Hello! Seniors at my high school are required to complete a project for a final grade. It is supposed to occupy over 15 hours of time to create and blah blah blah... I am choosing analogue photography. I plan on doing a video and I need some titles for each section. Here is the first one, it is for small tank developing: FilmDev_720_A_0.mov I made an 8 light skydome for the cheap AO effect. I used the AA render for the DOF too. I know the 35mm is totally lame looking but it is meant for illustrative purposes only. Photoman

that I did for my church, it was one of the times I really enjoyed going to an activity (maybe it was the good feeling, or the animation, or the ego petting afterwords, not sure which). Anyway, it was mostly made with A:M, more as a presentation than an animation, but I think you'll agree that it's entertaining and has a good message. By the way, sorry about the narrator, he sometimes forgot how to read

I have a digital camera and took a few pictures of the office where I work and tried to add the free t-rex to a couple of pictures. This was the dino rendered in Am on black background ,cut in out then added to a layer in PS. In PS I copied just the desk to another layer then put that in front of the dino layer . Added a shadow layer effect and tried to do a reflective layer of the dino on the desk area. Is there any suggestions on how to do this better This seemed to work okay

I have this thing for wanting realistic trees in my scenes. Ya'll can have your toony trees. We use a lot of panels with cookie cutter decals, and tree hair. A recent case we have is going to require us to fly down the road, past some trees so I thought I would make one using the treez plug-in. The problem was the high patch count and when you put hair leaves on it, My system would chug. So..... I make this tree which only has 700 patches, is 50 feet tall (leavea area a little large), and has leaves. I used the AM enhance Foliage material to create the leaves. It has a way to go but I like it so far. [attachmentid=20403] David

HEY! Sorry if this has been a topic before, I may have missed it...but I just caught a great 'toon made with A:M at YouTube.com called 'Slap Happy'... UN-friggin-believably cool... credits go to R.Cory Collins and Eggington for the set... WARNING: 'Three Stooges' slap-stick humor. AND--- I just found another one called 'SPRUNT' by Stuart Lloyd...HILARIOUS! I won't give the link because I don't want to offend the 'parents' among us. BIG WARNING do not search for this if you are easily offended by sexual-themed animations...DEFINATELY DO NOT SEARCH FOR SPRUNT ON YOUTUBE. It's actually amazing to see some of the work being done by people who …

I was messing about with my rigging a couple of weeks ago and ended up getting sidetracked with this thing. I'm posting this early test for a laugh. Rip it to shreds at will. I know about the fingers not actually looking like they are doing thier job. Looks more like shrimp legs. It has evolved a bit since this and has had a little adventure but needs more work before rendering. I have a few ideas where he would be quite handy

I have made this little animation. It is my first attemt on using particles. I have modeled every rivit on this upper structure with a small sphere. As the number of spheres increased, my copy/paste function slowed considerably. To get back some speed, I cut each sphere in half, which helped quite a bit by cuttin down on spline count. I received a suggestion that I might be able to achieve rivits with displacement maps? Take a look at my project and tell me if and how I could do this? It is important to be able to actually see raised rivits on the upper structure since close-up will be taken of it when finished. Thanks

Howdy all. Just doing a little exercise in a run to test out TSM2. This was done straight-ahead in choreography, not in a cycled action with stride length, which is different than how I usually work. Enjoy. Comments and crits welcome, as always, the tougher the better. 3 seconds, 120K or so, Sorenson 3 .mov. runalien_sor3.mov

My TV production class is creating an animated short this year for a statewide film contest (FAME for all you Floridians). I figured that I would start this thread to get some useful critiques. The entire short will take place on a small pond where several frogs are going to sing an acapella version of "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot." I have finished the Frog characters- This is where I've run into my first dilemma. I absolutly LOVE the way the Darktree shader works on this model- It's perfect. But I applied the material at my house on my Windows machine. My school is running A:M off a MacG5. How would I go about ether burning the material on as a texture…

Okay I made a project wit two chors the first generates Thom doing two jump cycles as a tga sequence (used alpha buffer) Then for the second chor I import the sequence of tgas and use them as the sprite. I applied to model put in in chor and (not sure if necessary) choose frame at the end of each cycle to match what frame in sequence should be there ( action 1:01 so at 1:01 i chose sprite frame 1:01 at 2:02 chose 2:02)-again might not be necessary. Anyway then rendered the qt here [attachmentid=11396] project file with both chors instead of the sprite sequence [attachmentid=11397] I know its a bit rough but it hopefully will steer y…

This is my latest short, AEsop's Council of Mice. Bill Plympton's "Guard Dog" beat me at the Woods Hole Film Festival this summer, but I guess I can live with that. I had won Woods Hole last year, with "Marboxian," and was obviously hoping for a repeat performance. Now that I'm finally into my new place (though still living out of boxes), I need to get the DVD together and get this one out to more festivals. Go watch it! I don't think it's bad. ART STUFF: The severely crunched color palette was ripped shamelessly from "Avalon," a live-action/CGI film from the director of "Ghost in the Shell." Crunching your color palette, as that film and its later-…

I mentioned this some time ago in the Star Trek Red Squad thread and delayed opening a new thread up for it until now. So here's the lowdown. With Red Squad, it obviously has it's main and secondary characters with dialogue. The thing is, where this takes place on starships, these guys aren't the only crew members on the ships. So what I'm hoping/asking for, is if anyone has any decently "semi-realistic" heads that they're willing to donate to simply be background crew members who mill about, use computers etc. They could be guy or girl, though I don't have any female bodies built, so you may have to supply that as well, but if all you have is the head, I'll take tha…

myGameTV.com is a new syndicated video game review TV show. The show airs in Florida as well as worldwide on the internet. We're like Siskel & Ebert on crack. We're seeking animated shorts 1-5 minutes long that are hilariously funny, maybe a little controversial. If they are gaming related that is a plus. Although there is no compensation, we offer screen credit and there is a lot of exposure and we can also plug your website on television. I have been working on modeling more realistic eyes. In the past I have used simple sphere with a decal. The eyes here are more detailed in their construction. The eyes are not spheres but have that shape shown in Steven Tubbrit's tutorial. I want to fix the ripples in her cheek and add that flesh piece in the corner of the eye. What to you think? Mark

Every time I try to build a head, when I try to patch sections together, or fill ares by closing off with a spline, I get a complete mess like the pic. shown here. I try to pull and adjust the Bezier handles, but it nearly always makes it worse. I doing something fundamentally wrong, but haven't a clue as to what.

As you can see below I am still piecing him together. The coloring is temporary and I am going to try making a bump map so he has the right shell. What I want to use him for, however, requires him to speak. I discussed this with a few people on the IRC chat and they said the best way to do it was to animate his face, then apply it to the model as a decal. Someone also mentioned that it is possible to use pose sliders with the decal so I could apply the decal and still change it. Does anyone know how this is done? This sounds like what I need to use.
