Hi, A very loooong time ago I decided to make some really cool water plugins for A:M, but for a number of reasons I haven't been able to get started. Now I think I have some time to spare, though. However, as I understand it, the v12 SDK will include some new functions that will be very useful for my water plugins and if I have waited this long, I think I can wait yet another month or two. In the meantime I'd like to program something else and I thought of a new Terrain Wizard. Is this a good idea or is the old one good enough? If you think it's a good idea, then what features do you want it to have? Don't let reality stop you Maybe your particular…

The Voodoo Camera Tracker has been discussed on these forums lately. To be able to use it in A:M, I have programmed an import plugin. It works for me, but since it's a quick hack, you should expect it to have bugs. Also, it's not documented at all so help your self until I have some more spare time. Since Voodoo is free for non commercial work, so is my plugin. Please report bugs and make feature requests in this thread IVoodoo001.zip

I have released today a new version from the NewtonPhysics plugin for A:M . Some words before . - the new version works only with V12.0p and higher - Sorry for the mac guys, at this time a mac version is not avaible, because there is no V12 SDK avaible for the mac . I have sent the source to Hash , hopefully they can compile them .... - there are two known problems, but I would not longer wait with releasing this version (and workarounds are available), read the known problem section attentively What's new - breakable joints between pieces of a model - fixed and breakable joints between dynamic and static objects (and Nullobjects) - A:M forces now c…

We hope you guys submit lots of models . We will be advertising the store when we have enough models submitted and have a little more funds. We will use google pay per click advertising to start. If it takes off we will grow from there. We realize there have been other shops in the past that have trie…

Obviously the forum is undergoing changes and this seemed the best place to post this since the 3rd Party area is no longer available; I assume that someone will move it if needs to be moved. A few things: You need DirectX 9 installed. Nothing is changed in this beta except for the addition of 3D preview. If you don't care about previewing your mesh before opening it in AM, then you don't need this beta since I haven't added an option yet for enabling/disabling 3D preview. Don't expect much from the 3D preview. AM TerraForm is meant to create a model file that you can open in AM to texture and do so far more quickly than you could model it in AM. AMT i…

I like a lot of people on the forum, have a render farm. There are times where it sits idle. Is there an interest in people on the forum to contract/rent/barter for rendering services? Seems to me (reminds me of an old James Gang Song), there was some discusion about this a couple of years ago, and it didn't go anywhere. For those of you that don't know, a render farm greatly decreases your render time as the farm distributes your frames across the slaves and deposits them in a central location. The files are rendered out as .tga frames only (till V12 comes online), all audio work has to be done seperately. All files could be transfered back and fort…

Eggprops is now offering Video Tutorials. Yay! There are currently three available. Rigging, Joint Constraints and Geometry conversion between A:M and L<cough>wave. We won't talk about that last one. BUT! The Joint Constraints video is quite cool. It walks you through how to use bones and constraints to rig things like knees, the webbing between fingers and even a woman's breast! I have made a video only quicktime preview for it <here> The Rigging tutorial is also very helpful. It shows you the basics of the 2001 or "Eggington" rig. AND!!! to help start things off. . . we are going to offer a special promotion. …

VERSION 1.0 While there are still many things I can do to increase the capabilities of AM TerraForm, I have already exceeded what I originally set out to accomplish 10 months ago, so I'm calling version 1 complete. This version was mostly for giving the community something they were asking for and for gauging what the community might be willing to pay for the effort involved in creating it. Given the almost complete lack of monetary interest on the part of the AM community for further development, I can't say for certain what will happen to it in the future - for the moment it's done. New in this release is Undo/Redo for the Smoothing option. I have also include…

I've attached a render of a model that the wonderfully talented William Sutton recently completed for a little adult only A:M project I'm working on... This little lady needs a big muscular male co-star for her upcoming films. If you have the talent and interest in this type of work, please email me (karl.miller8@verizon.net) a link to samples of your work and I'll respond with complete specs for the model and a request for quote. If I like your quote, I'll provide you with a contract and 3 references of A:M artists I have worked with so far. Thanks for your consideration, Karl Miller Star Pyramid Productions Times Extreme, Inc.

Bridging spline patch to polygon model and streamline production process for better efficiency, harnessing the best of both worlds with one effort. Greetings all Hashers, the year 2006 will have another milestone for Animation Master in making high quality 3d not just within AM but all the way to its polygon counter part. From this year onwards, I will produce models for all levels with AM at the cost of a burger and adopt Buy once, Resell forever marketing to kick start the compilation of affordable 3d-assets, beginning with 3d-ebook which contain interactive 3d preview in Java and high-res 3d in pdf (instant 3d imaging for 2d artists) at: www.3d-ebook.com The 3d co…

I want to take a picture, a jpeg that is red and white, that has some black for outlines, and put it into AI. That part I can do, the problem that I have is that when i put it into A:M, it just comes out as a big block. What I need help with is within AI, how would I take the white parts of the picture, and lets say cut them out, so when I put it into A:M the red parts of the picture is the model, but the white parts are wholes. If I am confusing you, think of the Font Wizard and AI Tech Talk. The logo that gets imported into A:M has stars on it that go all the way through the model. That is what I want to happen with the white part of the picture I am tr…

Back in the mid 90's (1890's...I'm very old) I used to used to model with RayDS and it had a great feature for positioning models relative to each other. You could actually move models to butt up against each other as the program would sense their surfaces touching. So putting a glass on a table was simply a matter of dragging it to the surface until the glass stopped moving. Is this possible to acheive in A:M or is there a technical challenge that won't allow it? Boy, would love to be able to have my vehicles sense the road surface. I realize there is a "surface constraint", but it doesn't seem to lend itself to a vehicle travelling long distances. Wh…

Hi all, wonder if any one posted this before, or is this the right place to do it. My job requires working with 3D sculptors who worked in ZBrush and Freeform and my duty is to provide the necessary poses for them to base on for sculpting, and A:M is of course my choice for doing the poses. It was always a problem for me however to get some necessary models form them back into AM as a decent model rather than props. Today I seem to have figured out a way using Autodesk Remake: https://remake.autodesk.com/about Remake allows me to import a high density STL file And I can reduce the polygon size dramatically Check the file for errors and then e…

I am attempting to export a model from A:M. Maya and several other software give an "error".... To make a long story short, I need to export from A:M and it won't work. Any ideas why these plugins don't work correctly? Or ways to work around this? Can "Hooks" or "5 point patches" be the problem? I went back to V.16 and tried that version, but received the same welcome in other Apps......"ERROR"

I have grab the new LW upgrade with 2 free plugins, and of one that is a stand alone that works well with many other program. It could be use with Hash with the MDD and object file export. mainly do 2 big things, fix any animation quirks and poke thru on the fly and create new expression of facial animation to give it more organic touch flair on the fly. $400 for a stand alone may be a bit too much for what it does. But I love it!

Are there any 3rd party plugz that allow you to render an A:M animation to a vector file for use in Flash? Or do newer versions of the A:M offer that render option? I thought I had seen this topic discussed before, but I'm afraid time isn't on my side to allow for a lengthy search of the boards. I also apologize if this isn't the right place for this question. Thanks to all for their time and effort on my behalf. C.

I'm looking to get a new computer for x-mas. So my first question which computer system would work best to make animations on using Animation Master a Mac G5 or a Dell Alienware (dell acquired Alienware)? Also I really wanted to participate in the production of TWO but my old computer was just way to slow. So for my second question what is the best system setup? Inother words which processors i.e. AMD chips or Pentium, dual or quad microprocessors and what is the best bus speed.

Hi all I am desperate to be able to colour keyframes in AM's Timeline. The default RED is nice but imagine the ability to be able to colour your keyframes! RED for key poses, BLUE for breakdowns and so on and so on. Is any one willing to write a little facility or plugin that will facilitate this? For sale of course! Thanks Jof

I figure this is very likely built into Netrender, but has anybody done their own render job automation with the "Non-Netrender" version of A:M? I've been wondering if I could use something like a command line script to que up multiple rendering sessions. At this point I'm mainly curious whether it's possible. I've purchased a second copy of A:M specifically so I can have one machine (legitimately) rendering while I'm happily animating or modeling on another. I'm about to start building a new PC with a quad-core processor to do the heavy lifting part. I figure, if I have a number of shots worked out, it might make sense to que them up for rendering if there…

Hey guys. I am pretty new to Animation Master. I've had it for years, but rarely used it until now. I was looking at tutorials for Patching...but I do not get how to do it, and have tried many things on my own. Could anyone help me? My goal is to make Shoulders patch with Torsos to give a smooth look instead of two shapes put together, so that when it bends, it shows a whole edge of, lets say, a cylindrical object. Its hard for me to explain. I basically just want smoothness in joints and the ability to round corners. I don't get ANY of the patching systems available in AM. By the way, I am using Animation Master 2002. Thanks.

Hey everyone, I was wondering if I could use the clothing packages from sites like Daz 3D or Poser models and apply them to a character made in AM? The reason I ask is I am just starting with AM, and I need to make a animation and really need some clothes 8/ I can model the scene, and the bar tables and stuff, but I am still learning how to model and apply clothes. Hopefully the DVDs I just ordered will fill me in, but until then I still have to get the bills paid. If anyone has a decent library of mens and womens clothing, maybe you could get in touch with me about purchasing some? Thanks for any input JF

Would be quite cool because it is open source and available for Windows, Mac OSX and Linux (so that is not that important). Somebody knows something about that? See you *Fuchur*

I just discover that Pauline is one of the new character for poser, and I think they had a game engine in mind with that model, because I just notice that Pauline have about half the polygon that Victoria 4 have. I was able to import Pauline into Hash, and has very few patch issues. It also moves around inside of Hash and quite workable. This might be the workflow in getting a ready made model into Hash. They also have Paul the male figure that im guessing about the same level of polygon suitable for import.

I've been getting into photography pretty heavily these days, and ran across mention of a little FREE app called Autostitch. The killer thing is that it has some definite potential applications for 3D work as well. Here's the super-short summary: Autostitch will take any number of source images and automatically blend them together into a single seamless panorama image. Want super-easy reflection maps? Just render a bunch of overlapping shots from the same camera position, throw them into Autostitch, and BOOM! The same thing can give you an easy way to take your 3D scene and create panorama images for use with QuicktimeVR. Even if it's not a full 360-degree…

Hello. Is the Zevel plugin, which adds a bevel to splines, supposed to work in Animation:Master version 13? I downloaded the plugin here: http://www.kci-group.com/z/zevel.htm I installed it into my htx directory, and then I tried selecting a single CP along a donut, like the example shows, but it always crashes the program. I just ordered the Puzh plugin. I hope that one works! Sincerely, Carl Raillard

Hi Steffen, First let me thank you for your awesome collection of plugins! I started playing with SimpleScatter for V13. I made a very basic model of a hill by deforming a grid in magnet mode, brought it into the Choreography and deleted the ground. Then I used SimpleScatter on the hill, selected a very simple tree model, and set it to 30 copies. It resulted in only 6 trees but four of them are floating above the hill model. I've tried this a few more times but no luck. Again, thanks for the great plugins you give to the A:M community. If you do have some time to look at this, I've attached the sample file I used. -Jim scatterExample.zip

This is the printed version of the A:M Technical Reference that is available online. I have edited it and formatted it to get it into book form. It is print-on-demand through cafepress. When you order a book, they print it, bind it, and ship it to you. It is black and white, 226 pages, $23.98 You can get it here: http://www.cafeshops.com/zandoria.9928938 I am planning on doing a new one for V12 later this spring. If you are using the current version of A:M (11.1) then the first chapter on INTERFACE is obsolete, so just ignore it. There is documentation of dynamic constraints properties on the online version that was unavailable when this version was published-…

Hello fellow Hashers, I have made a model in Animation Master that I want to have made into a real life version. It is a reconstruction of an ancient sundial that I want to have made for educators to teach with. I have approached a number of companies and have found one near where I live that I would like to work with. Unfortunately they don't support AM files or 3DS. They specifically want IGES or SolidWorks. I am running AM version 11.1h on a PowerMac 1Ghz Dual Processor G4 in OS 10.3.9. The only format AM seems to export to on a Mac is 3DS. But when I checkout the file in a program like Wings3d it seems that this format has problems with 5 point patches and ho…

As you may have noticed, some tools (Adobe Premiere, for instance) don't like the A:M file sequence numbering convention, so they have difficulty importing a complete file sequence generated in A:M. (They really should have an option for this convention.) A:M numbers files myfile0.tga, myfile1.tga ... myfile100.tga while Premiere wants them to be myfile000.tga, myfile001.tga ... myfile100.tga. I wrote a Windows application that makes renumbering files pretty easy, which I am releasing as freeware. It requires the .NET 3.5 runtime, which you may already have on your machine. As often happens with .NET, the executable file is small. You can find it here: File Seq…
