I have a question. Does anyone know if hash will work on widows 7 or will it need some type of new patch. Tried to load hash but it got some type of glitch. I believe I have version 12.

I just purchased V16. In the forums there were several accounts about how it is significantly faster, and I have to admit I was a bit skeptical that it would be faster, even on something simple and straightforward. But it turns out, it is. I rendered one frame of a project I am working on using the Final preset in the 1080 HD format on a snazzy machine with an Intel i7 quad core 3.4GHz processor. I rendered on 15.0j+, 16.0a 32-bit and 16.0a 64-bit. Rendering a single frame does not do any overt parallel processing, but with V16 you can use NetRender to do 2 different frames at once, so in a real project you would likely get something like double the improvement…

This is a test to see how v11 hair could be used for eyebrows and eyelashes. The result is conclusive. I'm pleased with the results. What do you think? I'm not quite completed with the eyebrows though. I spent most of my time on the eyelashes.

Okay, You've looked and probably got the shot cached on your hard-drive now, so I'll have to ask you to delete it as quickly as possible... Just kidding, it's not that much of a leak anyway, but this is a shot of what my 3D-paint application is capable of outside of A:M, still working with patches and MDL models. (and yes it probably is the ugliest fish you've ever seen;-)

I'm working on an outdoor scene that has direct sunlight and some shaded areas. Sprites are flowing from the lighted area into the shaded area, yet the sprites brightness does not diminish as it goes from sunlight to shade? The sprite particle is basically a white blob that stays bright no matter what the lighting conditions are. Can this be changed in the sprites properties? I want the sprites surface to be darker as it moves into the shaded area of the scene.

here's a little animation I put up on AWfilms for kicks. It's the first project I've done with AW. I'm a 3D guy for some years now, but mainly polys. I'm really starting to like working with the splines. I know this isn't all that great, but I wanted to jump in and get my feet wet. Thought I'd see what advice or critique I could get from you guys. Thanks, CrawdaddyMovie

Hey guys, I have entered Revver's next film contest, this one has the April fools theme. I started out to do a basic ball movement test, but as soon as the contest was announced I changed my whole outlook on the animation. Let me know what you guys think, thanks! Maybe I can get first this time around? April Fools - Flash April Fools - Quicktime

For those who love dot hack. I ask you for your arms and hands in dire need. I want to try and make what Mohhammed started. It is my dream to put together a clip or film or something that has to do with .hack of some sorts, Why i am asking this is because i really want to start my own and i have the guide to .hack//G.U. Rebirth so i really dont need any 'pics' exactly. If you would like i could upload some pictures on request. Some Characters i would like made would be Haseo, tri-Edge, and Azure Balmung. And possibly Atoli. I will upload pictures of theis when people are interested. For now tho i need to just start on making a surver *For those who dont know, thats bascil…

Well I posted in Animation:Master area because some of the problems I was having in the Choreography window on render and was asked to post some pics of my model so far. So since the pics are already posted in the forum I thought I might as well post them here as well. The mouth still needs to be added but here it is so far...

Folks, I've been struggling to work this sporran into something suitable for the cover of an event program. The cover is a full color, full bleed 8.5 x 11 deal where I have the full reign on the design. It is for a Scottish Highland Games, so the theme is obviously...Scottish. My current idea is a sporran (see below). But something seems lacking, so I'm seeking any ideas from the forum..

I have been trying to progress with the low-patch model that you may have seen in another thread. I have added a backpack, bedroll and some dynamic constraints, bringing the total patches up to 758 now, but something is messing up the eye poses and the dynamics are not working at all. Are other people getting similar problems with alpha 10? [attachmentid=15255]

I'm making a project that involves a solid-spoked wheel, much like many car wheels are today without hub caps. To cut down on the modeling I used some lathing and duplicate techniques. I based my lathe outline on a rotoscope diagram. I used two CPs at every corner to make a sharpish but still-beveled edge... This wheel has 8 spokes (with 8 holes in between) and a bump on each spoke. The easiest way to model a round bump or hole is to stitch it in on splines between two other splines. That means a minimum of four splines across for each instance of a hole and a spoke with a bump... To support 8 holes/spokes, i need to do a 32 cross sect…

Here's a little peek at a creature I'm working on. http://home.alltel.net/collinsfamily04/testjump2.avi I'm decent at modeling and okay at animating, but I'm horrible at texturing. Would anyone care to trade some modeling or animating for texturing and mapping? Also, I made this in 8.5 although I'm finally breaking out 11 now. I can't seem to be able to pick the path this guy follows in the choreography window in 11.1 on a windows machine. Any suggestions? Cory

What harm could it do.. So here is a very revealing shot of some of my spline problems.. Any ideas? I'll make it a link so as not to give to much away. Hi hashers! I want to show a clip i made almost 2 years ago. Why now? Because i am starting something new with the same basic idea. In the meantime i gained a little more skill in animating, and i can do something with a more finished look. It finishes rather abruptly because it was just testing and i had no real plan. It was assembled in after Effects, but this time i plan to do it all A.M. Let me know what you think. Sorry it is Divx 10megs B.D.

Been trying to improve my Splinemanship as of late. Looking for suggestions or major "no-nos" I did on this model. I have alot of hard lines(creases) I can't seem to get rid of. I'm concerned with the breast area(that's where I see the most issues).

Heres a new character that I am working on. The design is loosely based on Mark Allens drawing for his first character (Mark, since your rotos provided the inspiration you can have a copy of this head model if you wish - just drop me a line). I've been following along Anzovins Modelling a Head tute (just got past the eye and mouth parts - some good lessons there) This character will be a seargent (Space Marine) that may be used in the next image contest and June animation contest. I've got a lot of dirtying up to do As always, comments welcome. Cheers

I've been making music with my friend these last couple of years, Darlene Lombrozo. We've been doing a regular Wednesday evening gig for over a year now and there have been a few friends that have joined us. We started out: Myron & Darlene, "An Entertaining Experience". People started asking us what the name of the band is so we came up with "Myron & Darlene and the Twisted Knickers Revue". Our 'motto' is "Don't get your Knickers in a Twist, Have a glass of Wine." We are having a demo video made and I'm making an animated version of our Business card. (Which I also made using Animation Master) I want to start the animated card out with the letters of our name…

While I was continuing work on my Superman model I had a stop at Image comics booth during the San Diego Comic Con, and got to talking to the great creative team that makes a superb comic called "Invicinble". As a study in how quickly I could take my Superman and turn him into Invincible's dad, "OmniMan" (he's their worlds Superman) I created this image. About 3 hours work. He's got a new face sculpt and new face map (based on my face this time). The funny thing is, he kinda reminds me of my dad...with a mustache...<<image missing>>...hopefully the guys at Invincible will dig it and put it in their book...fingers crossed...now back to Superman. - pjc

I am working on a semi- (to high) realistic (we will see how well she will turn out ) model of a girl. She was modeled from scratch and isn't textured yet (apart from the eyes). She needs some more poses for talking- and emotional stuff, but till now I am quite pleased with her. Before I will go on texturing her, I thought I may adress the porceilan-problem I run into. I tried using the porceilan-material, but I got a problem with hooks there. Anyone knows what I am doing wrong there? The final-rendering is without(!) porceilan which looks okay too, but I would like to use the material to make it even more smooth. Any thoughts? Thanks for your comme…

I'm working on rain, and came up with what seemed a clever solution. the rain is streaks, and the splashes on the chair are a flock of rain drops. After much frustration I finally got it working...until I closed and reopened the file. Now only one drop in the flock shows up. I know flocking has been a source of frustration to others, but anyone have advice. Is this just not a playable feature right now? Also anyone ever get Flock Surface constraint to work? I am attaching movie and file rain.mov Rain.zip

I'm the "Key Grip" of my school's Film Consideration Club (FCC). We watch movies and talk about them. I've been assigned to make a backdrop for the projector. It's the image that displays when it's warming up, and before we put in a movie. It'll be up when people are coming in. It's not trying to sell anything, just something to look at. Here's my first pass at it. I plan to fix the way the film just ends on the upper right. Also, I wanted to do some spotlights a la 20th Century Fox, but I couldn't figure out a good way to do it. I plan to mess with the lighting a bit too. I'd love to hear what y'all think.

This topic is also posted here: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?s=&am...st&p=243770 Basicly, this technique is a way to have cloth deform a bulky object, just like it does with a button except using a bunch of bones instead of one. Since cloth is made up of a flat mesh, you can add objects to the surface via path constraint to the cloth's splines, to allow the objects to stay with the cloth... well! This is done with constraints/bones, so why couldn't you do it also with bones in an object like a rope or a backpack (Woot). :: You can create a cloth grid and set up as you would normal cloth on a character. Don't forget to make a deflector o…

Hi! I need to create a sphere whose surface moves (or appears to move) something like boiling water. Looking at animated materials--color-wise it will be black with purple specular so the material will just be 'bump' (I think 'displacement' would be too much render time). I could probably find an animated clip but decaling a sphere and getting it even would be hard no matter how you work it (unfolding sphere, spherical mapping and placement, etc). Any ideas, let me know! Thanks, Rusty

So I'm slowly making headway with the main character model, Old Man Willies for the short that I hope to finish for a film festival next year. This is a blink test, really intended to see how the hair emitter behaved for the eyelashes. Seems ok. I still have to add hair to the lower eyelash, mustache and beard, then on to face textures and, and and.....
