Has anyone here had one of their models converted to a physical object using a 3D printer? William posted a while back about doing that: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showt...&hl=printer If he's converted some of your models, let's see the result. I was in talks with him, but he never got back to me after we started discussing details.

Just to share some WIP done with help of my newly obtained A:M. Quite a few other software was used but A:M played an important part. These are unfinished prints form a 3D printer. ...with sprayed primer What comes after will be a lot of handy work such as polishing and painting, unfortunately not digital. So might not be appropriate for posting in A:M forum. Cheers, Rijk

Greetings! I run a small specialized psychological software company. I was very impressed with AM at a trade show. I need 3D looking animations of "characters" made into sequential "cells" that I can use as animated bmp files. If you are interested in contract work to make such characters, then please contact me at jas@braintrain.com, website: www.braintrain.com or call 804-320-0105 Joseph A. Answers in Genesis (AiG), Christian apologetics and creation science organization, as well as builders of Creation Museum in greater-Cincinnati, has redesigned their extremely popular website. A key feature of the redesigned site is a new "Get Started" section that features an introduction video ("About AiG") that includes one of my 3D animations that I created for them. www.AnswersInGenesis.org is the single most-popular Christian apologetics website, receiving over 50,000 unique visitors (not hits) every day, which is about 150,000 page views. In a month, the website reaches hundreds of thousands of unique vistors (again, not hits because that would register in the…

I raised this last time I used AM and got nowhere. The 3DConnexion *standard* axis for Spin and Roll are swapped in AM. Last time I raised this (years ago) I was told this was what certain AM users wanted and it wouldn't change. Would a request to add a user option to use the 3DConnexion *default* axis be considered? Cheers

I can probably guess the answer but I have to ask; will SimbiontAM, atx & trb files that work in A:M v13, also work in A:M v16 64 bit?

Hi everybody... The image used in this calendar was created entirely in A:M. Open every day a new present till x-mas... Especially funny and well done is for example present 2. (but there are many good once!) Just to mention it: These clips are not created by 3We (or you will see it in the credits). It is just a compilation of funny or very well made commercials. Have fun! http://advent.3we.de See you *Fuchur*

The modeling is 99% done but I'm going to see how much detail I can add with normal and bump decals. I'm really impressed with how well normal decal rivet heads hold up under fairly close scrutiny, as shown in the shot of the rear of the tender, even when they're next to the modeled rivet heads attaching the handrails and ladder. By modeling the decaled heads with a low profile their lack of self shadowing isn't obvious in sunlight at grazing angles. The only downside is you can't apply a left hand normal decal, mirror it and apply it to the right side since the "polarity" of the mirrored decal is wrong, as shown in the third image. So you have to generate left and r…

Going back to basics and completed the giraffe. Glad to see that my mechanical modeling on the sub has paid some dividends. The giraffe was fast and easy compared to the Nautilus. Only problem, though, is that the giraffe decal is distorting in every 5 point patch. What is the remedy? The tut includes the 5 point patches also, but gives no advice on the distortions.

Sometimes when making a 5pt patch there are bad cp's where they render as dark spot that renders bad. Is there something dumb I'm doing? Is there a work around? Still learning here.

Sorry, since the forum this was posted in doesn't allow for pictutre uploads, I started a thread here so I could show a way to respline his model. I'm sure some the modeling gurus can come up with a much better solution, but here's my contribution anyway. I just took your pictures and re-drew some of the lines. For me, there isn't any trick to avoiding these types of situations other than experience. You just start to sense alot earlier that you are going to paint yourself into a corner, and you do your spline rearranging before things get too out of hand. So I guess you are doing exactly what you need to do in order to avoid this sort of thing in the future Model…

I decided to take a stab at modeling a 63 vette. So far I just have the dog house, hood, and front tires. It's got a long way to go and a lot of detail missing but it's starting to look like something. I used Photoman's tut on the bike tire to make my tires. It worked perfectly. Thanks.

Hey all.. Well, I just got my software about a week ago and I've been going through the tutorials, but decided to do a little animation outside the tutorials. I used Thom to do a little jumping jack action.. first try was ok, but I got some suggestions and polished it a bit... still not perfect, but I am learning. Then, since I'm a Matrix fan (the first movie anyway), I decided to figure out how to do a simple 'bullet time' sequence. Took me almost all day to figure it out, but could do it in about 5 minutes now if I had to.. haha.. guess that's what learning's all about. Anyway, if anyone's interested I'll link to it here... nothing earth sh…

Heres something I threw together while waiting for Thanksgiving dinner to cook. The voice is Eddie Murphy doing his impersonation of Richard Simmons. Sorry but I only have it in Windows Media format. I've started a car of no specific type. I just grabbed a rotoscope and started making the car..I made some parts the way I wanted them to look so it'd be a new type of car...I've only made half of it...(screenshot below). I still have some unwanted creases. I had problems with five point patches but fixed 'em up. What a relief! Critiques please!

Hey all, just wanted to share this guy with everyone. His name is Dudley (everyone says, "Hi Dudley"). Anyway, he's a character that I created because I was inspired by some drawings that my 2 daughters did on their Magnadoodles (ages 2 and 4). Hope you like him, and feedback is definitely welcome! Cheers, Noah

Started fooling around with building heads. Nothing much to brag about yet, but this little guy happened yesterday afternoon. A bit lumpy, but maybe I can get the mouth to work. So I biult the body. The hands will follow tonight. s'Got a vaguely Irish look to him. What should I call him, Ken?

I've been inspired by Christmas Tauntauns on You Tube, so I thought my first toon should be a Christmas one too. I wanted to share some of the models I've been working on to get some feed back. The first is going to be the Captain of the Toy Soldiers Uniform, the next is the Gingerbread house and then finally the Christmas tree (which kind of bothers me) I'm thinking of redoing the tree, using the hair system to make the needles and get a more realistic look, but the lights... any pointers? Right now, glow is just turned on, is there a way to make the bulbs brighter and flash sequentially? Anyway, thanks for taking a peek.

Some characters we are working on, my friend John Aretekis had A:M for about a year and then sort of gave it up. When I asked what kind of work he had accomplished he said he had modelled some characters, so I asked to see them and they were WONDERFUL! He has this wolf, 3 male fat hiphop piggies and 3 female fat hiphop piggies, all decalled and modelled. So I borrowed them and rigged them and now we are trying to conjure-up a '3 lil pigs/ goldilocks' modern day takeoff. This is a quick animation test with minimal lip poses for tracking to a clip I nabbed off TV... BigED.mov

Hey guys! Just re-downloaded AM after a semester of learning Max and Maya ... haha Anyway for my illustration final I am supposed to create a delicious looking candy bar (based off of a real brand) Here's what I have got so far. Any CC as to how to make it more delicious looking? PS - I know there is a little bit of clipping from the wrapper on the left side and the reflection on the bottom right is .. odd.

I am new to animation of any kind and after picking up the aoam user guide I saw that it was packed full of information but only if you could look at it as a guide only and not something that was going to make you a great AM user. So here is my WIP and I generally put new stuff on there every day of the week (yes really). I would be grateful for any comments that you may have. My Webpage

I am starting a new WIP thread to consolidate everything. I will be posting in this thread as opposed to my old WIP thread. Currently the working title for the film is A Dragon's Love Story. This may change - I'm mulling over one or two other titles. The story in a nutshell: A dragon was once in love with a princess that rejected him. Realizing his treasure hoard no longer brings him happiness and he is leading an empty existince, he heads out in search of a mate. He searches high and low but cannot find one. He is about to give up when he finds love where he least expects it. I imagine completed length to be about 3 to 5 minutes. Both the main char…

Hello Everyone! I would like to share some recent work i have done! I did these three models for a game, but it turned out that Version incompatability halted the process. I do hear that the production is well on its way again. There is a sniper rifle, a shotgun, and a pistol (futuristic). I need to check a few things first, but i would like to donate these to the community, I don't have any use for them, and i am pretty sure that alot of people would like to play with them Ben

Hey everyone, I have about 6 weeks left in my first year at the Cleveland Institute of Art and have recently started using Animation Master pretty heavily again. I'd like to share some of my projects. My first project using was re-purposing or increasing the aesthetic qualities of some object for my 3D design course. I used AM for previsualization (helping me better understand aesthetic and ergonomic variations) and then crafted the final object with wood. My next project was to make a game of some sort. I choose to make a board game. Again AM was used to previsualize the game and settle on a final aesthetic theme before sending the obj…

Here's a five second logo I worked on for a friend with the original concept drawing that he provided. I made 640x480, 1280x720 and 1920x1080 versions...this is the 1280x720 version...1.0 gamma, H264 compressed Quicktime. There are plenty of things I wish I had done better, but I think overall it came out alright. animated_logo_1280x720_1.0_gamma_30FPS_H264.mov
