Hey Hashers! I did not know what to get you all for Xmas and you were ALL on my list...so I made a neat little model! This is a graphic firework (see movie for example) that is safe so you won't blow your fingers off. The effect makes use of Hash's boolean feature to reveal and unreveal the burst. You can make your own bursts to change things up... There are 2 poses with the model- 1 reveals the burst and the other UNreveals it... HAVE FUN! Have a VERY Spliney Holidays! I am getting more confident in my modeling ability, so I thought I would challenge myself and TRY to model a motorcycle. Below is a couple of pics of the actual bike and the front wheel that I started on. I think one of my problems is too many CPs, but as you can see from the CPs pic there is a lot of detail around the wheel rim and the indented black area - that I have a lot of CPs in, which I think I need, but not sure if there is a simpler and better way to do it - I would love any advice on that and anything else. Also, the tire I just put a torus on there as a filler - I'll do the tires last and try to get suggestions on the best way to do it. Thanks for any …

I'm trying to add some haze to a night scene, but all settings convert it to daylight [camera background color being white] I tried other colors, but they don't look right. I tried black, which preserved the 'night-ness' but loses the sense of haze in the fore ground. How to get a light haze with a night sky?

I have a chor with lots of sprites and hair. When the sprites and hair are turned on to realtime shaded in the chor view, it's almost impossible to do anything because everything is slowed down to a crawl. As a matter of fact, if I forget to turn off the shaded view, save the chor and try to reopen AM with shaded hair and particles turned on, AM doesn't want to open at all, or it takes a very long time to do so. My problem is this: Since I can't work in the chor with realtime shaded turned on, I obviously turn that off. However, when I render, I want the hair and sprites to show, so I turn hair and particles to "ON". Once the render is complete, Hair and particl…

I started this model-no rotoscopes/drawings or pictures by demonstrating to a friend how to construct an eye, then it sort of got fleshed out when I had nothing better to do. Now I cant help but feel I got something a bit wrong, but I may be too involved in his face. He seems to resemble me a lot as well.

Started this yesterday and finished most of the splining for the face today. Here is a quick render. The decal applied is the reference image used to model it. Rendered with AO and one light using 1 decal and the Skin shader. No SSS because it always comes out black ... I still need to finish modeling the lips and eyelids, and then create eyes that are non-decal. I don't like how the nose looks, and am having trouble finding good reference on how it looks from the side : \ I am going to try to make this the full thing with hair and what not so bear with Comments and Crits welcome on the splinage ... If anyone sees any ways to make it more efficient pl…

HEY! Sorry if this has been a topic before, I may have missed it...but I just caught a great 'toon made with A:M at YouTube.com called 'Slap Happy'... UN-friggin-believably cool... credits go to R.Cory Collins and Eggington for the set... WARNING: 'Three Stooges' slap-stick humor. AND--- I just found another one called 'SPRUNT' by Stuart Lloyd...HILARIOUS! I won't give the link because I don't want to offend the 'parents' among us. BIG WARNING do not search for this if you are easily offended by sexual-themed animations...DEFINATELY DO NOT SEARCH FOR SPRUNT ON YOUTUBE. It's actually amazing to see some of the work being done by people who …

I haven't posted in a long while, ever since I returned to college to get my Masters (done) and Doctorate in Music Composition. Also I haven't animated in a couple years, but this summer I got the A:M subscription and decided to make a five-movement work for animation and electronic music. I thought I would post the YouTube links here so you all could check it out. I learned a lot I didn't know about A:M in the process, and actually had to rerender an entire movement after finding a better way to do something. Anyway, without further adieu, here they are: I "Purple": II "Industry": III "Red": IV "Interlude": V "Blue":

This is my first fully rigged character in AM. His name is Murphy and he presently has 25 facial morph targets with 3 more to add. This was an exercise to see what AM could do as I usually use Blender,Maya, and Max. I'm going to do some animation shots at the end of this week.

Hi, I have been playing a little with constraints and 2008 rig lately. Mark is doing invaluable work with his rig. Automatic keyframing in A:M with on-off pose switches makes it much easier. I plan other tests for the other characters. constraints_test2.mov Michel

Doubt I'll be able to finish this in time, but would still like to hear your thoughts... specifically related to: 1. Concept 2. Readability 3. Pacing 4. Staging These are coworkers, and the picture on the wall behind the girl is her manager. It's rough, but should be enough for you "directors" to evaluate. Thanks! Mark (1.6Mb, Sorenson 3 Mov.) I will post more info after I start making more progress. For now this is what I get when I fool around with the sweeper plugin after 5minutes of modeling, SSS, and AO. I recommend opening this image in Photoshop and viewing at 100%. There is some fine texture like detail generated by SSS that can only be seen at full res. On a side note I got that 010 error and it took raising the values in SSS to work around it. www.hdjibguy.com

Hello all- I have a sequence of 26 images that I am using as sprite particles. Two questions that I haven't been able to figure out yet: 1) Can you make each image being used as a sprite last longer that 1 frame? 2) Can you make the 26 images cycle over and over? At the moment, after frame 26, the animation just uses the last image and repeats it to the end... Thanks for any insights!! Tom

I need some help on a few things. First~~ The control system of this short range light fighter. I have two extended panels for interment panels or tech readouts but I'm not sure of how to have steering controls mostly what type. Second~~ My material creation still sucks and I was hoping that some one had a material or a quick tutorial on a good space ship hull material. Third~~ Well...I thing overall the design is good but some second opinions would be good

One of Many models I am working on for a personal project: It was inspired by the following image. Plus Crabs, Spiders and Turtles. Feng Zhu inspiration Here is afront leg about 2/3 modelled. I will take any constructive criticism OTHER THAN: Too many patches, I would have used a 5 point patch, etc...I model the patch style I do and I'm content.

Hey everyone, most of you who know me know that I have mostly been posting in the topic Super Mario Film, but now I feel less inspired to finish it. Lately I’ve been feeling more creative, and working on a project that was a spoof of nintendo’s super mario brothers didn’t feel right. So I decided to bring the project I had been working on before back to life. Three years ago I started having an idea for a show that featured 8 characters who lived near each other on an island, and they would do all kinds of stuff. Over the years I’ve come up with tons of funny ideas for the show and developed the characters so much that now they feel like a part of me, and it wou…

Hello - just finished up a 12 1/2 minutes long Crown Moulding installation video. It came out pretty good - it was pretty technical because I had to create a tape measure with accurate measurement througout the room, drill screws in, cut the moulding on a saw, apply spacking and sand it off. It was fun, but seemed to go on forever. ;-) Anyway, it's on my site if anyone wants to take a look at it - www.flashanimationwebsitedesign.com - on the lower middle section - "2D and 3D Flash Demonstrations. It's button "06" - 6th sample on the row. - Eric

working on some art for an iphone game i'm building and here's my 2nd attempt at armor. v3 will probably be my keeper. this armor set is what all my units will wear primarily with different textures for each race and the few unique armors that actually change the graphic of a unit on the battle screen, will be additional shoulder pads and helmets to this basic armor model. for instance 6 different armors all have this model for their base armor set but differ from each other by shoulder/head graphic. did it in about 5 hours and the video took about 2 hours to render haha. i'm considering trying a v2.5 with a more cartoony, Mii style character model with bubblie…

Hello - for those of you that are tired of my dental animation... sorry. ;-) This one is actually pretty cool - it is for a dentist that created a new patented "braces" application combining the 3 current brace systems. The animation starts by showing the traditional 3, then his idea of combining the three and how it would work - then possibilities of what can be done with them. I had to start completely from scratch with new teeth and gums and everything, because in parts of the anim we had to make the gums transparent to see the correction of the teeth and roots. Anyway, just a warning watch when you are not sleepy - it might just put you out. ;-) http://www.fl…

I tried to export a clean obj polygonmesh from an absolut symetrical patch model (A) and get strange ireggularities especially in the fivepointpatches. Hi all, I completly redid the Focke Wulf, I had found someplace and that I have used for my "propeller spin thread" . I also gave it a less martial more "Howard Hughian" look. Also added some poses for easy handling. You can roll , turn, tilt and steer the rudder, also retract the wheels and open the canopy. (see movie) Please feel free to take and use this model at your will. Maybe show us some testflights? Next I plan to implement John`s propeller speed technic as soon as I get a grasp of it. (Thats the propeller speed pose has to be filled up for, still nofunction) speed1.prj FockeWulfTest.mov
