So I was reading through the post by Grubber called Mecha. And I was inspired. So I made a robot. I'm still trying to figure out if I like the legs and the feet though. I also can't seem to come up for a name for it. All suggestions and comments are most definitley welcome. -Robert

I figured I would post him here, I'm going to try and get him as a workable character. This is my first real character (I scrapped the one I was working with during the tutorials). The TSM rig works good, but you'll see some issues I have, notably with the foot in front on top not looking right. If you saw him in the other thread, you might notice shorter arms, thicker wrist, no neck and different feet. This first one is a test walk. Some issues I have: - His feet descend below ground level between keys. I'm not sure why. On all the keys his feet are on the line. - He's got flat feet syndrome big time. I think this is a model and rig issue. - Not …

My Robot Movie 1 2

***Warning Graphics Intensive - Loading Images... *** Alright, time to get serious. Here is what I plan to keep my focus on for the immediate future. The parameters leave me a lot of room to experiment and learn how to put together a movie. Not to mention experiment with a full spectrum of modeling, action, fx, and testing, testing, testing... At it's core is the germ of an idea: John Henderson said he liked it so... It's got to be worth pursuing I'm thinking. Tentatively my overarching title is simply: My Robot Movie This forum is the inspiration. I'll try to credit where credit is due... and learn from my mistakes. Wish me luck…

here's my latest model of my room. i still have to add a lot a decals to the posters and add some more paintings but at the moment i think it looks pretty good P.S. i know making the edges curved would make it look a lot more real, but that adds twice as many control points to the project and then everything gets really slow. Comments Appreciated

In trying to decide what colors i want to paint my room, I'm builing a full scale replica of it in A:M to see how each color choice will effect the rest of the room. So far all i have is the basic furniture and main structure built. I'm not sure if i want to go as far as modeling every little trinket i have on my computer desk or shelf, but I may just end up doing that for the fun of it. Matt built the bed for me, but i'm gunna try and make it not look so perfectly beveled, texture it, and give it a not so boxy pillow. anyways, here's the first render I've made so far.

Here are two of my scripts, one is finished (The Apartment Sketch) And the other (the Juggler) isn't finished yet, but it's very good, I think. Let me know what you think... They're both in Word format right now, but I can convert them if anyone needs it... The_Juggler.doc

Here is the project file for my Shaggy and Scooby. I couldn't include the chor because of the size of the file. Shaggy is rigged, but there is a problem with the contraints on one of the right hand fingers. No smartskin. SHaggy's hair isn't finished. There's a few basic bones in Scooby for the tail and ears. If anyone uses these just let me know what you used them for and post it here so we can all see it . These models were built quickly for the contest, so they are probably no good for animation. If someone does get a decent rig and animation with these guys let us know that too. I also did a quick toon render of them in the model window. I didn't …

i have lights around my ship, but they don't render for some reason. On the engines there are red lights and on the ship . . . i don't no why they didn't render. But, this is my space ship that i did, tell me what you think update: for some reason the red lights now render, but if you look close at the space ship, their are chain guns mounted on the top and on the glowing engines, the yellow lights that are just bone lights, set with no specularity, do not render.

Been working with AM for a while off and on (trying to be as much "on" as possible more recently). This is my take on "The Door's Stuck". If anyone could take a look at it and tell me what you think, I'd appreciate it. It may take a bit to DL, as it's approx 20M in QT format; any ideas on how to keep animations smaller would also be welcome. Take a look... ftp://64.227.193.8/stuck.mov Thanks, Rich

The show has a lot of sexual innuendo, etc. If you like it, please help me out by giving it a 5 star rating! This is the movie I needed render help on a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately it's still large, 13megs, but it's two minutes and has sound. I could probably get it smaller, maybe with better audio compression. There are a number of rough edges but considering the circumstances I'm pretty happy with it. I may tweak it a little and re-render it for the reel but for now this is it. However crits are welcome. ISD Games promo movie

Started working on a new slider model that has hair poses. You'll be able to change color, length and slide to different hair styles. It's still in the early stages, but I thought I'd show you to see what you think. I plan on adding a slider for a ponytail too. I used Jane from the cd for my test subject. Any comments and suggestions will be appreciated.

Well This was my quick test to get a feel for A:M. No decals or stuff like that. I just wanted to play with the modeller. Learn how to join parts together etc. I know the edges around the eyes are too harsh but its a learning experience. I know now what not to do etc lol. So about to redo him from scratch but thought I would show it anyway. Cheers Mike R

Just a little programming note: This upcoming Sunday the 19th of September a program will premiere on The History Channel entitled "The Battle of Tripoli". I did just about all of the visual effects and broadcast graphics for the show, so it involves a lot of Animation:Master output. Namely, all of the maps, ship models, and some of the battle simulation were done using A:M. I believe it is in the prime time slot--it airs at 8pm (Pacific time) on our DirectTV, which may mean it also airs three hours before that (or 8pm eastern time)...but anyway, just check your local listings, if you are interested in taking a look. Thanks!

Okay... this was my first model right out of the box..... I have since changed my mind about the design (I am working on an independent production that will have animated aspects, and decided to try it myself) I feel it needs to be weathered.... so it doesn't look so shiny and new. And, I'm having some difficultied boning it so things don't overlap... the rockets are designed to rotate on the base, and revolve 360 around an axis, but they seem to turn off the axis at certain angle.... I would like to figure out how to "limit" their movements to one axis. You can't get too technical with me.... I will admit I'm more creative than technical. So.... whadd…

Emerald Pictures and Sapphire Animation, both independent production companies made up of completely volunteer workers, are working together to develop and produce "Myrl," a fantasy/adventure epic. We're currently in the development process of everything (and have been for the past year trying to get the story just right) and will begin pre-production in June and hopefully begin animation in the later fall (end-September). The reason I am posting this is because we're currently looking for volunteers for the following: Note: The numbers in the () symbols are how many we need of that type of artist. This is my latest WIP. Buy I'd like some suggestions. I find my work always looks too sterile. I'm not good at lighting and I'm not handy at "dirtying things up," giving them a "used" look. You fellas who are so good at photo realism would probably have a few tips. Thanks, Ed Doyle

Someone emailed me who had heard I did Star Wars models for A:M, and wanted me to make a Naboo for their fanfilm. I'd done planets before so I agreed. Tell me what you think before I send it to him. By the way, it's a sphere with a green planet map on it with a high blue ambiance, inside a sphere using a transparency map that is the color white.

OK.. so I posted some progress on this guy a loooooooong time back, and I've been back at him for about a month now. I've actually done his head 3 times.. Its hard getting the right mix. But I think I'm on the right track now (maybe) I've also got one other body thats not near as beafy, but I like him being more hulk like. I think this ones got legs ( goat legs but those still count right?) Opinions, rips, and general constructive criticism is greatly appreciated. Ohhh and even though I love his skin.. its probably going to have to change (at least the method) this material took over 9 hours to render one frame at 16 passes [attachmentid=14239] …

Hi, guys. It's been a while. 8 month project and not yet over. I've worked with Dr. Eric Drexler to design and animate a nanotechnology device of the future. We are not just making science fiction pictures. This is as real a design as we can make it even though it will be ten years or more before we can build it. Dr. Drexler has three published books in nano and is considered by many to be the father of this industry. He co-founded the Foresight Institute, www.foresight.org The device of this animation is a desktop factory which can take in acetylene, tear it apart and create product from the atoms. I have always been interested in nanotechnology since I read …

Well, I'm getting some new found respect for feature length animations and what it takes to render them. My small Nautilus animation is at 92% and has been rendering all night - 15:21 hours so far. It's only 640x240 but the light reflections, water reflections, etc, are really taking a render toll. 7 seconds long = 18 hours render time on my computer Still need to run a wake and splash animation to composite it with the main track. I'm really happy with the way it looks so far though. Again, I can't say enough about Mark's fantastic work he's done with the ocean generator. I shudder to think how much extra processing time it would take to render this with displace…

Hi all: I am resurrecting an old model, Disney's Nautilus, and am having a strange thing happen. When I try to render the submarine with fog, the fog does not show up in the final render. To compare, I rendered a whale and it came out fine, fog n' all. The attached pic shows both models, the Nautilus and the whale positioned in the same space in the chor to show you what I mean. As you can see, the whale's back end is shrouded in the fog as intended, but the Nautilus's stern is rendering like there is no fog applied. Mind you, this is not two renders superimposed, this is one render with fog and two models in the same general area. Why and how does the Naut…

Anything, dosen't matter what is it. Just so I can get a nice touch with the program. (I have done all the tutorials.) And one more thing, is it worth upgrading to V13? I'm running v11.1 now. //Korken
