Will this is my first (somewhat) finished project. I teach 4th grade, and each year every class does a short, three minute, video about Christmas from a different country. Many of the teachers just tape something quickly to be done with it. I always turn it into a production, and produce a more edited product. So with that, this year I created a "Bug" to introduce our production. We always call the move from my room: "112 production".....because my room number is 112. So this 30 second video is about 60 hours: modeling, rigging, animation, rendering, and editing the final. It may not seem like much, but I learned a lot from doing this. Any feedback woul…

Just a little something I was busy on this weekend, thought I could get some comments. I modeled a Starship Enterprise and it was my goal to get it as detailed as possible. It's still in the works. (I have to add an animated door, some decals and some lights.) Without further adeu, the Big-E! I also decided to do a drastic re-design of the Galileo. It' was inspired by an Enterprise-E shuttle. Please give me some feedback!

Hello everyone. I am starting to get into the more complex aspects of A:M, but I'm still back here in version 12 and all my books are back west, 2,088 miles away. If anyone can help me with how you'd do this, roughly, that'd be great. I was playing with mist and steam volumetrics but nothing seemed to be doing what I want. Here is what I'm after. It's a dark, misty morning with the sun rising over the mountains. As the sun rises, so does a ground mist. It starts whispy and turbulant and soon it obscures the scene and then blows away. This will reveal my logo and will be used on videos and presentations that I do. Thanks in advance. -W

I dug up an old friend of mine, the stupid robot I made a few years ago. I've been tinkering with SynthEyes the last couple of days. Basically I recorded a video of my desk with my mobile phone and imported it into SynthEyes, did the tracking and adjustments then exported it to A:M. I see there is some jittering on the tracking, but overall I'm satisfied. The animation is just an old and crappy action I made long time ago. I've started a short called Mean mr Mustard. It is about a guy who is obviously mean and doesn't have any friends, but he trie to become nicer. This is a picture of him. as you can see he is a Mustard bottle. Basicly every character in this film is a condiment. It's original.

This is my entry WIP. mov 2 (still blocking) is the reflection that I want to import as Image Sequence into A:M and project it on the mirror surface. I have never done it before. How does it work? A Still Shot I put together in a couple of days for a client to show the look of a 3 min. piece to be used in a motion simulator. I will be producing 3 to 4 POV adventure animations per year so my work on "alien Invasion" will have to slow down or be put on hold. What do you think? Camillo

It is the first time I get this far in a 3d project. Actually, it is done but these is a problem with the camera, you will see that it does a 360. Is there any way to prevent this? the project was proposed to me by a friend promothing sciences to high school students. Hi! I have a question. I want to use several actions in one choreo on one model. I have got two pathes. One for the character to walk into the scene, and one to walk out. I although have got a walkcycle with stridelength... Inbetween there are other actions to keep the real animation in. The walk in and the animation itself worked nicely. Now I want to let the character walk out of the scene... I gave the character a constraint to the path and now I want to make the walkcycle action active. But the action isnt available... It is there, I can click on the part where it should be and see the selection-frame, but I cant see the red bar which indicates …

Thought I'd try something today just for kicks. I had noticed in v14 that you can export OBJ files... I don't recall in previous versions of having a workable feature of this. So - I decided to test it out in getting some displacement and normal map textures for a model. I started with a basic 4 point patch and unwrapped it for texturing purposes - and so that when I export the model I'd have it already unwrapped for whatever program I use to sculpt the texture details in. Once I exported this patch I loaded it up in my sculpting app.. For this test I used Silo. I sculpted in a sort of - I guess you'd call it an eye and then exported the displacement map and No…

yeah, it sounds crazy, but i guess it's worth a shot. i am trying to create wolfs, specifically wolfs from the anime Wolf's Rain. for now i am going to start with Kiba (the white wolf), so far i made an "outline" of him from these images: ... i am beginning with the nose, then up the face. however, i might need some tips like how to model a wolf's mouth and the eyes. here is what i have so far in wireframe: hope you like it so far, even though it sucks

I needed to show a Christmas present UNwrapping, so first I did the bow unwrap in an action using muscle-mode animation to sort of 'undraw' itself. Once it was gone the ribbons wrapping around the present were free to fall- and SimCloth did the trick with very little futzing. Hello all, I have been a little slow in getting this post out. I have been REALLY busy. Many of you do not know me. I am not really very good at AM! I grew up on Lightwave but have always been amazed at the power and capabilities of AM since version 3, my first version. I saw it at SIGGRAPH but when I got home with it and tried to use it, I wanted to kill everyone! Needless to say documentation has been lacking for a while now! Anyway, I tried again at version 5. Well I felt like I needed to post a WIP, just to show that Im actually working on something, LOL, not just visiting the forum, A crawdad-ish model I modeled for no reason other than to get back to it. I also wanted to learn to combine Materials and Decals together (I used 3D painter for the decals) I personally like seeing models showcased within an animation thats why the Mov file with the model with some movement (just quickly done in an action). Hey, everybody...as my time draws short (1 1/2 weeks) I've been trying to finish all of the things I've wanted to get done. One of those things was going back and cleaning up all of the modeling/animation/lighting errors in my movie Well...it turns out that I only had time to correct 1 shot and I chose the one that I felt had the best overall animation. I'm working on my employer's animated company greeting again and I'll be posting some renders here as I progress. Thus far I've taken the Santa Lion model from the cd and made him into a "real" Santa, and modeled his sled and bag of presents. here's a still. This came to me on Wednesday, I 'boarded it on Thursday, modeled it on Friday, animated Saturday, and finished it tonight. (All in between full-time work and college.) I intend to include it as part o' my Halloween card to fiends and family via e-mail. (Hooray for Hash!) Have I mentioned I adore this software? Hi Everyone, I am making a Honey Pot and I would like the 3D Text to sit on the outside surface of my pot. Instead of using decal, I want the text to have 3d thickness. Would anyone know how to do this? Also, I lost the model 3x when I hit the undo button two times in a row. I thinking it might be related to the curled in top surface. Was I going too fast?
