  1. It's a very good program for producing models quickly once you get the workflow down and "unlearn" polygon edgeflow techniques as they in many instances do not apply to patch edgeflow techniques in AM. Producing "smooth" models is easy once this is done along with using the porcelain.mat Since I'm familiar with what makes a good rig, using constraints, point weighting,IK,and the art of rigging itself, it's super fast in this regard. The animation and UV tools are very capable. But, the hair engine needs more work. The grooming tools work great but the look of rendered hair needs work.In looking through the AM:Stills and Films gallery, it confirms my thoughts. I've tried and got marginal results. Also, the particle engine can be improved for better VFX. My verdict: It'a an excellent package to learn 3D with, it's bone and rigging tools are second to none. It shines at it's best at producing quick cartoon 3D models and animation. If you need to produce it quickly, use AM. P.S. I love the Tak trailers in the film gallery! A good example of what my verdict is.
  2. This is my first fully rigged character in AM. His name is Murphy and he presently has 25 facial morph targets with 3 more to add. This was an exercise to see what AM could do as I usually use Blender,Maya, and Max. I'm going to do some animation shots at the end of this week.
  3. Looks like you have a five point patch linking the eyebrow to the forehead near the end eyebrow point (guaranteed crease!) Find an alternate spline route to produce a smooth surface. You can model a smooth surface without porcelain.
