Hi Friends..... Today I start a project, I want to accomplish since last year. This is an animation project I want to conclude by June 2012, to be presented at the 12th edition of Animamundi. The project is called "Trem do Pantanal 2020" and, of course, will happen in 2020. In the state where I live, is the largest flooded area in the world, a sanctuary of natural life, which houses hundreds of birds, mammals and a myriad of insects, this place is called the Pantanal. anyone who has seen my work knows I like the bugeyes I use. What I am asking is to borrow some of you folks talents Would someone design me some killer bugeyes that look really good and I can alter in color to match the character I am making? in other words Some of you are true geniuses when modeling and I am not. Hello! As always it has been a while since I've posted anything here but I have been lurking! I have a new project now that I figured I should post a WIP of. First a little background: As my forum handle suggests, I am a photographer. I shoot a lot of digital but have in the past year gotten into analog photography. I now shoot my own B/W film and develop myself. The very popular and famous film, Kodachrome, was discontinued last year by Kodak. This film which is truly unique will never be made again. Hi guys! I have been away for a while, so I need to catch up :-) I'm preparing a new short film and I will probably use A:M to make it. I'm still using good old v13 (I purchased v14 but I didn't really use it). Is there anything really new in v15? Has anything changed regarding rendering? This new film will be technically much simpler than Chicory 'n' Coffee (I will mostly use A:M for 2D animation- only couple of objects will be made in 3D) so I believe I could do it just fine with version 13... but anyway I would very appreciate first-hand experiences with new version. Hello friends I felt like doing some experimenting the other day. I had a photo of New York taken from the Empire State building The photo is taken by a friend and colleague of me, Johanna Vaart So, I wanted to see if I was able to convert the photo to an anaglyph using A:M. First I used PFHoe, to "track" the photo, by doing so I got the camera position and angle, then I started to create simple proxymodels and placed them accordingly with the photo. When done I made a depthmap using fog. In PhotoShop I used the depthmap as a displacementmap to skew the red channel to the left and green and blue channel to the right. So after being deeply annoyed by some houseflies, I came up with this idea for a short animated piece about a dude trying to kill this one housefly. So I'm going ahead with it as a minor side project. So here are the two characters, my PC connected to the scanner is currently indisposed so I use my laptop webcam to take an picture of the drawings, so I'm sorry for the low res, the high res ones will be posted later

Helping out a friend This is his product. This is the motion graphic representation I made of the logo for him. I had to do the sprite like light paint strokes via apples motion. im having some trouble with my dope sheets i was reworking all of the poses, editing the relationships for the lipsync in my animation. but when i attempted to test it about half of my lipsyncs stopped working i checked my dopesheets and they work fine there attempted to delete and reimport the dopesheet lipsync action thing and they still wouldnt work tested the lipsync inside a new choreography and the lipsyncs work fine their, they just no longer wish to work inside my old choreography does this mean im going to have to rebuild all the lipsyncs in my choreography from scratch? or what is going on?

ok so my friend comes up to me with a drawing he made in paint tells me this is how i want my dream house to look like ( which is just a blueprint top down view) he really wanted to draw it like a sketch but his drawing skills are less than par. so i told him i would take it up and give him a better idea of what he wanted it to look like this is what i have so far any crits or ideas on how to make it look cleaner would be helpful. also making doors and windows ideas would be of great help.

Hello - I know there is a "particle system /hair" that can simulate curls however for a variety of reasons I am attempting to create curly hair using a different method. If you look at the attached image you will see a "simple straight object" and then you will see a "twisted version" of that straight object. If I was just going to create hair using the straight model, I could easily assign a color to the object and then use a transparency map to simulate strands. I can't really apply a transparency map to the twisted version so I figure I will need to assign a Material to the twisted object. The only problem is my skills are weak at creating a materi…

Hello! Once again it has been a while since I have posted a new project. This one is more of a sketch. The idea came when I was daydreaming in class . Here is where I am at: I am using a z-buffed kleig as the sun light, AO for the indirect lighting, and a few fill lights here and there. I'm starting to do some experimentation into the dream sequence for my short film project (storyboard link in my signature). Before I start building I was wondering the best way to acheive certain looks. If you look at this video on YouTube which explains how spacetime curvature effects gravity, there are some parts that represent spacetime graphically as a grid or lines in a matrix. As some of you know, I'm working on the SO sets. Adding trees to the sets are very time consuming. Creating assembly actions for each set and positioning the trees takes alot of time. Using hair to create forests, in most cases is not an option. So I needed to come up with another plan. Here I created a model with multiple trees (trees are basic at the moment). I then constrained the trees to the ground plane in the chor in a pose. Now I can drop this model (multiple times if needed) to create a forest. I can translate and rotate the base model and the trees will follow the terrain. I also have plans to add poses to scale the model and the individual trees. Here's an exam…

I really have taken a break from showing stuff on this forum after a little legal 'mishap'... anyways- I thought some of you would get a kick out of this... Hello everyone, I've been producing a direct to DVD video for some time now. BUT as an animator, I also squeeze in some time to work on my demo reel. Attached is a demo reel sequence I'm finalizing. I've been inspired for some time now to animate something Sci Fi along the lines of a John Carter type theme. Lots of Fun..... I used some of the riggs from the Hash community here. I'm working on an illustration of spin networks in Loop Quantum Gravity, a theory of quantum gravity that seems to be making substantially better progress than String Theory lately. So I didn't actually finish the animation I was working on for animation class last semester, but I still got an A. Now the guy who did the voice over work for Flynn has been asking me when it's going to be done, and when we start on the next episode, so I figure in two weeks, when the semester is over, I should get back to work on it. Trying to design my own lightning effects for new video. I had no idea where to start. So I actually modeled my own bolt of lightning. Added some glow effect and got an effect thats not too bad at all. before I spend more hours modeling another bolt of lightning so I have several I wanted to see what the experts here have to tell me. I've got a simple scene with a central object receiving reflections from a dome that has an HDRI image applied via a projection map. It renders very nicely, but I want to use an alpha channel to composite the object into another scene without the dome background. I tried tga output with the alpha channel enabled, but the resultant alpha is the whole tga, not just the central object. What am I missing here?

A long time ago I seem to remember a thread that talked about blurring an object in motion. The trick was to have the middle to back of the object blurred with a trail in it's wake, but the front of the object was not blurred. Imagine a car or plane or fist in motion with the leading edge in focus and blurring the image as it goes by. I hope I'm explaining this right? MUFOOF may have been used, but I don't recall. Does anyone remember how to do this? Here is a pic that shows what I mean: Front relatively in focus as the rear blurs out inot the blurry background.

I've already made a T rex skull, but I also wanted to try my hand at a human.
