hi all i started working on my car modeling tutorial....but before i go on, there're some questions which i want to ask: 1- beveling...car body parts are rounded beveled..i've tried to use the bevel plugin but it doesn't work at all...and if i try to bevel it manualy the spline which is connected to the beveled spline curve lose its curve smoothness and bias values..i have version11,how can i have a perfect rounded bevel for the front hood for example. 2- each time i try to add a CP in a spline curve, the curve become unsmooth..and the bias values changes...is there a way to avoid this? 3- what's the best way to write a tutorial...as a PDF file, as a w…

Hey guys! I entered an art competition for my congressional district and (obviously) I used AM to make my entry! The top 3 winners got scholarships to the Art Institute of Atlanta. Unfortunately, I didn't win. Though I have been told that the judges were REALLY looking at it and that it got several "OOh"s and "Aah."s when the staff was hanging it up. No worrys! Now I can hang it up in my room. The Picture A couple notes: -This is about 2 weeks of work. -The printed version has twice the resolution and is 24 by 24 inches. -The shuttle's front windows aren't there as no one can see them in the shot. So....How am I doing?

Well after a little bit here, a little bit there and over four months later I have more or less finished my latest flick from the Bella Bear Project I have been working on... It still needs some refinement and I have banged my head against the wall a fair few times, especially with particles and volumetric lights but this is as far as I have got - please be kind I couldn't resist showing you what I have been up too... Emerald Pictures and Sapphire Animation, both independent production companies made up of completely volunteer workers, are working together to develop and produce "Myrl," a fantasy/adventure epic. Hello everone does anyone have any idea what happed to shaun freeman. The first and last I heard of shaun was form the hash demo sync he made for AM. His demo is the best and most realistic I have ever seen. But his Demo act has no dope sheet for the words. So I am guessing he must have used some other program to do the lip sync. His poses for the Lips and mouth have noe Phoneme, Mind you I think the dictionary needs to be edited. The C D G N R S TH Y Z dont real make the same lip poses nor dose M P B. Started on a new movie based on Shadowrun the RPG. So far I have 2 other people helping me with this project. I'm doing all the modeling and choreography. I need someone who can do textures and materials and to help with the renderings. My script writter has done an excellent job coming up with a good plot and characters. I am working on a project and decided to create an object in Version 13 beta one. I have created a face and began to work on the mouth portion of the character. I tried to extrude the inner lip and then scale. The extrusion will only scale on one of the axis. If I create a extrsuion outside the character's face the extrusion and scaling will work correctly. Also, after I copy/flipped/attached the face, the mirror mode works only some of the time. I have sent a report on both but wanted to know if anyone had run into this or do I have a setting wrong after installing beta one Steve

this is basically a couple of decals..one for displacement then one for color on a small grid. The other object is a prop from the cd and the sky is a rotoscope from the cd. Hey guys! Here is a character i've been working on the rigging for over the last week for a short film i'm involved in. So these are mainly to test out his skeletal rig (no facial poses yet) The rig I finally settled on uses the TSM2 and wieght mover, with Cog bones for the knees and elbows (Thank you Mike Fitzgerald!) and custom CP wieghting to fix a few other problems. The rig seems to be working pretty well so far, comments and crits welcome. -Ethan You may want to save these so you can play them looped in your player. This little problem is proving to be a right headache... Have a look at the frame below and notice the rendering time for the anti-aliasing. Over one hour for pass1 and over two hours for pass2 - this seems rediculous considering the frame before only took 8 minutes! The scene is using particles and volumetric lights but why the sudden jump in render times from one frame to the other???

Hi I spent the last few days messing around with froggy wild west shoot out. This is just the humble beginnings. This is nowhere near the final level. The buildings will not be all the same texture and height. They are just there for my basic layout. I have a start on the stable and the general store though. I will need to make tons of props and stuff. My friend jin kazama is going to help me out. I'm gonna spend the rest of the week in torque working on the two game. I rendered this with multipass (4 passes) with occlusion sampling at 20%. It took 35 minutes to render. I am so grateful to the Hash team for AO. Even teh vegetation looks great. There is room for improvement and I welcome it. Now one thing, I wasn't able to render with pixel displacement and ambient occlusion - the computer memory gets completely consumed and I reported this. What you see here is bump in V13beta but bump in beta looks way better than v12 I think.

I am stumped. Take a look at this image and see if you can figure it out. I have a camera moving through a scene but suddenly a few frames in I suddenly get this... I have checked all the lights, all the cameras and cannot see what is causing it. I am using two volumetric klieg lights, one shining directly down and the other through the doorway. Even when I turn the one pointing directly down off, I get the same problem. When it is on and the camera is out of the lights cone I still get the same problem. Is it just an anomaly? Or have I got a bug? Anyone with any ideas about it would be most helpful

Here is a project file and VERY quick model to show that you can always model when you don't have a more elegant way to figure something out. From what I recall, shock waves decay out of the exhaust and that's why you get that's the bright diamond pattern. Set glow, roughness and transparency. Cheers, Eugene and the project file. E
