We are working on our first CG film over here after a few years of traditional stop-motion work. Our problem is in deciding which route to take. We are leaning toward cel shading for the project we are planning. It seems to compliment the stop-motion work done in the past, but second opinions are always welcome here. Hey...just something I thrutogether yesterday for a DVD menu. Reminds me of the old joke..."I spent a WEEK in Detroit one day..." Try not to get mugged while watching this... Of interesting note...other than the Renaissance Center and one or two other building, the whole city is a copy-paste of one model...the 'Ambassador Bridge' is a model I had lying around, as are all the vehicles and other props. I am re-rendering right now to slow it down from 6 sec to 8 sec...plus I populated it a bit more. DETROIT_ZOOM2sm.mov

I saw this old cartoon picture with the monster character driving his hotrod it was from the mid 60's. Anyway just goofing around and got this cartoon car idea although not a very detailed or accurate version and then cartoon rendered what I had so far. Might add the character next ... just a fun side project Johnl3d ...burp no more food pleae.

A few years ago I had sketched out a design for a spacecraft and proceeded to model it in AM. I could never get the fuselage right. A few times a year I'd pull the model up and hack away on it but it just wasn't fulfilling my original vision. Sunday afternoon I had a what-the-hell moment and converted it to AM13. For whatever reason, it suddenly came together. I have a drawer full of old drawings with many a spacecraft sketch, but this one has always been my favorite; now it appears that I might finally be able to get it flying.

OK...I had a glitch that was crashing my render and lost a few days, but here is the Mustang again...added more detail- rear parking lights...wheel decals... this test shows some rigging...wheels turn...steerage etc... I am trying to capture in animation some of the 'overboard-dynamics' that cartoonists have been putting in illustrated cars for years. GLITCHES: Ms.D's hair goes thru the roof...I'll have to add an interior roof panel with normals facing down and hope the collision detection honors it. Also, at the last minute I thru in some smoke...which has lots of weirdness...Also, the wheels are off the ground at the start...and the sound is just thrown in... …

i made this logo for a pod cast wesite that asked for logo submission's its called "This Week in Technologie" i was going to try useing hair to make the strands come out of the end of wires but it is for a low rez logo and it wouldnt who up well. it was fun figureing out how to get the twist in the wire 'wire Man' 'Wire Man' toon version

One of Many models I am working on for a personal project: It was inspired by the following image. Plus Crabs, Spiders and Turtles. Feng Zhu inspiration Here is afront leg about 2/3 modelled. I will take any constructive criticism OTHER THAN: Too many patches, I would have used a 5 point patch, etc...I model the patch style I do and I'm content.

Hi gang. I finally have a showable version of my first music video for crit. This is the project that led me to A:M 3 years ago. After 2 starts, 1: in Strata and Poser, 2: in A:M 9.5 (enough said about that), and now in A:M 10.5. Even though it is quite rough, I am quite happy how it turned out. I would love to hear what you like and don't like, and don't worry, I'm not easily offended. I made it as small as possible 5.4 megs for 1.5 minutes using the On2 codec. If you have trouble veiwing it, please let me know. I can post a Sorrenson 3 version, but for similar quality it comes in at 8.8 meg. Here it is Just My Imagination

OK I admit it, I just had to play with the sweeper plugin. One thing led to another and before I know it, I wind up with this. NOw I just got to add a domed city at the end of the tube , moving cars and a couple more tubes. Oh yeah and spaceships.

Hello All, I was wondering if there is a "Make Spherical Map" button in Photoshop? Plugin? I have an image that I would like to use as a spherical decal, and I know the top and bottom need to be "stretched" so they map on the Sphere correctly, but I don't know an easy way to do this. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Eugene

I'm so excited! - I know this is not much by many standards, but the clip below features a model completely created and rigged by me and is my best work so far in A:M. Using Mike Caputo's rigging tutorial from the A.R.M., I managed to accomplish a simple but working animateable rig. Alas, the links to these tutorials are currently dead, but hopefully will be up again soon. If anyone has info on his "FK to IK" arm tutorial, please forward. I've got it working pretty well, but I believe I'm missing a step when constraining the "IK Bicep to Elbow". I am learning simCloth after purchasing the 2005 Siggraph DVD from Hash, Inc. I posted my dice character earlier. I now have a walk cycle for him. I tried constructing it three different ways. First, I tried starting with the down positions, then the contact positions. My final try was starting with the hip up and down motion and then going back to the beginning and, starting with the contact positions, went straight ahead. I liked this one the best. None of them were hard to put together, but I attribute that to A:M's great tools rather than my skill. I am posting my last effort. Heya all, Long story short: my powerbook (G4 1.33GHz, 1.25 gig of ram, GeForce 5200 64 meg of video ram) died last month and I cobbled together a PC out of parts while waiting for Apple to figure out how to fix it. The PC: - GeForce 2 GTS (32 meg of video ram, AGP 1 or 2, I'm not sure) - 512 Meg of ram - 1.1 GHz athalon A friend of mine urged me to dust off my 2005 disc and try AM again on the PC, just to see, and wow! Despite being a shadow of my Mac laptop, AM *screamed* on this PC. (The funny part is that it sat caseless on my desk for a while as well, cables snaking out from the motherboard.) I made this up for back drop picture for High end Transformer Figures display case. I have to send out to be printed very large Display Case. Then i got A brain fart. Hey guys, so eventually I want to make an action type short animation with the models I've made and I figure I have to get good at action type animation between 2 or more characters. Well, I couldn't sleep last night so I figured I'd burn off the energy by getting started on some excersizes. I'm certainly in no way happy about the outcome, but I figure I'd share as I always seem to get some good feedback from everyone here. What I did, in a nutshell, I created a bouncing fighter stance for each character and then cycled it until the punches start getting thrown. I noticed during animation that it is sort of tuff to show the effects of quick little act…

Just went as far as I felt like with this model of mine......It has a few poses for steering, brake lever, doors etc. If I were to do it over it would have alot less patches. the model is in one zip file and materials and textures in another file if you want. Happy Hashing, Michael First a pic

I've been working on this model for a number of months, and I've finally rendered something presentable. It still needs some work, but I'm very happy with it as it is. Hi all, I created a simple table that I made an action for that does a basic walk cycle on a path. I also created a choreography action that transitions the walk to a stop. It worked great last night but for some reason it doesn't appear to be working now. Would someone please take a look at the project (I'm using V15.0i) and see what I'm doing wrong? Hi Gang More Questions as always Found a post by dre4merback in July of 2006 and like to know more about it. http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=22912 I have checked through this thread and the vid clips are what I am looking for on my model. I have my model rigged with the 2001 rig and need her sleeves to move like the above movies, so how did you do that? What bones is the cloth attached to? I have done the cloth and deflector materials and created new bones, tested all kinds of ideas and just can't seem to get it. If I attach the material to different arm bones when you move the arm it rolls and flips but nothing like cloth, any suggestions?dre…

It's not often I get the time to sit down and actually use A:M - certainly nowhere near as often as I would like. I haven't posted in a long while, ever since I returned to college to get my Masters (done) and Doctorate in Music Composition. Also I haven't animated in a couple years, but this summer I got the A:M subscription and decided to make a five-movement work for animation and electronic music. I thought I would post the YouTube links here so you all could check it out. I learned a lot I didn't know about A:M in the process, and actually had to rerender an entire movement after finding a better way to do something.
