This is a bit from the revised fight scene for Duck Sauce; my awesome team has been helping me make a new version to send to film festivals. I've been posting stuff to the team occasionally, but I liked the way this one turned out enough to show it to the list. The context is that the rubber chicken and the rubber duck are fighting, as the rubber pigeon saves the pink flamingo from certain death. (And what a context that is!) http://www.hash.com/users/zachbg/blog/lowe...ndFight_mp4.mov You can see the original version of the whole film on A:MFilms. Comments welcome!

there he comes... finally... the first of maybe a few shorts of "RUBBERGUY - TRAINING LESSONS FOR UPCOMING SUPERHEROES" (i know i forgot the "e" in heroes in the trailerscreen, will be fixed...) the idea was to make a squetch-rigged character (my first one with that rig so far) that can extremely bend (that´s his superpower ). i always wanted to make that kind of squetchy moves but never knew how to make that until i found the squetch-rig, thanks to all the guys who were involved developing it. then i remembered the sportgoofy-clips where goofy does different sport-disciplines and sucks at all. and i thought: "hey, why don´t you do that sort of thing with your chara…

It didn't take me very long, and definately wasn't very hard to make. but thought it looked kind of cool. I used decals for the colors and the rubik's logo.

Hey guys, well it's been a while since I put myself through a speed test. Since I have this new character to mess around with, I thought I'd put something together. I literally put this together in 20.min. I used a run cycle that I previously made, put a path in, then animated the dive in the cho. window. Don't know if there is anything more I will do to it, even though I know there's all sorts of stuff to adjust..... Hey guys a few weeks ago I was going on and on with posts when I finished my model. More fun to animate than to set up! Anyhows, this is one of the same vids, but from the back side... I was messing with trying blur settings out... I set the multi pass to 5 and then blurred it in a QuickTime export. http://www.vrcops.com/vids/BackR2PB.mov Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com

I am working on a short animation and am doing a run cycle for my character right now. How do I make a run cycle that looks believable? I want him to be running fast, but sort of hopping. He's pretty agile. Even a cycle sheet would be of help.

Hey guys, I added some of the changes you guys mentioned previous on the run cycle... Thanks for the crits! But wanted to see how it'd look with the blur activated... http://www.vrcops.com/vids/RubBlurA.mov Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com

I'm really looking forward to this movie so thought I'd try to WIP together Ralph... from the upcoming Disney feature 'Wreck it Ralph". Disney's response to the other 'it's good to be a badguy' films from other companies. This is as far as I got before getting a little bored with him. I'm not pleased with the likeness but I like the eyes and may use them again. Edit: I was trying to be clever by making a reference to 'Runaway Ralph'... the famous children's storybook mouse. Before I was done typing I had confused myself! Wreck it Ralph is the Disney movie coming soon to theaters. There are at least two trailes for the movie currently in circ…

Howdy all. Just doing a little exercise in a run to test out TSM2. This was done straight-ahead in choreography, not in a cycled action with stride length, which is different than how I usually work. Enjoy. Comments and crits welcome, as always, the tougher the better. 3 seconds, 120K or so, Sorenson 3 .mov. runalien_sor3.mov

Started a new WIP post with a more appropriate heading. Picked this old model up and started tweaking again. Here are some quick renders with some color experiments - none of which I like. Also worked some more on the interior - dash, gauges, seats, door panels, center console and stick. The body is undergoing tweaking every time I touch the project. The metal is getting smoother every time. I also reworked the rims of the car, loosing over 500 cps without changing the look of the rims. This was done just by getting more experience in modeling and eliminating what was not necessary. I've started working on the engine compartment and will post a r…

Hey guys, I've received a commission from a buddy of mine to create a couple classic buildings from Salt Lake. Namely Temple Square. I've got the temple itself built (no textures yet) and just wanted to ask what would be the best way to achieve a granite effect. I don't want to re-decal every inch of this thing and was wondering if I can somehow material-map this thing with a single equally scaled image facing the same direction Then repeat it with a bump map of the same size, etc. Any suggestions?

I've been updating some of my old models including this wooden desk chair. The large image is from today, the small inset image was rendered on Dec. 20, 1997. If nothing else my colour sense seems to have improved.

"Sandcastles," my third short film and second major collaboration has officially moved into production. The main character was modeled in A:M. Determined to build the sandcastle of his dreams, a small child struggles against all odds to fulfill his destiny, even if it kills him. In case you didn't see it in the festivals, my last film, "Garrett" is now available to watch on Youtube. Production has begun on "Sandcastles," so watch for updates soon.

I've been working on this off and on for a couple weeks. I'm still working on the hands, beard, toy bag, and I still need to get some folds in his coat but he's getting pretty close. He's heavily based on the santa from the classic rudolph tv show. I've got Yves' skin shader on him but it's hard to tell in this pic. Anyway, crits and comments welcome. Kevin

Save me! was the topic at the animation showdown on wednesday. Or character was stranded on a desert island and had to get the attention of passing ship or plane. Since then I've reworked some of the animation, and added gratuitous lighting and materials. In other words, this looks nothing like what i had going at the four hour deadline. I have a model of a swing that I've already done some rigging and poses with which is much too large for the other elements in my choreography. I know I can just scale it in every choreography to match, but I'd like to know if there is a way to rescale it in the modeling window so that the bones (and their smartskinning and poses) still match up with their respective cps. -Chris

We finally have a draft edit of the next sequence of Scarecrow of Oz. Yay! OK, so it's not Snow White or Toy Story, but we sure are learning a lot There aren't any sound effects or music yet, so it is kind of sparse in places. Hopefully Angelo will give us some background sounds soon. def3dca464469d2cf9f3

This is just a test render for a animation i intend to do in the near future... this is my first render with radiosity.... and i don't know... i think it's pretty cool. I kind of like how the walls look like cement, or at least they look like cement to me. I tweaked the cornell box a little-------> changed wall color, deleted the boxes inside, and changed the color that the lights project....in order to fit what i needed, and also added some speakers i made. For the animation: the robot has a cd player on the front of him, but i can't figure out how to model the cd tray. so i might just model a simple cd player, like the ones in cars, and just put …

Please have a look at this carscene. I have some questions: I have a sunlight directed from the left and a klieglight from the right enligthening the sign and cast shadows on, but the shadows are not like I would expect them. Under the car it looks as if only the axles and tyres cast shadow but not the body of the car, also there is no shadow under the bridge and the sign is casting no shadow as well ( I would expect like see my painting.) Second, is there a way to avoid decals showing from the backside. Any help? Thank you Jake

Always adding to the old portfolio, wanted to try at some "physical" comedy. Hoping to get some crits and opinions from the first segment. mirrors.mov Here's what I see: I can tighten the walk cycle a bit... it's slipping on the stride. The transitions between poses might need some re-thinking. Some of the holds...(mostly the ones toward the end) are a little off.

Not sure this is what was asked but I like the effect. Uses a grid with a animated displacement material applied with a little refraction. The hair is not on because it seems to be acting strangely in this version v12k and it sped up the render [attachmentid=10166] oh an here's the project but the decals for schlitzy are not included but on the cd [attachmentid=10167] actually the screen is begin to look the same must be getting late was going to mention the actiing is a bit too fast but that can be tweaked aniother thing the displacement/refraction could be on a slider and then if need the distortion could decrease and focus would r…

Hello ! I have found a new idea to get me going. I got my inspiration from the halls at my highschool. Here is where I am at now: 5pass 27min Im experimenting with lighting right now. The modeling is pretty much done as well. For texturing and shading I plan to use a lot of decals and one or two procedural shaders. I want the floor to have a slight bump to it and it to be reflective and very specular. The doors are wood, and the lockers peeling painted metal. The other walls are going to be a dry wall esq texture. Photoman

I started this guy a few days ago. I didn't create it from scratch however. For my learning process, I used already established meshes and changed them to fit what I needed. Only the bracers and boots are my own creation. Anyhow, any and all critics are welcome to aid me in my modeling. [attachmentid=19230] [attachmentid=19231] I still need to add decals with alpha channels to spice up the armor and face features.
