While I'm waiting to get my Robot fixed I began working on these rotoscopes. They are inspired/copied from an old Golden Age cartoon "The Fox and the Crow." I've always loved crow characters. I found when I was doing my robot that not having a rotoscope was too much freedom and not enough structure, and I got bogged down since I had no direction so I'm hoping this will help. I want a decent rotoscope that will help me plan out the splines, which was another issue I had. Someone said (I think it was the guy who did the Osprey) that you should always work from a rotoscope. I have both the rider, and the X-Machine [the drum-shaped object on a tether] Translated to, and Oriented Like, the Beast. I tried adding a Roll Like, but it did no good. There's gotta be a way. Edit: Apologies. I posted the wrong clip. [the rider is there, but turned off.] WALK_TEST_08.zip

Trying to build a fedora, felt, from the "dapper" '50's. Here's a screen cap of it with A:M's Chor standard lighting. The bow on the left isn't done yet, so this shot hides that fact. porcelain applied to smooth it out, A tiny bit of surface roughness. No decals or maps as yet. comments appreciated. Hi! I have a question. I want to use several actions in one choreo on one model. I have got two pathes. One for the character to walk into the scene, and one to walk out. I although have got a walkcycle with stridelength... Inbetween there are other actions to keep the real animation in. The walk in and the animation itself worked nicely. Now I want to let the character walk out of the scene... I gave the character a constraint to the path and now I want to make the walkcycle action active. But the action isnt available... It is there, I can click on the part where it should be and see the selection-frame, but I cant see the red bar which indicates …

Im looking for a model of a small baby that I can animate. He needs to crawl and walk, so I need movable limbs. Using AM version 10 and not very good at it. Is there a source to buy AM models? Most 3D sites never heard of AM.

Hello all. It's amazing what great things happen on #hash3d, not only interesting conversations, great guffaws and of course now the monthly lectures But for me a couple weeks ago the idea for a "new" story came out of IRC. I don't want to give much a way but the 2 main characters are loosely based on 2 of our well known A:M ers. It will be an action adventure type story if all goes well. Hopefully through diligence on my part my skills will match up to my imagination and I can do the story justice.

Inspired by the short animation by matricks (and follow up film by Xtaz) I made my first kamikaze run at animation. Learned a lot in the process , such as how difficult it is to create convincing motion as well as how obsessive/addictive this sort of activity can be. Fun Stuff!!! found a floor plan on internet for castle simplified it a little in PS setup work path and exported as ai used ai wizard to import ai extruded twice (used sweeper but unnecessary) add image to group (whole castle) instant castle fast shot so scroll it manually this is just a rough idea probably would work better is done by sections castle.mov

I animated a simple distortion box on two simple models to see it this works in beta first shows boxes going over model [attachmentid=16200] the second is results [attachmentid=16201] you might want to move the slider to see the effect slowed down animdistortw.mov animdistort.mov

I created some images for the local residents group to show the effect of widening a road and adding parking on the roadside. I've only had time to build one car, a basic Audi which uses a colour map for most of the detail, but I widened the road in a paint program and then used a camera rotoscope with the ground set to front projection. I might build some more cars, they're always useful for bg / architectural work, but the image is for a meeting tomorrow and will probably never be seen again.

http://johnl.inform.net/pages/flake.htm the link is to a 1.4 meg 7 sec version with a few tweaks still needed ...keyframes that didn't set and a pose slider that delayed abit.. so I tried to hide most of that by compositing it for now below is last frame of the rendered sequence the balance is from an older project looped to alternate

I have started rendering our animations. The first picture is from intro chor and the second is from part two. The animation was broken into 5 parts for animating and rendering. The settings are the same in each chor and this was rendered on one machine and then on net render. Notice the inside part of tool box that there is a shadow? has anyone run into this? The first picture was the first chor and the second picture is the from the second chor. All the other chor are rendering with the black shadow on both a stand alone machine or one in the net render farm. Any thoughts????? Pretty self explanatory. When I use a decal and apply it as a distortion map, it produces these tears in my model's arms. The percentage is only set to about 70, so it's not like it's stretching the map all to heck and back. The decal is applied in a on/off pose with the models arms set to origin in the correct orientation with a "cylindrical" application method. What is causing these tears?

Bit of an odd project but doing some layouts for a crystal that is cut internally with a yag laser, basically 3d etching inside glass. Will have to translate the objects out to something they can use, most likely stl but atleast that is the easy part.

Am trying to set stride length on the Wright Sprite. I can marquee the little yellow dot [it turns black in the center] but it won't move. I get the four-headed arrow cursor by touching it to the yellow dot, but it won't slide. Any thoughts?

FINALLY I started a new semi-time taking project rather than a bunch of one hour mini projects . Here are some sneek peeks of it: No particles and water (9 min @ 3000x1500) Particles on no reflections (Kill render time) Everything on(Raytraced took 1hour45min for this half of the image so I downcroped it to look nice) I've been working on it for about a day now. The grass is just a simple imageplane on a hair emitter same with the branches and leafs in the trees. The atmosphere is a skydome with global lighting at 50% and a sun with shadows at 50%. Well with Jirards head model,where are you Jirard.A walk cycle ,done with the 2008 rigg and hardley done any smartskinning that rigg just seems to get better to use as long as I remember to cfa the model lol dude_walk.mov

Here is a screenshot of the place in the Property panel where you can swap your model in the chor for another model. At the very lease, both models must have the same bones and bone naming convention. If the first model uses an animation rig, the replacement should have the same rig installed.[attachmentid=12459]

I was going to play with V14 A2 but it would not cooperate so after using the terrain editor plugin included in 14 I went back to v13 and played using a spline as a path (shift pick) to do this..toonnation material, clouds from cd etc terrain.mov here's the project minus the images which could be skipped trial.zip
