Hi guys I created this scene for fun, based on a little experience I had a few years back... *** Ever found urself in the wrong place at the wrong time? not a good feeling.. Sometimes it just best to turn right around and run!! Sang was hungry and went looking for food in a rough area of the ocean..Bumped into daddy!!! and baby worms and realized his stay should be short!!! *** I wanted a dramatic feel so I used a limited colour palette / textures and design... The bobbles were done by hand cuz my system can't handle particles... Done with A:M / The Gimp.... thanks for your feedback!!

Here is one I finished but never textured. Some of you long time users may remember it. It's a czech built german tank circa 1941. If I can get my old v8.5 of A.M. to run again (see post at Animation Master forum) I'll put the paint to it.

Alright...I finally pretty much finished rigging and modeling the basics of my flower....look at the rig! I'm using dynamic constraints for each petal to cut down on the animation work time. Plot: basically a flower gets aggrovated because of a bee that keeps flying around it and is doing a whole bunch of annoying stuff (I get the ideas of that stuff from what I do to others )

Made a proxy rig... all of the bones have dynamic constraints. In the chor I constrained (orient-like limbs/torso-- and the pelvis is translate-like) the rig(main bones/limbs) of the hero character to the dynamic bones of the proxy. This is the result: DynamicHitHardLg.mov

Hello, I decided to play with hair in preperation for a project that calls for using the hair system. I'm really liking the results I get, but I'm hitting just one snag right now. The character in the image is Dodger the Squirrel. His fur seems kind of poofy, but squirrel fur in general is mostly flat for the main body and head. I think I may have flattened the hair guides as much as they are going to go. So what else can I do to flatten the hairs more? Right now, he seems to have cute kitten fur.

This was a weekend project. I wanted to experiment with some composting and chroma screens (harder than I thought! You've gotta get the lighting just right!) and basically just do something fun that I could also use to learn more about the software. So...here it is! My five minute silent film: Death Over France http://www.irish-studios.com/DeathOverFrance.mov Be warned...this is a 39.5 meg download so if you don't have broadband, you probably don't want to try downloading this. Enjoy!

Hey guys, I wanted to try out a night lighting scene, as most heroes tend to do thier best work at night, no? Just a turnaround test. However there is something lost in the compression from the orginial... http://www.vrcops.com/vids/NightSetA.mov Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com

Folks, I've been struggling to work this sporran into something suitable for the cover of an event program. The cover is a full color, full bleed 8.5 x 11 deal where I have the full reign on the design. It is for a Scottish Highland Games, so the theme is obviously...Scottish. My current idea is a sporran (see below). But something seems lacking, so I'm seeking any ideas from the forum..

Hi all! I'm making this bike tyre and if you look att the patter of the tyre, there is the problem... I need a way to makeit look the same exept getting 5400 extra patches. The total patch count is 5872 and 5400 of them is the pattern (lots longer render time). How can I go around this problem? //Korken

Hey guys, I've received a commission from a buddy of mine to create a couple classic buildings from Salt Lake. Namely Temple Square. I've got the temple itself built (no textures yet) and just wanted to ask what would be the best way to achieve a granite effect. I don't want to re-decal every inch of this thing and was wondering if I can somehow material-map this thing with a single equally scaled image facing the same direction Then repeat it with a bump map of the same size, etc. Any suggestions?

I've been working on a "waves at night with moon" scene for a bit. I think it needs more work, especially with the fog, but I'm sure there is more to improve. I want it to look as photoreal as possible, but I need to find some reference photos or head out to the lake one of these nights to see how it really looks. Any critiques or comments would be great. I'll try to explain more, especially the problems I'm having with the fog, when I have the time, but I have a busy day ahead so I need to go to sleep. Thanks, --Ross

This is a continuation of a topic started here: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18978 Below is an Image of my model to which I applied a bump decal with straight lines which render with jags. The decal is un-edited in the UV editor. No points were dragged or the model flattened. Any ideas on how to fix this? or a better approach to straight lines? Pixmite P.S. Vernon - I think you were right about the optical illusion. I rendered it from another couple of angles and it looked correct. I was late, what can I say.

It has been a while since I posted anything so I have the engine I am working on. (Some day I will get back to working on the bar scene just not today) This is a sort of fantasy rocket engine that will have moving flashing lights inside of it (thus the clear sections) I am trying to figure out how to rig a big crysta to the top of it as well as more hoses and some structure, but for now here it is in its unfinished un textred glory.

This is a photo of a prototype that I've been working on at my day job as Creative Director for SMP Display & Design group. It is a cast urethane sculpture of "Mr. JellyBelly", the mascot for Jelly Belly Candy Company, for the new international display. I had modeled Mr. JellyBelly in Animation:Master and exported several different poses of him as .3ds files to bring into my CAD program where the rest of the display was designed. When the final design was approved, I had this figure carved and molded for the prototypes. I airbrushed the finished figures before boxing them up to send to a tradeshow in Europe. Anyway, since I did use A:M in the design process,…

I was just trying to teach myself how to rig a character (again) and decided to start out with a simple model. It's just a Box with boxy legs. It's not very refined, the jump aspect I think needs the most work. The knee targets will *pop* when extended fully and I think that's my problem. Here it is, enjoy. This is just an test in doing photo comp. The clip is inspired by some norwegian tv vignette, where all sorts of objects hovers to create this two. It is however a bit of work behind this, I took approximately 60 images of my livingroom that i stitched together to make an environment map and IBL image. I had to go back to "global color" instead of IBL, since the IBL gave the groundplane an unwanted colorburn. The coin is made by coloring a coin with a felt pen, and the rubbing its surface with some paper to get the patter showing, then I scanned it. scanning the coin without the coloring gave me just the highlights. The scanned image got some ps fixing, and then was used …

I've started work on an image that will be used to help promote my work in the CG and artistry realm. This image will mainly be used on my business cards, as well as a background for the business website, but I hope it to also be so good that I can print it off in large sizes. I thought I would share the various stages the image goes through as I create each part of it. Today's work entitled finishing off the suimsuit the female model will be wearing, and starting work on the background element, for now being a parking lot eventually with some kind of photographic background behind it. Some of you may recal the car model I was working on months ago. Here …

I'm pleased to announce that my short film "The Cell-Phone," winner of the first Mini-Movie contest, will receive its film festival premiere at the D.C. Shorts Festival on Thursday, September 14, 2006. This is a newly re-rendered and revised version, produced with a lot of help from A:Mers Jeff Lee, Mike Stamm, Glenn Antofer, and Rhett Jackson. In addition, my films "<ESC>" and "Soap Opera" will be showing at the first annual Idaho Panhandle International Film Festival in Sandpoint, Idaho. The festival runs from August 24-26.

I wanted to take a break from the tutorials and put some of what I have learned into practice. So far, I have modified Schlitzy by getting rid of most of the hair. Built a room, still need to put trim around the window. Added a layer behind the window for the moonlit background. Added a decal to the floor to simulate hardwood, and added some reflection to it. Finally, played around with the lighting (although, I'm still not sure what I'm doing with them). C & C always welcome. Thanks... Al [attachmentid=20568] [attachmentid=20569]

I've posted about this before, only then it was supposed to be a CGI film. It's live action now, and it is very CG heavy. I'm in desperate need of two or three volunteer modelers who are talented enough to create photo-real creatures and environments. You also need to be able to rig the models you creature. Basically, a lot of our sets will be digital due to the expense of building them in reality. There castles and medieval homes and things like that that will have to be digital due to cost. Also, I could use one or two people in the animating section, but that won't be needed until probably the end of 2007 or better. So, anyone up for the task? It won't b…
