MJL Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 From the looks of it, you can do whatever you choose to. Superb! Quote
jakerupert Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Hi Mark, Great work! Do you have certain plans for her? How come, you don`t have a website? Quote
Vertexspline Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Mark, Now That's amazing! Great job indeed. Awesome. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted January 8, 2012 Hash Fellow Posted January 8, 2012 Very fine looking! Quote
Admin Rodney Posted January 8, 2012 Admin Posted January 8, 2012 I think all of the superlatives have just about been used. You've done a great job on her. Very impressive! Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted January 8, 2012 *A:M User* Posted January 8, 2012 Great job Mark! Great job! Quote
mouseman Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 The best phrase I can come up with does not compare with how good this is. The best I have is: Masterful. Quote
mtpeak2 Posted January 8, 2012 Author Posted January 8, 2012 Thanks everyone. Stunning, beautiful and photoreal. It helps having photorealistic decals. Quote
mtpeak2 Posted January 9, 2012 Author Posted January 9, 2012 Thanks Steve. Here's another version. Quote
jakerupert Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 >It helps having photorealistic decals. You mean, one is the photo and two the model, right! Quote
mtpeak2 Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 Thanks guys. Well, wasn't happy with the hair. here's a new render. EDIT....I'm such an idiot, I forgot to turn ON SSS. I knew something didn't look right. Quote
serg2 Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Fine. What are the parameters you set SSS (%RGB?) Quote
thejobe Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Man I need to learn how to model like this. Guess I need another 10 years under my belt. Quote
steve392 Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Thats a mighty fine bit of modelling Mark I realy like the nose and lips .The hair looks great Quote
mtpeak2 Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 I can't take credit for the modeling, just the modifications. This is the jungle queen model, modeled by Jim Talbot. I just pushed and pulled cps around til I got the look I wanted (magnet and mirror mode ON). SSS settings are 6,4,5 at 150. Quote
serg2 Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Thanks, mtpeak2. I do not have anything good comes out with the parameters below 10 I usually use 12, 22, 44(33) (with the parameters above 10 - the rendering is much faster) Quote
mtpeak2 Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 I find that the RGB values in SSS are relative to the scale of the model. For example, this model is roughly 5 feet tall, but if it was 20 feet tall, these setting probably wouldn't work too well. I would go with the higher numbers. Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted January 10, 2012 *A:M User* Posted January 10, 2012 I really like the look Mark Quote
aen916 Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Great work! Keep posting your progress, I think we'd all love to see it. Quote
Gerry Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Really great work, Mark, and some of the most natural looking hair I've seen. Are you doing their bodies as well? Quote
mtpeak2 Posted January 24, 2012 Author Posted January 24, 2012 Yes, the models have bodies, also decaled and textured. Though, I won't show them til I have some time to model some clothing for them (don't think it's appropriate to show on the forum). I was hoping v17 will be out soon, so I can use the new feature "Snap to Surface" tool. And I have to start experimenting with simcloth. Quote
Walter Baker Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Just found this thread and your models are freekin' awesome. I have tried to get my models like this but not even close, the hair great, been a nightmare for me but still trying. Just an awesome job. Quote
mtpeak2 Posted May 20, 2012 Author Posted May 20, 2012 I was bored, so I gave her a new hairstyle. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted May 20, 2012 Hash Fellow Posted May 20, 2012 Hairstylist to the splines. Good head of hair! Quote
steve392 Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 That nakes it look like a compleately diferant model, nicely done Mark Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted May 20, 2012 *A:M User* Posted May 20, 2012 Fantastic job on the hair, Mark. I love the angle she is looking, nice pose Quote
mtpeak2 Posted May 20, 2012 Author Posted May 20, 2012 Thanks everyone. Where were you for the mascot contest? Since I did not create this model (Jim Talbot), only modified it, I couldn't submit it for the mascot contest. Plus, I don't think this is what Hash was looking for in a mascot. Quote
kwhitaker Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 that is beautiful Mark, from the awesome hair to to beautiful skin. Quote
mtpeak2 Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 Thanks Matt! Testing out Jason's default chor lighting setup and some clothes (still needs work). Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted May 23, 2012 *A:M User* Posted May 23, 2012 No Mark, She looks great! Quote
John Bigboote Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Looking fantastic! Have you tried animating her yet? I have been working on getting hair to not pass thru shoulders in motion, rather wrap around and drag over naturally... I'd be interested to see how her hair interacts with her shoulders and maybe share some settings with you. LOOKS GREAT! Quote
