Starting to get real busy here. Had to do some layouts of some cast plates with depressed lettering and imprinted ceramic middles for a client to choose from. Love the displacement mapping in AM, so much easier then messing around with high density poly models or micro displacement. So much quicker for the basic texturing than just about any program I have used in the past. Thanks!

Ok here is a Centaur I have Frankensteined (SP?)together..the top half should look familiar ,it's Jim Talbots "Tarzan" model off the Hash CD (I think)...and the bottom half is a basic Horse model Ive been working on..I also used this horse model to model a Pegasus, Unicorn and a Centaursus (cross breed..LOL) and of course its used as simple horse model too. No I am Not intering it into the TSM2 contest (can't claim its mine) ,just wanted to show it Mike

I'm redoing my web site and wanted to do someting interesting. I decided to try doing a cubic gallery with the stills on the walls. Being a big fan of M.C. Escher I used Reletiviy as my insperation. Please let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions. When it's uploaded, each image will have a hotspot link to a larger image. I'll be doing a video gallery next. wall_640x480.mov

I have kept up-to-date with my blog and modeling 30 household objects (6 so far) but now I have added animations as well with the aim of 30 animations. After 3 animations I am really pleased with the progress, of course it is not wonderful or awe inspiring but I am moving in the right direction and moreover my 3rd animation gave me a sense of achievement as I was able to do everything I wanted in A:M because I had spent the time gaining the knowledge on how to do it. anyhow if you follow the link at the bottom and select the animation page you can see the progress. As usual the blog etc. is up-to-date.

http://www.gentlechifitness.com/new_page_10.htm I got word that I can disclosed this, and it was a paid assignment, yee haw! I hope to animate this someday. I have kind of been animating this on the side to make sure it works. This was kind of a fun character to make. Its a compound bow, a fishing rod, and a shotgun. What thought went into how to make a inanimate object to life? It was a task and challenge that I love doing. I wasn't expected to even discern the sex of the object?

Hello, I'm testing the 2001 rig of Keekat to see if it will animate well. The attached video is the first pass of keyframes. I blocked out the main poses every 5 to 15 frames at 30 fps. The poses are then locked down by setting keyframes for all active channels on that particular frame. I'll clean it up later, right now I want to be certain of the action itself, not the timing (which will be fixed later) Thus the tail only whips around once, instead of being really alive yet. Lip sync comes last and I plan to do that manually, especially since it's just noises and no words. Of course the sounds are straight off of the A:M CD. There was no cough so…

Hi hashers - This character was created for fun.......Over at #hash3d on irc we have alot of fun and we learn alot....I always bug Parlo aka (Sam Buntrock) about being a pimp since he's so good with the ladies ... So I created this fish just to tease him.... Am very happy with the results... the whole pimp thing is just a joke...... parlo is not a pimp "DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR" lolz..... hope you get a chuckle... modeled / rendered in A:M V11p......

Last night I got an idea of making an silly seagull, don't know why though I did not have any clear vision of how he would end up like, so I just started to spline. He is far from finish, but I think I have an good start. The wings needs a lot of tweaking, and I have no clue in how to model the tail to obtain the "style" he got so far. This is the first animation pass at an idea. still to come are the facial expressions and the finger movements and ( having just watched it through a few times ) preventing that sinking feeling in a few places. Its about 10-12 hours work but, any criticism welcome, good bad, or how could you ? regards simon

I always liked the cut-out style animation like used on Nickelodeon's "Blue's Clues". I really liked how it was used in "Olive the Other Reindeer" which mixed 2D and 3D. I don't really know a lot of the 2D apps and the ones I tried, I always had problems with something. So I thought I'd try it in A:M. because that's what I know. The ease of modeling, texturing, rigging, and muscle mode, all made it go so fast and easy. Here is a little test I did in just a few hours last night. (The character design is from a children's book) 7 layers (pupils, eyes, head, teeth, arms, body, leg1, leg2) - all flat objects 2Dtest.mov

Hello! I have yet another idea that popped into my head. I got this idea when I was sorting through some photos I took while I was on vacation (About 1500 of them ). The images that sparked it were: 50mm f/1.8 119 second exposure, Canon Rebel XT Panarama of 7 photos at 50mm perspective When I looked at these I though, Hey why not make that in A:M So here is where I am at: 15min3x3pass 768x1024px The giant monolithic rock is basic a simple extruded model with some eXtreme displacement mapping. I originally modeled it in A:M and opened it in zBrush to sculpt in the details, but I could not figure out for the life of me how to get UVs that …

Hello there! After longer abstinence I finally started A:M again and thought that a pumpjack would be a good exercise for a mechanical object. Moving parts in various directions for rigging, both big and small parts to model. Right now it's in the "big parts completed" stage (attached is a quick render from the modeller). Next steps: adding details like nuts and bolts, some gears and vents for the engine box, struts, walkways and ladders. Still lots of work to model but I'll post this with a question: any good tutorials or how-to's out there when it comes to texturing/weathering? Hi All, I have been working on this animtation and wondered what you thought. Download here All crits welcome. Bare in mind that it is WIP and so is not fully rendered (only realtime shaded at the mo). There are places where the hands are popping through and such. Made everything in 5 days using version 11. Was my first character as well. That is 256 passes and took about 1 hour and 15 minutes to render and I know I probably could of gotten away with less passes but I was going to take a nap while it rendered so what the heck . This is the basic room with 9,000 patch. I made the cornice and I was pretty deep into it and selected almost all of them and accidently press delete when I was aiming for the forward slash and deleted the whole thing, then I prayed and waited for the system to catch up and then press undo and it all came back. Quickly I save the file, and thank my lucky stars. Close call! Turn the cornice into a bump map. I am thinking of doing the same for the ceiling with a tin impression, and a center piece for the art deco chandelier. I am doing a new render in stereo and I'll post it in the stereo of the feb contest as this is the inside of the house that I modeled for the contest.

here's a look at my wips 2 different projects same company the space shots are for the POD the POD is a commercial, personal oxygen device ( yes it's real) the second is for a film, opening credits and plot development ( HASH will defiantly be in the end credits ) that one has particular challenges everything is kinda flat and black and white I'm using colored lights for depth, dimension, mood ect ( posted another query about those lights ) anyway thoughts appreciated thanks j

Well, I was moving on to another vehicle for my project and, thanks to the wonderful Osprey U6 tutorial by JohnArtBox, I was able to complete this in less than a full day! THANKS JOHN! I was nearly finished and realized that something didn't look quite right... I changed the engine size and now I'm really not sure which one looks better. What do you think the one on the left or the on the right?

Here's something I've been working on for quite awhile, in my downtime. Still left to do is texturing (the hard, almost-black rubber and plastic of the mask) I have to finish the "eyes" (right now they're just flat panels with the pics decaled, which is pretty close to the final product, except the eye pics are going to be on torn pieces of paper instead of flat patches). I'll need to tweak the refractive properties of the glass in the eyepieces. Also, the lights, which are just kinda thrown inside the mask for these renders, will become permanent parts of the model. There will be a volumetric "lamp" inside the mask which will backlight the translucen…

I took a break from rigging Kong to work on another great ape. Avalanche Software donated the orangutan model to the extra DVD (and other models), but it had no hair material. So far this is what I have. I haven't done any grooming yet. Any "grooming" look you see is through the dynamic settings. Still need to adjust the length and density in areas and adjust the hair group. I'll probably never get it to look as good as Avalanche, but I'll certainly try. There's also a monkey which I may do as well. I don't know if I'll rerig him, but he's in desperate need of a hand gizmo.

Right, I couldn't resist posting this critter - it's a long while since I modeled a creature in AM and I am trying out the OSX version of AM. So far so good. This chap will be appearing, once finished, in my Bella Bear stories and replace the original alien that I nicked from the Hash CD. I kinda made him look a bit like Alf since I thought it might be fun to make him distant cousin… Anyway any comments or suggestions welcome. Roses are red - another lipsync to some music. The problem is I have an avi-file as a background on a layer. The avi-file has some roses flying up. The avi-file is 1 second. And I want to repeat it - loop it - but how to do it - I can not figure out... I have made a keyframe in the Choreography for the layer with the avi - file and in the timeline I am choosing for that keyframe: Curve > Post-Extrapolation Method > Repeat But the avi-file will not repeat - will not loop!!! What am I doing wrong? Or is there some other method to get an avi-file to loop?

Okay I downloaded the project called autosquash and modified it from here http://users.hol.gr/~sogou/animaster/expressions.htm I had the ball bounces with a rigid body simulation then had the x scaled to the y position in the simulation very simple but this was very easy 1express.mov
