It's a tree. Done as a foliage test, the groundcover needs more work. Built in about 10 minutes with treeZ, the render took a lot longer.

Not sure where the old thread is in the archives, if it's there at all. This is a render in V15 of an older project where I was trying to animate this tree growing from a sprout to a full grown tree. This is the full grown tree. This tree is actually a large set of smaller "branch" models assembled in the choreography. If I could assemble them as a single composite model it would be preferred, but I haven't figured out how to do that yet. I wish I could iteratively build the whole tree from a small number of tweakable branch models. Any ideas? Here is an early test animation with a scaled down version: Tree growth animation test. And a closeup: T…

Hi Hashers Just thought I'd post another image from my third Bella Bear story just for fun... This shows you what happens when you go hang gliding on a kite without a licence I have nearly finished this third story (storyboard format) and once done I am anxious to start animating some of the scenes... that should be fun

Hello everyone, I was wondering, is there a more recent version of the TreeZ plug-in than I'm using? I don't know which one I'm using, but it still has some bugs:

Hi Friends..... Today I start a project, I want to accomplish since last year. This is an animation project I want to conclude by June 2012, to be presented at the 12th edition of Animamundi. The project is called "Trem do Pantanal 2020" and, of course, will happen in 2020. In the state where I live, is the largest flooded area in the world, a sanctuary of natural life, which houses hundreds of birds, mammals and a myriad of insects, this place is called the Pantanal. Had in past years, a train coming out of Campo Grande (capital) and went through this huge area bound for Santa Cruz de la Sierra in Bolivia (1500 km), his name was "Trem do Pantanal". Many attempts…

Four legged critters are very hard to rig, even harder to animate. I've always been a fan of The Last Unicorn so I decided to model and rig The Red Bull. Here are my results thus far.....

I normally don't do this, but I think if I post how I go through the different processes of making a render, I think I can actually finish an entire scene for once. Last night I had a crazy vision of some lost and forgotten tricycle sitting outside of an abandoned grocery store. There were lots of earthen tones and bright white lights. I just drew up an image of what I saw, and I intend to make the whole scene in animation master! Here's what I have so far: I plan on coloring this image to get a better target for contrast in the image I have this delusion of rendering out the whole scene in radisoity, but I need to try and suppress that in order to actua…

Hey- I am making a 'GRANDSTAND' a lot of seats that will be viewed from afar but need to be there... I've made some simple geometry that holds a cookie cut decal, but when I go to render... every-other row of seats comes out fuzzy! I've tried rotating the image... checked normals... I can't figure out what causes this imperfection...?

Hello- I was attempting the tutorial on Newton Physics... the one where you have 3 cylinders that are supposed to tumble on themselves. http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?act=A...st&id=19636 Each cylinder is set to be a dynamic object and the ground is static. Pretty basic stuff, but I get this error message when I right click on one of the cylinders in Choreography: I am using V17a and after receiving the error message I copied the "explode.hxt" from the V16 Hxt folder into the v17 Hxy folder ,thinking that might help...(because there was no "explode.hxt" in the v17 folder). Didn't help... Has anyone had similar issues...or any sugges…

I've seen a few Lego models made with A:M earlier, and since I played with Lego all the time as a kid I wanted to model a Lego model myself. Yet again I went to a toy store and bought a toy. I must say that I don't like all the new special bricks they make now, I miss the good old Lego. Anyway, I went for a truck (with a push_forward_engine), and after a few days here is the result: I've made every single brick (with bevels everywhere), even the bricks not visible, no cheating, cause I wanted to test the Newton plug-in on this one. Unfortunately I have had no luck with the plug-in yet, need to experiment some more. I've attached two renders, one standard AO with a li…

Hi. I was working on this for a while. After many many sleepless nights I have finished this! At last! Ok, I am joking about sleepless nights... actually I had some problems with textures. And I am very tired of this testing textures and lighting. The main idea was to make something similar to Xmas postcard, in the end I refused this idea... But as always C&C welcome!

had a few free evenings lately and put together a living room mostly of models i´ve made some time ago, tried to fake a radiosity feel, so it would be suitable for animation... this render in 1024x768 took about 50 minutes (16pass) on my 2 year old mac book pro, a vga resolution with 9 passes takes about 15 minutes. a lot of time goes into computing the reflections in the window, for a still it would be no problem to fake it with a decal, but for animation? the lighting setup was a mixture of bulb and klieglights as described in yves tutorial (but only one bulb with only one ray casting shadows for faster rendering), but i mixed it also with heiners skylighter (thanks for…

During the creation of this beast, I did something that I do with other 3d programs.....I split the thing into separate projects, so each body part ( mostly) has a separate project file. Its just easier for me to work this way. However, I have come to the point where I want to start bringing these parts into the same project file, but I cannot seem to find a way to save the model out as a .mdl file from within the project----although there seems to be an option to import them from the File menu. So, if someone could give me the Saving and Importing .mdl files for Dummies version, I will post a picture of my dragon as he exists so far. I am sure its some…

I've been working on figuring out how to create a furry character for a few weeks, and have had very little success with Animation Master's hair material. What I've been able to get so far: http://members.shaw.ca/nekosei/others/naote0.jpg http://members.shaw.ca/nekosei/others/naote1.jpg http://members.shaw.ca/nekosei/others/naote2.jpg All slightly different variations of the density settings. But you can see why I'm having problems. The fur looks too uniform in placement, even with the position variation set to 100%. Recently I installed the DarkTree plugins, and got the spotted fur texture applied to her after working on materials to get the fade …

I have been messing around animating different stuff, trying to get a handle on timing so that I may complete ABC. I have problems with thinking something is to fast or to slow, and never really know which one it is untill I render it and it comes out like this. Hi, I've been planning to complete several projects in AM but I can't seem to get things rolling at a good pace. So I figured that if I post some WIPs I might be spurred along by the forum and eventually complete something. I usually have a few things going on at once so its a little difficult to concentrate on one project through to completion. I will try to change that for the new year. Hopefully I can find some success by doing this. The project I'm currently working on is fairly complex with numerous characters and a very detailed background with lots of action. It will be a still. I am doing this only for my own amusement, especially since it would probably be ea…

I found some files of martial arts wizs that display the talents of some respected stunt people in hollywood before they became so hot they don't need reels of their work anymore... I'm not sure if their is a law against rotoscoping to someones actions on video, but it's good practice for me, since I stink at animation... Maybe I should just make an online comic-book instead of trying to flesh things out in animation. By no means am I finished with it--having problems with getting the hands to stay put--FK. I'll post the reference vid in the next post Check out the result I rendered out... HSM1Lg_Prog001.mov
