Hi gang. I finally have a showable version of my first music video for crit. This is the project that led me to A:M 3 years ago. After 2 starts, 1: in Strata and Poser, 2: in A:M 9.5 (enough said about that), and now in A:M 10.5. Even though it is quite rough, I am quite happy how it turned out. I would love to hear what you like and don't like, and don't worry, I'm not easily offended. I made it as small as possible 5.4 megs for 1.5 minutes using the On2 codec. If you have trouble veiwing it, please let me know. I can post a Sorrenson 3 version, but for similar quality it comes in at 8.8 meg. Here it is Just My Imagination

Not much done on this scene yet, but I thought I'd post it so far. Batman's actually not going to be in the final, but I needed SOMETHING other than just the buildings for now. I have big plans for this...hopefully they'll develop quickly

I took a break from building models and decided to start learning about poses and facial animation. Here a link to 4 very small clips. I have no way of assembling them. It is getting easier each every as some things become familiar. Questions: a) If I attach these heads to their respective bodies will they remember the poses? Is it better to import the body into the head file or vice versa? c) If I rig the faces and them import them onto a rigged body, can I combine the rigs by moving the bone files intot hte proper hierachy? thanks, Gaetan Facial Clips Test

Hey guys, okay, a new clip. While I'm posting these in the WIPs section, I don't plan on refining very much as I want to avoid what I always do.... get caught up working on one thing over and over again. So, my idea is to just sit down when I get a chance and smoosh something together. this took about 30 minutes yesterday and about 20 minutes today. http://www.vrcops.com/vids/TableTossE1.mov Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com

I've been working on this metal flake material, in v8.5, in my spare time. I really wanted to capture the sparkling quality as the perspective changed. I rememberd a tuturial by Charles Babbage: "Diffraction Grating 101", where he used a multi-gradient tree for specular accents. I figured I could do the same thing for a whole material by adjusting the "edge surface" property, by rotating you see the same material slightly offset with some colors attributes switched, giving it a twinkling appearance. Still needs a little work. Metal Flake Test .MOV If someone would like to repost, please do so. (low, low bandwidth) And incase your wondering "Why did he…

The music playing - suddenly it stops. The world is not the same. Who stopped the music? Who played the music? In a silent world we have to begin to think and feel trusting ourselves and each other. Sharing some warmth in a cold world. I made this, well... because I can. Win7_Anim_Logo_TL_01.prj Not completely happy with it as I could not get the specularity on the lens to show properly, but my skills at lighting are not that great. *sigh* It's intended for widescreen 16:9 (1.35 Aspect setting in A:M's Camera) monitors as Windows 7 does NOT correct aspect ratio upon rendering the animation. The second image is an uncorrected 1:1 (1.0 Aspect setting in A:M's Camera)version here as well as the embedded project file (v14.0 only, sorry haven't upgraded yet) link. EDIT: Here are the videos, as promised. 16:9 and 1:1 respectively. test000_16.9.movtest000_1.1.mov My farm is current…

I love modeling objects more than people... i wonder why? lol Does anyone know what happend to the anti-alies control in rendering? My piano stereo is divoide of smooth edges! Hello - been working on a second tooth animation for my dentist client, the first one was the Veneers. This second one was much more challenging, I had to set up several pose sliders to get the different effects. The most interesting part was creating the "impression" which is like a lump of clay on a mouthpiece that goes in the mouth - then having it pull out w/ an impression of the teeth in the clay. Anyway, here it is if anyone is curious. It's on my site - the lower center under section "2D & 3D Flash Demonstations" - it's the first one just click on "VIEW" http://www.flashanimationwebsitedesign.com/ Thanks for all the help from my posts - Eric

W.I.P. I showed this model (actually pictures of this model) to the attendees of the most recent MAAM user group meeting in Philadelphia PA. I did not have the wire frames to show at the time so I have posted them here today. I have been trying to settle on the overall look of my project and I am leaning towards an toon-lined/ semi-realistic style. This is still a WIP. I have yet to complete a number of things with this model that I intend to complete. Such as: Costume changes. Adding hair to the model. Finishing the rigging and smart skinning of the model. Applying textures to the model. Any questions, comments, and/ or constru…

Some of you might remember this guy. After hearing Shaun Freeman talk about face rigs and facial animation the other night I realized there was no way given the layout of my models beak it would work...so I redid the beak and surrounding mesh. I still don't know if it will work but I think now at least it will have a better shot. I also redid the decal and applied porcelin. 1st time using porcelin and all I can say is I like it alot. Anyways let me know what you think.

Im planning on adding a ship on the launchpad and finishing the crane (under construction on the right side) which will probably make the road look more like background rather than the focus of the image. here's a small render of the pic as it stands straight out of the renderer. This is Shirley, She is getting close to completion, she will be eventually turned into a fairy and will be part of a short film I'm making as part of my masters degree in computer animation. I have two other characters to model for it also, but they will come after Christmas. just a quick Modeling Time-lapse to show her developing. There are some spline issues and smoothing that needs to be done, but some of the bad splinesmanship is because shes actually due to go into another app. Time_Lapse.mov

Heya all, Long story short: my powerbook (G4 1.33GHz, 1.25 gig of ram, GeForce 5200 64 meg of video ram) died last month and I cobbled together a PC out of parts while waiting for Apple to figure out how to fix it. The PC: - GeForce 2 GTS (32 meg of video ram, AGP 1 or 2, I'm not sure) - 512 Meg of ram - 1.1 GHz athalon A friend of mine urged me to dust off my 2005 disc and try AM again on the PC, just to see, and wow! Despite being a shadow of my Mac laptop, AM *screamed* on this PC. (The funny part is that it sat caseless on my desk for a while as well, cables snaking out from the motherboard.) It's two months later and after two small modeling proje…

Hello All, I was wondering if there is a "Make Spherical Map" button in Photoshop? Plugin? I have an image that I would like to use as a spherical decal, and I know the top and bottom need to be "stretched" so they map on the Sphere correctly, but I don't know an easy way to do this. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Eugene

Hey guys, so eventually I want to make an action type short animation with the models I've made and I figure I have to get good at action type animation between 2 or more characters. Well, I couldn't sleep last night so I figured I'd burn off the energy by getting started on some excersizes. I'm certainly in no way happy about the outcome, but I figure I'd share as I always seem to get some good feedback from everyone here. What I did, in a nutshell, I created a bouncing fighter stance for each character and then cycled it until the punches start getting thrown. I noticed during animation that it is sort of tuff to show the effects of quick little act…

Since things are so slow due to the various events taking place around the world, maybe a test shot or something might help with the boredom. Ever see intelligent plant life? Too bad the creator lacks this attribute, but non-the-less, see's a future for this expressive flora. Okydoky! From this snapshot can you tell who's who and what roles they play?

Comments and crits on the films are also welcome, but they're all finished work, so I'll be listening, but not implementing. Thanks in advance and Happy Thanksgiving to the folks from the States...
