretch with tank treads, it's time to think ahead and decide how to blast the bejeezus outta them. I looked in A.R.M. and found these two tutorials...both of which end in a 'Page Not Found' It's the first of the two that I'd really to find. Can anyone direct me to another URL that will give me instruction on animating "flame/smoke trails" for a streaking anti-tank missle?

Hi all I figured I should post my contest contribution on the forum. I bought this helicopter just a few months ago, and of course I had to model it:) I've always been an r/c guy but haven't used helicopters before (no I don't count those 30 bucks styrofoam toys we was playing with at the hash bash, lol). Helicopters are really hard to fly, but even more fun when you manage to control it a little Comments and crits are always welcome

I'm trying to get a car model in shape. Have been working around with the airplain example, and switched them into a Citroèn. Think I made some failure in the perspective, because it got some scratches. Made myself a bit difuse for keeping all part-names for decaling. Fun to do!

I've been playing with using lattices in distortion mode lately and found it an incredibly easy and fast way to morph one model into another. The really great thing about it is that all of my facial controls still work nearly perfectly on the new, morphed model. The guy on the left is my original head model. And the fellow on the right is his new African buddy. This took me all of about 45 minutes to do. Neat, huh? I love Animation Master!!!

So I've been setting up my main character for Woke Up Dead. To test said phenomes I am using a sound bite from another website. (I can post the bit if you want as it's from a movie and they have no legal right to it.) Anyway I figured I would post my work here as I slowly progress to get a little feedback from the community. I could also use advice. For some reason if I try to render an avi film it tells me it's unable to write to the location (any location on my harddrive). If I do quicktime it crashes AM. I'm using AM v15. Any clues?

So here's my WIP so far. I'm using this scene to test the Latimer model I have. This is a very rough blocking and I'm simply looking at the timing of it now. I would have used the frame burn post effect but it doesn't seem to be working. Anyway I'm looking for feedback on initail poses and how I could make them stronger and better. finishes_here.mov

TWO is progressing well - so well in fact that we're moving into modeling for Act II, (there's still plenty of animation to be done in Act I but the modelers need to stay way ahead of the animators). Alain Desrochers, TWO Set Manager, will be looking for modelers for "Mrs. Yoop's Castle" (which Alain designed). This is the best set in the movie, with lots of gothic and macabre details, and plenty of opportunity to be creative without having to be a perfect modeler. So, all of you car modelers please raise your hand by responding to this thread. You don't have to commit to a lot - just bite off a piece here and there: plenty of statues, ornamentation, hallways, and…

Hi guys! Here are my last animations. The first is a "jump exercise". The focus of the animation is the jump, the rest of the animation I made it just for fun The second, is a little exercise of facial expression with the insect man that come included in the Justin Barret's CD tutorial. The animation is only 2 seconds, and only one word to make Lipsync, but I tried to make it the best I could. Jumping. Please Right Click And Save Target As... Jumping. Hello all. My two questions are... 1) How do we model/animate a natural moving/looking/behaving METAL CHAIN? Complete with links, and all.... what's the best way? or short cuts? tips? tricks? actual pre-made model someone might have to wanna give? And... 2) How many passes are suggested for a BROADCAST QUALITY slightly-more-than-good end product (maybe just under great, but above pretty good). Okay, maybe three questions.... 3) Anything I should know about final format for editing in Final Cut Pro HD (on the Mac), with the desire for an HD or WIDESCREEN compatibility? Many thanks in advance for your help. -Jim

A few years ago Robert posted an example of texturing of a patch where opposite sides show different materials, textures, etc. I'm not sure if we every found out his approach but for a little while I thought I had it figured out and did some exploration of my own. Here's a very basic example that colors opposing sides of a patch red and blue. The dangling splines are there to provide some curvature on a single patch which would otherwise be straight/linear.

I started out with the easiest thing I could think of.....a ball.... I then thought it would be cool to make an entire set of billiard balls....and viola. I think had the hankering to make a sword and did this. Does anyone have any pointers on how to make the blade look like real metal? I used the "metal" material, but it doesn't seem to work.

Okay! The guys at Hash Inc. saved my model... but I was in the process of rebuilding anyway. So, here's the progress so far. [attachmentid=15509][attachmentid=15510] 1. The lighting's not right... But I've got to relearn a bit with the switch to v 12 from 11... apparently the lights are brighter now (the render doesn't indicate that until the render is complete and you click in the screen, then it gets washed out. 2. Decaling is accurate and maybe a bit much (higher res than needed). 3. I haven't aged it yet... this is what it looked like new. I've got a roto (but not from this angle) included here as a reference to compare against... (He…

inspired by robs amazing tests i´m trying to use cloth for some typo animation for work, to get some sort of bouncing yelly-letters falling down. it wasn´t easy to get it to behave like this, but i´m pretty much there. the letters will have to be remodeled though, they´re not complex enough for a smooth cloth-simulation, i just left them as they were imported by the ai-wizard. i´ve tried several approaches, with the letters in a invisible box etc... but i wanted the whole word to look like it´s one piece and i wanted to have the letters return to their original form and position at the end of the simulation, so i connected the single letters with invisible geometry. and t…

Hey everybody, It's time once again to post my latest work in progress, a T rex skeleton. For anyone who knows me (or even my handle), this won't come as the slightest bit of surprise. Several years ago, I completed a T rex skull, and I always wanted to complete the skeleton, especially since Joe Cosman's Albertasaur is such an amazing model and has long been a wonderful bit of inspiration. So here we go: The goal at this point is get as many pieces made and in place. I am going for fidelity to my source material, but not extreme levels of detail. This is obviously a subjective standard, so I apologize in advance for inconsistencies along the way. However, becau…

Hey folks. As a way to help re-learn A:M, I decided to model the U.S.S. Enterprise from the original Star Trek series. There are so many things that I forgot how to do over the past few months, that there is a lot of trial and error going on here. Slowly coming back though... Phew! It's been a long time since I posted at hash. I finally got the opportunity to use 3D in my cartoons again and figured you guys might like a look. The UFO will become quite an integral part of the storyline of my current comic. The only problem is that it only gets updated each week and it's fairly slow paced. It'll be more enjoyable to read the entire thing once it's finished (I hope ) Dan Beeston http://www.invisiblespiders.com 'Get 'em Off Me Man!'

Hey there. I am new... So, please excuse dumb questions. Here is my head model. The head on the left has a diffuse decal over the face, the other one does not. (See attached picture) Short of applying the diffuse map to the entire body, how do I smooth this transition? Just smooth the diffuse map out at the corners? What are shaders? Would that help? Any other general comments? This is my first try... I guess after this I a rig her? b pose her? c bone her? d attach to a body that is boned or not. Help - I would eventually like to animate her. Sorry for the newbie questions. Melissa

Hi Guys (and galls): Let me introduce you to the 1st grade Math teacher of the reefs. Done mostly in Hash, I gotta admit that there is a lot of Photoshop in here. However it is a "still", and sometimes it is faster to work on something directly in PS, than to model it and mold it into a pose. At least for me it is anyway. I hope you like it, and as usual critiques and comments welcomed. Hope to hear from all of you soon, Jose (aprentice)

Hey guys, I finished modeling the unhatched egg...now I have the rig started. I'm using a format I haven't used before, but it seems interesting and efficient (jason osipia?). I learned this through other people's project files and stuff.... the actual rig on the egg is standard. (IK legs, FK Arms). I realized I made a mistake on the decal after I put it on...I wrote "right forearm rotate" twice and I didn't write "right bicep rotate" at all...gotta fix that I'll also post up a shot of the model in it's neutral pose again...

Hi Hasher gang, I just did a little work on the character I'm working on. Lots of work ahead, just chuggin along. Doing some refining of the rig and poses and adding some new poses-- (Finger bending-spreading/mouth shapes/ facial muscle moves). I'm starting to get tired of looking at him with no clothing on... so I guess I should be working on that soon. I don't know if I want to do full cloth simulation or try to do partial with a unibody structure. Any tips? *edit: Thanks MAAM user group for the suggestions.

Is there a way to update an action in a chor without removing it and then re-applying it? Whenever I make a change to an action that has already been applied to a model in a chor, I have to remove the action and then re-apply the changed action for it to take effect. Hitting the spacebar or saving the project does not update the changes to the chor. Is there an easier way or is that it?
