Stunning aerial footage of what looks like a giant Muppet rampaging through downtown Dullsville... at 11... I had a little fun with the SynthEyes demo project, and thought the results were worth sharing. My sources tell me there may also be footage from one of the fleeing onlookers... at least if I can spend the $350 bucks on SynthEyes. Enjoy! ShaggyAttack.mov

Just a quick test of hair, first time outside of TAOAM. Attached is a ZIP of the project and movie. Sorry, AVI only. [bTW, when uploading an AVI, the forum says "Upload failed. You are not permitted to upload this type of file".] Some of the hairs go through the ears, but the effect seems to be okay. Is there a good strategy for getting hair to be routed in areas that don't necessarily match the splinage? ETA: Just found John Bigboote's post on HAIR. ShaggyHair_cam.zip

Howdy. I took some mocap data I got from a reputable source and put Shaggy on it. And Shaggy said to me, "Zach, man, I love this motion and all, but GEEZ is it COLD in this computer!" So I gave him a shirt. I think it turned out nice--there are some penetration issues at this point toward the end, and it fails completely when Shaggy actually penetrates himself and leaves the cloth with nowhere to go. More experimentation is in order. Next up--PANTS! ShaggiZachTwo.mov

Hello, Hashers. Though I've had A:M for a while, I've only recently (like, this weekend!) been able to sit down with it and actually start learning how to do stuff. This short animation is the first real "thing" I've produced. (17 secs, Quicktime, about 2.7Mb.) I'd appreciate some feedback. Thanks, Alan. PS - You might want to turn your speakers down.

Hi all! Here is a clip of Shaggy riding a tandem bicycle that I modeled. (it still needs chain rings and a chain, but I couldn't wait). The tandem is rigged such that when you translate it, it automatically spins the wheels and pedals. Learned how to use expressions on this one. A cool feature. Enjoy, Scott Shaggy_Rides.mov

Downloaded the Iccarus software which analyzes video and re-creates a camera tracking solution which can then be imported into A:M. The video clip is from the Iccarus tutorials. I followed along with the documentation to create the tracking solution and exported the track into an A:M v9.5 project. The project loaded just fine into A:M 13. Then took Shaggy and added him to the chor and had hip skip merrily through the scene. For a first shot at doing this, I think it turned out fairly well (as far as the camera tracking goes). I know the lighting does not match the scene and Shaggy is too crisp and sharp compared to the video, but it was just a test. C&a…

I seperated the cloth from the rest of the model added a plaid decal some hair a little mysterious lighting and you get Shaggy's blind date. By the way I 've been rendering to tgas then converting to qt in the Beta1 with no problems and tried some other stuff..hair... volumetric lights ..seems pretty stable Oh if there is any requestd I'll post the project betadress2.mov

Shaggy called me at work the other day, and told me that he was tired of being homeless, and asked me if I could help him get a house. So, being the caring guy I am, I decided to build him a house, nothing to fancy, and still needs work, cause all it has is a garage, and a living room. So, I was needing a little input on how to add the interior to this model. It is scaled at 22 feet high, about 40 or so feet wide, and the garage is about 30 feet deep or maybe shorter I cant remember. Anyways, just thought I would get some advice from fellow hashers. Thanks James [attachmentid=11777]

http://www.barkerfamily.plus.com/flash/handshake/index.htm i have finished the opening part of the movie but there is still loads to do. Once the sun it at its highest then its just shaggy running so no more to see at the moment. please note that there is no preloader required, so no waiting time at all as i have used a progressive download for the music and some of the video. you will need a flash 8 player in order to watch it.

I wanted to try out the new rig on Shaggy. The rig works very nicely, I made an extensive use of IK FK switching, and it's IK FK OK friendly. The hand rig is great. I picked up the 11second club sound file, and I have put many hours since. Shaggys.mov Michel

Hello everone does anyone have any idea what happed to shaun freeman. The first and last I heard of shaun was form the hash demo sync he made for AM. His demo is the best and most realistic I have ever seen. But his Demo act has no dope sheet for the words. So I am guessing he must have used some other program to do the lip sync. His poses for the Lips and mouth have noe Phoneme, Mind you I think the dictionary needs to be edited. The C D G N R S TH Y Z dont real make the same lip poses nor dose M P B. I guess shaun realised this and has found some t other way to do the lip sync. I have re worked his modle to use the phonemes that hash uses but the effect is n…

Hi all, I am thoroughly enjoying my A:M apprenticeship and have now completed my final lesson (not yet accepted by my Mentor though). Here it is: http://higginsdj.250free.com/downloads/Lesson6.mov Note that you may have to navigate to my gallery (theatre) page and access it there as 250Free may not allow direct linking (see below) My other efforts can be seen here: http://higginsdj.250free.com/theatre.htm This was by far the most complex animation I have ever done as it comprised 3 Chors (3 Shots) each with up to 5 blended actions overloaded with Chor Action. If nothing else I have learnt a lot about blending actions in A:M http://higginsdj.…

Homepage for Ballet Pour Ma Fille: AppleSnake Original discussion thread: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2288 -- Ok, the title to the old thread just sucked- can't figure out how to edit titles... so, new thread. Anyway, here's a simple little Fouette-type turn by RG, who is the dancer in the film. Animating ballet is very hard, I've discovered. It is not made easier when the proportions of your character are... not anything like a real ballerina. This took three days to get to this point, and I need to move on- though I'm not satisfied. Need to tone down her head a bit when it moves forward, and I may make her poses a little st…

Hey everyone. I've been reading this forum for a while, and asked a question here and there. I would love to answer some too, but usually I just don't know the answers to people's questions. Hopefully that will change over time, but I'm still a novice, for sure. I thought I could be somewhat useful though by sharing my project in the WIP section and describing my process a little bit. If this post gets any kind of response, I may continue to post updates or answer questions or more likely ask questions on how to overcome my latest technical problem as I continue working on this short. I've been working on my first animated short film on and off for several months. I …

I'm still learning about modeling, rigging and animation, so I appreciate any comments and constructive criticism on how I can improve. Hope you enjoy. This is a fairly simple sequence approaching Titan (moon of Saturn). I'm trying to put together some video to go with songs on the prog rock band Gekko Projekt's upcoming CD. Many of the songs involve a science fiction story about being marooned on Titan. Any comments are welcome and appreciated! Titan Test #1 -Vance

I was rigging a semi-realistic character when I noticed a lot of talk of shoulder rigs. I thought I would have a crack at doing one myself and so I spent a lot of time looking at myself in the mirror and girating (steady vern; you know what I mean) I have attached an animation of the rig in action. The idea was to get the effect of the arm taking over the movement of the end of the shoulder as it goes up. This movement is independant of the main shoulder movement (where the collar bone moves also). If the character is walking then there isn't much movement of the end of the shoulder but as the arm swings up the two connect. The rig is quite complex …

Yep, I've started picking away at another side model, just to keep things interesting, so I figured that I might as well take a stab at a character from pretty much the only video game I play and that would be Master Chief. It seems others have started models of the Chief, but I can find no record of anyone finishing, so let's hope I can finish this one at some point! Now, something I have learned very early on, this model is kinda tricky, lots of weird placements for shapes and stuff, but yeah
