What happens in this film happend to me a few days ago, I add some things, but mostly it is true. I like the way it is turning out, 47 seconds and 12 MB, sorry I no longer have DivX so I can't encode them anymore . Enjoy. { PROJECT FINISHED DELET THIS POST } it is also available at my site, http://www.psyog.cjb.net wich I will be updating severly for the next few days, it is in the movies section. Any input on the animation before I do a Final render would be nice. Thankies, enjoy.

here's the "hero" for a movie i'm working on called "The Movie to End All Movies" I had some trouble naming the guy, so i just chose my favorite character from Street Fighter (Vega) and added an 'is' at the end, feel free to comment any way you like. I'm still in the process of tweaking it a bit.

The first time I really went to town for an animation in AM- and I mean REALLy went at it- channel editing and everything, I remember a moment when my wife walked past me, took a look at what I was doing and sneered. I mean she really audibly sneered too. You know: "Tsh..." I didn't understand what could have caused her reaction- but she thought that what I was doing looked so *ugly* that she couldn't understand how anything interesting or even amusing could come out of it... So now, sometimes I sit back, load up ALL the channels to a character in a scene and sort of look at them... they really are sort of beautiful to me; hard to believe I'm responsible for a…

My first attempt at making a face. I already know of many issues with it, but this is about two hours of effort just to get this. I've learned a lot from this exercise, mostly how splines work and 5 point patches. I'm off to sleep for tonight, tomorrow I'll work on doing a set of shoulders/torso, and maybe another face.

I've updated my site with my last three misfires from digitalrendering.com's Animation Showdown, the four-hour animation race: Who's at the Door? I never quite got the rhythm of this one right. Doing more leading with the hips might have made it less floaty. Hug. The moderator warned that doing this with two characters would be too hard. Turns out he was right! Crawl. Why he didn't just step over that thing? These versions are re-rendered for better lighting. See them on my Showdown page.

Hi everyone I know in the modeling window scaling the model will effect the hair, but in the choreography scaling the model, if I recall, didn't effect the hair. This is a pic of the model at normal scale.

I've just finished creating the phoneme's for my character and just had to try and figure out how this stuff works, so i Watched the "can you say that" video tut and attempted to make my own, a couple hours later out came this: Clip (890Kb Divx 5.03) Any feedback would be more than welcome I must say how impressed I am with A:M's implementation of the dopesheet etc etc..it was as easy as it appears in the video. However I did wind up with a bunch of keyframes that fall inbetween frames, is that normal? Laters

Meet Mr. Blocky. I want to do some animation using my own character design. This guy was thrown together and rigged pretty quickly. I have rigged him from scratch using the same type of constraints that Jeff Lew uses on his video. So far all I need to finish up are the mouth poses and he is ready to animate. What do you think? Happy Hashing!

The local Futures Foundation asked me to come up with artwork for their fundraiser "Taste of Technology"— a silent auction and wine tasting event. This would be used on postcards, posters, and a huge banner. So this is what I gave them. And, it was a pretty big hit as well.

Hi - It been awhile since I had him completed, but I finally decided to post my first attempt at 3D animation. I have never had any experience in 3D animation before I got the A:M 11. I started in April of this year going through the tutorial and got through it in a few weeks - THANKS to everyone in the forum for answering my millions of questions I posted. So then I decided to just jump into it and try to create a character. He was done after of few weeks of insane struggling. I Didn't want to post him, but figured why not - everyone seems supportive here. Eric LoCascio

Hi, I have started working on a ganster-ish car for my evil ninjas to chase down my good ninja with. I've never modelled anything non-alive before, so I could use some advice. Don't bother with the material on the wheels or bumper yet, either... I only have the car body and headlight materials figured out... Any crits and comments would be great! -Andrew

I did this earlier in the summer but never thought to post it. It's a concept chess game that introduces the idea of fog of war. In this version you use a single GBA to play a mutiplayer game (sorry, no AI). http://www.gsddevelopment.com/chessplusplus_final.gba To run it you have to have a GBA emulator... http://www.gsddevelopment.com/VisualBoyAdvance.exe From "gee, let's do a GBA game" and knowing nothing about the hardware to completion took six weeks with only 2 guys working on the whole thing. I did all the art, design and voice acting (yes, even the women).

Yves inspired me to go back to work on one of my old models (I have too many to choose from...). Started in v.9, stopped in version 9, because, well... it was version 9... restarted in 10.5 First the old version: Spinning Fairy New versions: half of the front side view The hair is a placeholder, it'll go away when I get 11.5 or 12 or whatever comes out next... I don't know what is causing the weird pattern on the wings or the leg, it seems to follow the splines but it only shows in a model window render and not the chor so I'm not gunna worry about it... yet. -Matt

Hi all. Ive just started work on a simple boat to keep me busy with A:M. Any comments, critisims etc will be appreciated and ill post up more progress. Im hoping to finish up with a good scene of the boat on water (like a lake or something) with some land in the background. Expect some questions along the way My texturing isn't great and i haven't made any landscape before. Anyway, heres the very simple model so far, no textures and still needs some (mabe a lot of )tweaking. I will be adding more detail later on. It's not much at the moment but i think i might be able to make it into a quite good scene.

Well, I was moving on to another vehicle for my project and, thanks to the wonderful Osprey U6 tutorial by JohnArtBox, I was able to complete this in less than a full day! THANKS JOHN! I was nearly finished and realized that something didn't look quite right... I changed the engine size and now I'm really not sure which one looks better. What do you think the one on the left or the on the right?

Help, When I rendered this scene, there are weird elliptical lines that show up ONLY when a particular model moves. I'm using lines in the guarding section to simulate wire mesh (mesh is commonly used in these types of industrial installations. The lines are then "rendered as lines". I didn't think it was an issue till I ran the presentation through the projector. They stick out like a sore thumb. Any help would be appreciated. d

In late-July, I had the honor to speak on presentation design at the Answers in Genesis (AiG) Creation College, which was a conference to train people in creation ministry and to present the Genesis messages like Ken Ham, Carl Kerby, other international speakers from AiG. My talk title was "Making Your Presentations Zing!" I taught graphic design principles, eye candy skills, dos and don'ts of design, and more as relates to presentations—digital and otherwise—for the look of high class and professionalism. I used Apple Keynote as my presentation software for its advanced multimedia technologies and awesome transitions. The globe and all silver 3D elements were modeled in …

Well I first started out with AM back in '99 and dropped it for a new hobby (Astronomy) in 2002. Now I'm back and have just moved from v9.5 to v11 (wow - what a difference) and am working on a short of a very short story written by a collegue at work. Anyway, I am using Alan Desroches (Spelling??) models from his Archive CD's so I do not claim the modelling :-) The link provides access to a couple of tests - Hopping (it will be a hopscotch thing when completed) and a walk cycle and I would love some feedback (I am very much the novice so don't hold back - I need to learn) http://users.bigpond.com/higginsdj/my_3d.htm Cheers

I still have some unwanted creases. I had problems with five point patches but fixed 'em up. What a relief! Critiques please!

FRIDAY: This was my contest entry in the Anzovin's modeling contest this summer, and it took 2nd place in the Centaur categorie. Today I was tinkering with TSM2 and thought 'hey- I'll rig that centaur model'...so this is the result of 2 hrs rigging, 1 hour animating and an afternoon D1 render. There are NO cogs, intermediary bones or smartskins yet. We havent seen too many 'alternative' models rigged with the new TSM2 so I thought I'd post it. MONDAY:RErendered over weekend, the reflections appeared after restarting A:M and reloading the project, I also turned on the motion blur (multi-pass) for this test. 176 views over the weekend! Thanks for the compliments! …

Hey--- I have a new movie on my site http://mcampbell.250free.com showing how I was able to achieve a 'new look' for a toon character using A:M and Photoshop and After Effects. click on the 'toon shader' button. Basicly, the character was already designed for a childrens book and they (the potential client) wanted the SAME look but in motion 3D... I prepped this test in 6 hours...it may sell the gig... I roughly modelled the character in A:M, then did selective renders...tail...skin...shirt...eyes...etc by turning OFF the visibility of everything I DID NOT want rendered and I used an alpha channel...brought the :04 sequences individually into Photoshop where…

If anyone out there who is a rigging guru wants to give me some pointers on what I have done wrong with this guy, I am ready to hear some suggestions. I used to 2001 skeleton included on the CD and rigged him according to the instructions. The trouble is he is acting peculiar when I apply some of the actions on the CD to test the rig. Is that the actions or my rigging work? His knees act very funny. I also think my hand rig is screwed up. The thumb doesn't curl. Anyone who wants to look at Gnosh can feel free. I was creating a ship awhile ago (the "Squid ship")..I hadn't finished texturing it or touching up the actions..but check this out...it's supposed to be a spaceship acting as a squid! Squid Push Note: to view you must right click>Save target As>save or Right click>Properties>Copy full address> Paste into address bar> hit go! What I did to achieve: I watch some vids of squids/octopuses and observed the movement and timing..I then took that information and put it into simpler terms (into a cartoony look ship)...If you notice, while the tentacles are going downward you see that they have a slight bend in them for the pressure of the wat…

Hi! i am posting a test with a character i had abandonned awhile ago. I decided to rework the head after buying the excellent face bundle from Anzovin (building, rigging and animating a face cd's). It is the same text in french that i posted a few months ago. You can still judge of the lipsync and attitude of the character even if you don't understand the words, i think (Justin Barrett made a very good tutorial in italian). Bare in mind that it is WIP and so is not fully rendered (only realtime shaded at the mo). There are places where the hands are popping through and such. It is mostly the story/direction/acting/timing that is up for crits. I don't mind honest comments. Fire away.

Hi. I was working on this for a while. After many many sleepless nights I have finished this! At last! Ok, I am joking about sleepless nights... actually I had some problems with textures. And I am very tired of this testing textures and lighting. The main idea was to make something similar to Xmas postcard, in the end I refused this idea... But as always C&C welcome!
