My current WIP is an ROV (remotely operated vehicle), that is a remotely operated mini submarine. Also this WIP is where I'm for the first time whole-hearted trying to bevel the corners of my model. In this stage of the project I've only made the steelframe and the top of the submarine (much more to come). Criticism and comments are highly appreciated Stian

Hi there, I recently got interested in sketchfab. So after man years I fired up my gold old AM 15hNet and was pleasently surprised that it still works. Woke up some of my old models from its briarrose slumber and exported it as obj with 4 and uploaded to sketchfab and this is the result. Hi everybody, I am not sure if many know that tradition in the US but in Germany most children (and many older childs ) do have an "Adventskalender". That is a calendar before christmas with some candy (often chocolate) in it for each day in December till the 24th.Every day you are allowed to open one "door" of it till xmas is there. (most people in Germany start celebrating christmas on the evening of 24th, not the 25th like in some other countries. Anyway: This is the digital Adventskalender 2016 from my company. It is packed with funny, deep or just very nicely done commercials from all over the world and the cover art is done with A:M. Have fun . Each …

Hi All - attached is a finished animation accompanied by a track from my album "Whisper & Howl". Posting in part because I'm somewhat proud of it, but also because I've got a lot of work and learning to do still with a number of aspects of this deep and thrilling software, and I'm hoping for valuable critiques of anything you all can give. For my part, I feel the areas I need to concentrate on most at this juncture are lighting & rigging (I really need to start using fan bones in joints). I'm a conscientious student of the animating process, but realize I am still at a relatively low bar when it comes to creating the "illusion of life". This is due partly beca…

I've joined a rabid bunch of hikers ... not just any rabid bunch ... but a rabid bunch of OLD hikers, who go every week to some park, preserve, etc usually within an hours drive of the San Francisco Bay area. We usually go 5-8 miles, with varying degrees of elevation change. The oldest member is 85, and finishes the fastest and goes the longest! He also has quite the harem of ladies trying to keep up with him. Cracks me up. So, I've been getting into taking photos of these wonderful areas, and of course, ...uh...doing some major manipulation. Somehow, the colors are just never what I remember, nor want to have seen, so of course they needed tweaking! These (l…

I'm posting this recent short animation I made with A:M with a note of thanks to everyone at Hash. Among others, Robert Holmén and Mark Largent have been extremely quick and helpful in answering questions and solving problems I encounter onVenriloquist Show.mov this journey of learning animation, and A:M in particular. This software and these forums are so very important to me - thank you!

Hi Guys, I'm happy to share an animation I've been working on the past few months, I'll try to make a long story short... Since all this Covid 19 stuff things have been different, previously most of my spare time was spent working on fine art projects a lot of work I did preparing for art shows was put on hold and like many people it's been a stressful time. I guess psychologically the best way I've been able to deal with it has been to tap into my silly side and rekindle some of the things that inspired me in my younger years. Using Animation Master was one of those things, it was the first app that got me seriously into 3D and actually helped land me my…

I've been working through the Barry Zundel videos but keep running into a wall. I've learned a ton, but I think my time will be better spent getting back to the "Nightcallers" trailer. I think I sort of understand rigging better than I did before, but in the videos he encounters occasional problems (mostly with Compensate Mode and parenting hierarchy) and it just gets my mental knickers in a twist. I don't need the rigging knowledge for "Nightcallers" since I use The Setup Machine, and I am making good progress on modeling Biff, so it's back to them lovable bugheads for the nonce!

Hi freaks! After a pretty long abscence from Animation Master, we finally did a project again with a whole lot of A:M usage involved. It's a (web-) commercial for a company called "Lieferheld" (which some of you might know as "Delivery Hero"). All characters have been modelled, rigged, shaded, animated and rendered with A:M, backgrounds have been created with softimage and Modo. We kindly invite you to have a look at it: Lots of greetings, Elm.

Hi Guys I felt like taking a small brake from the Cathedral project, so last night I started on another project I've wanted to do for a long time. Thomas the Tank Engine Anyway, almost done with the model, just some minor details missing and some tweaking on his face left to do (to get rid of his "crazy" look). Let me know what you think so far. I might have bigger plans for this guy, not sure when I'm able to realize them though. I'll upload a better render of him tomorrow Best regards Stian *edit* image updated

hey guys, haven´t been here for a while, and of course i have a question: i´m trying to find a way to simulate a stop-motion look without having to animate frame by frame. so i thought a possible solution would be to add some sort of random expression to the bones rotation, so that they would rotate randomly with very low values (let´s say from 0,1° to 0,3° or so) each frame. i´m not very familiar with expressions in a:m, in after effects the wiggle expression is fairly simple and can be applied to almost every parameter. i hope it´s similar in a:m. any advice?

Used A:M to 'arch-vis' a dream I have for an add-on to my house... basically, moving a wall out and making a better entry. The house was built in 1930 and over the years people added-on and connected new sections, the wall I want to blow-out has a huge window on it and is badly insulated- lets a lot of cold in-in the winter... I used Google maps to obtain a satellite plan-view of my home and fleshed-out the walls and rooflines, then made a pose that had the revisions I have in mind and animated it in a chor. I hope to be able to show this to contractors to see if it can be done. 561Lakeside (1).mp4

I recently started a small project with a puppit I made of some garden strings and velvet. They were a bit moveable, but I had no idea to set it up with the right stability to make a movie of it. Then I reminded the one_frame_button of my Cad camera. So I made some surounding and tried some pictures. My first attempts were a bit fraggy, as I had no idea to make the puppit straight for a longer period. Then I found some small magnets, and used coins to move the feet as parts for the walk trace. It all looks a bit chunky, as I had hardly an idea how much frames needed a walk pose, or a still. This was made with a range of 600 frames. 😏 pino.avi

I modeled a head to help in the Douglas' project then he ask me how I did it... I restarted the process but this time I recorded it. It took me 22 minutes then I decided to increase the video speed. The modeling is a dinamic system thus this model isn't the same as the first, there is some diferences in the splines but the result is the same. I hope you enjoy it. if you have some question, please be my guest to comment. U5w19qocMEQ (720p)

'corporate' meaning- an invite to a bio-oncology seminar where the producers knew they had some yawner material and they came-up with a nifty idea to house their 'self-shot' cameos in an inviting way... making-use of their 'merge' theme. https://www.dropbox.com/s/b7spgccs7vtsrv0/TRANSPLANT%20VIDEO_FULL.mp4?dl=0 I used the 'cartoon car' from the archives... a LOT! This is the scene I animated for Kevin Detwiler's production of "Adventures with Boomer". You've heard of a "take" and a "double take". Cary Grant once landed a triple take in "Arsenic and Old Lace." This scene, however, contains a world record... septuple take! The voice-over narration is part of the framing device in which a grandfather is telling stories to his grandson. The characters and models were created by Kevin Detwiler in Animation:Master. The terrain backgrounds were created in Vue.

As if I hadn’t enough going, I’ve begun a new project, “Give it up!”. This is a very very short story (a couple of minutes) made from yet another piece by Franz Kafka. Staging and head modeling is done 100% in A:M, but the bodies of the characters, their UV-mapping etc. as well as the rendering as seen here, are done in Zbrush. They’ll later be imported into A:M and rigged, animated and rendered there.

As the light bounces off the walls it takes on the wall's color. OmniTestEH.mov A typical Cornell box image takes about an hour to render with radiosity, but this takes about 15 seconds per frame to render. This scene also has something in it that technically doesn't exist in A:M. Can anyone guess what it is? There are clues in the render.

It has been a while since I've posted any fun stuff I've made with A:M... I use Element3D and C4D more and more these days... but a client wanted this animated globe with photos being stuck to it by pins and thinking how to rig it up in either of those 2 apps gave me 'the fits'. This simply uses 'orient like' and 'translate to' constraints for the photos and pins to get them to rotate and stay in place on the globe as I spin it. All moving elements in A:M... text and post was done in AE. Funny thing on this job... the client- a young woman(not that that matters) did not understand why I needed to spin the globe at all. Can't you get India, China, Austria, Portugal an…

Hi guys and gals. I finished a couple of videos. I wish I had more time. Could easily spend hours on a few frames to get smoother animation. Other things I would like to do is change is my rig to one of the pre made AM ones. My rig feels to stiff. If I had more time I would learn more about AM particles and also add alot more texturing. I can fully understand why it takes hundreds of people to make animated movies. I want to make more of these videos when I have time and would appreciate any comments and suggestions to improve. Thanks

Robcat has offered me a chance to do some learning. He has three courses to teach. I would very much like to have others join in on this class and if your interested please post here to become involved. Once we have enough I will defer control to Robcat who will be doing the teaching. The animation courses being offered are the following: 1 bouncing ball 2 broad jump 3 three emotions On a side note, Rob if no one is interested I am still very interested in learning what you have to offer.
