IrishDocker.bmp IrishDocker.zip Heres something for nothing. Its an arbitrary model for anyone that wants it. [Needs boned] I was just doodling around and this is what I came up with? Not finished completely (hands, hip area).

I created some images for the local residents group to show the effect of widening a road and adding parking on the roadside. I've only had time to build one car, a basic Audi which uses a colour map for most of the detail, but I widened the road in a paint program and then used a camera rotoscope with the ground set to front projection. I might build some more cars, they're always useful for bg / architectural work, but the image is for a meeting tomorrow and will probably never be seen again.

Trying to build a fedora, felt, from the "dapper" '50's. Here's a screen cap of it with A:M's Chor standard lighting. The bow on the left isn't done yet, so this shot hides that fact. porcelain applied to smooth it out, A tiny bit of surface roughness. No decals or maps as yet. comments appreciated. Pretty self explanatory. When I use a decal and apply it as a distortion map, it produces these tears in my model's arms. The percentage is only set to about 70, so it's not like it's stretching the map all to heck and back. The decal is applied in a on/off pose with the models arms set to origin in the correct orientation with a "cylindrical" application method. What is causing these tears?

Tried another reflective idea this with two layers and a rotating sphere(peaked) with one light it only rotates a little since the render time and size would not allow more [attachmentid=11067] this used the fire tgas posted in another area on two layers and one larger sphere with all points peaked and made reflective reflect1.mov

this is basically a couple of decals..one for displacement then one for color on a small grid. The other object is a prop from the cd and the sky is a rotoscope from the cd. [attachmentid=16577] I put the tgas not on the cd in the project file which is v13 [attachmentid=16578] Photoshop in fun to tinker with also adding toonshader version [attachmentid=16597] 2art.zip

Hi gang - Attached is my logo and the start of a little 'signature' that I'll be showing at the beginning of my film(s). I have a short short animation planned for it that I'll be working on and posting here. I'm going for a very shiny floor but so far its not working out. Also I'm getting some major banding on the floor. Is this a lighting issue? Doug

This was the hardest model I've ever attempted. For mechanical models it's relatively easy to find front, side and top reference images, not so much for 1940's movie actresses. Every time I looked at a different 3/4 view of Ann Sheridan with dramatic lighting and did a test render, I found another CP that needed a small relocation or a spline layout that needed a rethink. I can see why 3D scanning of an actor's face is so appealing for a digital replacement. I still don't think the likeness is convincing but I'm sending her to Hair & Makeup anyway! (Maybe I'll say I'm modeling Ann Sheridan's stand-in. 😄 )

I decided to look at bvh files and got one and used shaggy in a very rough attempt to get the feel for using the bvh action. I only matched four points of shaggy to the file which you can see since i did it in shaded mode so it is not very good but you get the idea 653k bvh.mov

I need someone to do landscapes for my series, CLone Commander. Mail me if you think you're qualified. This is a non-paying job. We need 3 different deserts (if you know about Star Wars, it's for Geonosis). Later we'll need 2 dank forests, an ocean, a cave, and 2 snowscapes. For now, though, just the deserts.

Ok, I'm trying to setup my choreography using a smaller mini-sub that I built. As you will see in the "mini-sized" movie clip the sub comes towards the camera from a distance passing over head, the problem is after the sub passes by- the two lights from the front of the sub re-appear and look like they're moving away from the camera. I though originally that the lights in the sub model had corrupted themselves somehow and so I made a new model using just a light this time. In the Project file I'll post shortly; although the light is behind the camera if you look through the camera it appears that the light is in front of the camera. Is this some sort of funky mirror…

We have a case we're working on where bottles inside the vehicle served as a distraction to the driver. My 16 year old son, modeled this bottle. I don't know if there was any fluid in the bottle (although one would think that if it was a distraction it must have). He'll need to figure that part out. Yay! Finally something moving - I need to redo the cp assigning/weighting and play with constraints so the body stops doing goofy things when I try to move the bones, but its a start. I tried to upload an AVI file but it says I'm not allowed. Wonder whats up w/ that.

OK, I am just getting into the game with AO. I have been frustrated with it so far but see potential. Others can create a wonderful look of daylight with it. Here is a shot with basic settings. How do you get a better light for the front? I know someone told me to increase the ambiance of the object but that did not work. Steve

" I'm really glad that most of the songs dealt with peace and understanding. There's hardly any one of them that says: 'Go on kids, tell them to sod off, leave your parents.' It's all very 'All you need is love'. There was a good spirit behind it all, which I'm very proud of. Anyway it were a grand thing, The Beatles" Paul McCartney To me it seems that those times are gone! Now people - even leaders use the sign of the devil. And some people are proud of that they are devils - act like devils. They are believing they understand their own best. I regret them. So far so good... (6-17-06) Spent the WHOLE day on this sucker, making changes and touching up with Displays and other controls. Also added color for more interest... [attachmentid=17554] (6-18-06) Added the Control Stick.... Ooops!, just noticed, forgot the trigger? Next update I guess... [attachmentid=17559] (6-19-06) Added the seat "cushion". Next is: parts of the seat "frame". I was almost in Fray because I wasnt sure how to make the seat look like it had "padding" due to the shape of the seat. But for the moment, it seems satisfactory for a seat? Also added the trigger. I still have to fill it with more unique controls/buttons/seatb…

While I'm waiting to get my Robot fixed I began working on these rotoscopes. They are inspired/copied from an old Golden Age cartoon "The Fox and the Crow." I've always loved crow characters. I found when I was doing my robot that not having a rotoscope was too much freedom and not enough structure, and I got bogged down since I had no direction so I'm hoping this will help. I want a decent rotoscope that will help me plan out the splines, which was another issue I had. Someone said (I think it was the guy who did the Osprey) that you should always work from a rotoscope. Anyway, here it is - any comments are appreciated that you think might improve it, or anythi…
