I am new, and as you might tell by the movie attached to this post, I have had no training what so ever in animation, but I love it anyways. Please sit back, relax, and check this out. All my collected works if you think it is too big just download my low quality version All my collected works (but smaller) and note that for the high quality one I used divx to compress it and I think you will need to download the codec from www.divx.com. To see individual files I have done just go to http://www.psyog.cjb.net (1 pop up only for the .cjb.net the rest of site is ad free). Thanks

Any one remember those stickers called Wacky Packages that spoofed real life products? They were the inspiration behind some new models I'm working on. I'd like to do a shopping carts worth. Comments?

Here is the project file for my Shaggy and Scooby. I couldn't include the chor because of the size of the file. Shaggy is rigged, but there is a problem with the contraints on one of the right hand fingers. No smartskin. SHaggy's hair isn't finished. There's a few basic bones in Scooby for the tail and ears. If anyone uses these just let me know what you used them for and post it here so we can all see it . These models were built quickly for the contest, so they are probably no good for animation. If someone does get a decent rig and animation with these guys let us know that too. I also did a quick toon render of them in the model window. I didn't …

Hey everybody! This scene comes from an idea that I had the other night; it's not techinally amazing but it is original. My goal was to come up with a look or feel that hasn't been seen before. What do you think? Lee

I did a test today that turned-out quite nicely with BIG help from our friend, Newton Dynamics... (attached 4mb QT) Basically, I made a 'beer-bong' (a funnel on top and a long tube) and set about 50 lathed 'Platelets' above it, set the gravity to -5%... and simulated! Afterwards, I wanted the animation to be slower and smoother- so I 'group-grabbed' all the simulated keyframes from the 50 Platelets and spread them out... I used a SYMBIONT material called 'Plush' to texture the platelet and the vein. The client wanted this to be a 'medical-meets-anime' look, so I toon-rendered and regular rendered and combined the 2 in After Effects. For a quick half-day test, n…

Hi Guys! I finished the first parts of my project, ... This movie will presents some aikido technics and etiquets! But just I can upload this in more parts! Sorry! This are first parts: Part 1 (This is required divx 5.03) Part 2 and I'm waiting your opinion! Sharky

I have taken it upon myself, after about a year of learning this program and seeing it through the OS X Beta program, to model a cello. After one unsuccessful try I modeled the body, and I'm almost done with the bridge. That's where the problem is. I'm having some issues with the bridge. There are four five point patches that refuse to be recognized. I select the five points, but the five-point-patch button is grayed out. Their equivalent regions on the flip side are behaving fine. I've gone over the entire model and flipped all the normals facing out. Is this the right thing to do? You can download the entire project from my iDisk and try it yourself: http://homepage.mac…

Hey Guys, Im currently working on my first model. Its an X-Wing and im using the tuorial for the plane in TAO to complete it. I should have a rendered version of the fuselodge up tonight if not im shooting for tomorrow. I want lots of feedback and any tips you guys can give me. Thanks Geoff

I finished this character up last night. He's not rigged yet but for those interested he's using the new hair particle system. There are no decals here, only material combinations. He weighs in at around 1200 patches. He rendered in about 2 and a half minutes, resolution 640x400, multi-pass x 16. Okay Martin...there you go...like I promised. Comments are welcomed and encouraged. I appreciate any feed-back I can get. (Especially around the shoulder area.)

Alright, I haven't started on the face yet - I'm setting up the rig for the rest of the body first - but I thought I'd see if you guys have any comments. This will be my first full rig, and if you have any insight on face geometry, let me know! I've attached the facial geometry. I did set up a blink pose just to make sure it would work properly, but other than that the face is completely unrigged. Does the geometry look ok or are there going to be problem areas when I start animating? Thanks for your help! untitled.mov

well in the ot section of the forums, i was introduced to cgsphere.com.so, i thought that i would start on mine imediatly, so i did. i chose to do somthing with the earth, then there was an ant jeet man had made and i knew what i was going to do. i made an A:M verstion of the required sphere set up, and started with a dirt material(turned out nicly). then added some grass(im still working on it), then added a rock(witch needs dirt on it), after that i added some ants. what i plann on doing is haveing and ant under the sphere trying to carry it. be up to seeing the update soon!!!

This is based off of a beautifully lit photo of model Sachiko Kokubu. I still have more work to do on the hands, face, and cloth wrinkles, but it's mostly finished. The hair, skin, and cloth are all rendered with reflections, though the bump maps on the skin diffuse them a bit. The ribs are the only major area that I used bump mapping to cheat actually modeling the form. As always, any and all criticism is welcome. http://www.angelfire.com/film/noanoa/kokubu.html Noah

I was just wondering if I could get some constructive criticism on something I'm working on. The link is here (2.5MB) Oh, and if you're from any of the States mentioned and have a better idea for pictures to go on the projector, let me know that, too. I'm going for a sort of inside joke/stereotype thing. For example, for Michigan there's a hand, because we Michiganians will quite often point to a place on the right hand when asked where we're from (unless one is a Yooper). So, yeah. Looking forward to comments.

A long time ago I seem to remember a thread that talked about blurring an object in motion. The trick was to have the middle to back of the object blurred with a trail in it's wake, but the front of the object was not blurred. Imagine a car or plane or fist in motion with the leading edge in focus and blurring the image as it goes by. I hope I'm explaining this right? MUFOOF may have been used, but I don't recall. Does anyone remember how to do this? Here is a pic that shows what I mean: Front relatively in focus as the rear blurs out inot the blurry background.

I wanted to make a character on which I could use SimCloth. So here she is. I'm really unhappy with the head, though. There seems to be a wealth of things I don't yet know about the face and head. This one's an improvement over other faces I've modeled but I still can't get away from this gaunt, sunken look. I'm also working on ways to make the clothes more interesting (texturing and such). Hey guys, following my tests with displacment for folds in clothing, I discovered that no matter how I altered my settings I can not avoid getting these little black dots where the displament map is on the model. I am thinking that the dots are pixels that are brighter then the surrounding pixels in the gradient of the blur that I used on the map and the toon renderer is pickign it up as an edge. is that possible? or is it a compression thing? I've tried both png(profile stripped after ps save) and tga files. any help or suggestions would be appreciated here is an image sowing the problem.

So, has anyone figured out cloth yet? I have an animation to finish off for someone else and cloth is holding me up right now. I don't want to spend too much longer messing with it to hopefully discover the magic formula. I have made a simple test object with a cape and tested cloth sim in A:M versions 10.5, 11.0t and 11.1f. I still can't get collision detection to work. Any clues? This is pretty urgent! In the attached movie the top two tests are done in 10.5 and 11.0t. The bottom two are both in 11.1f. As you can see collision detection doesn't appear to be working. Does anyone have it working?

hi at all... i have a model with hair, the model also has some dynamic constraints. when i´m rendering with the hair turned off, the dynamic constraints work fine, but when i render with hair on, no dynamic constraint movement shows in the render. the hair dynamics work fine, just that the hair seems to prevent the dynamic constraints to work. any clue? i have another little problem with this model, maybe some rigging experts can help... the model was rigged with the squetch rig, everything is working as it should, except one thing: the ring finger curl isn´t working, all other fingers are fine though... i noticed that in the "relationships>bones" folder …

So figured I'd add to my plethora of projects, my first attempt at modeling a car! Now I have horrible car sense to begin with and know next to nothing about cars. Despite that however, there is one car in particular that is definitely the coolest car ever. At least in my puny sense of car stuffs. I've been invited to give an advanced tech talk on developing an edi system for healthcare claims in June. It has to be done as a power point presentation, but me being me I don't want to do just an hours worth of slides, so I plan on doing several slides interspersed with the tech speak with some animated slide s. One of them is an illustration of the system as whole as a rube goldberg like machine. This is a test I just threw together of the first piece, which will be an inlet belching envelopes onto a conveyor belt. test.mp4

This one shows me with an old friend I met while hiking (I'm the one on the left in the picture). I have begun my final project for Digital Film class. It is a humorous/macabre short entitled "Dogfood". The style is somewhat german expressionist, somewhat my own strange sensibilities. The man in it is tormented day and night by the barking dog in his neighbor's apartment, until he exacts his revenge. The man never actually sees the dog barking, so the script had called for a sillouhetted dog, rather than something too specific. Since I have no dog, much less one that would be willing to act in this part, I have opted to use a CG stunt dog. It doesn't need to be photoreal, just a suggeston of a dog. My digital film teacher has a vendetta against A:M th…
