Will somebody please post an example of muhHair with the settings provided? I am trying to learn muhHair, and I honestly don't think that I am quite understanding the settings. Here is what I have achieved so far.

I rigged a simple mechanical model to rotate two arms. This model will be multiplied in an action 10x. Is there a way to move the rigged arm on one of the instances and have that carry over to the other 9 instances? The arms should all move in tandem. One bone at a time is very tedious.

Well, I drew these two views of my own little musclecar on a whim and decided to model it just for fun. Holy cow has this been hard. I think I have about 6 hours into it already. Been having lots of trouble figuring out the noseplate behind the headlights, but I think I have if figured. I need to totally redo it from what you see below but the concept is working. Man, some of these realistic 3d models of cars I've seen, I don't know how they do it. It's tricky to get precise measurements too. Here it is so far.

Well, I've tried following David Rogers' tutorial in his book. Here's what I have so far. I'm not necessarily going for 100% anatomically correct, but I would like that muscular/superhero style look. Please, crits are welcome as I'm not very good at the organic side of modeling Fortunately, about a year ago I did this fairly intensive study of the muscular male body for some superhero drawings I was doing, so I have a fair idea of the proportions on paper, translating to 3D is a bit trickier for me

Hi all I had posted these in the tutorial section and thought it might be wise to post them here for more feedback. This is a character I have created for a music video I am producing for an Indie recording artist out of Buffalo, NY. It is going to be a combination of 3D and 2D. Please let me know what you all think. Cheers! They were created with the great help of Barry (Bizzle) and his amazing A:M Training DVD Bundle. I just finished rigging him and I will be modifying the model into a lioness soon. Storyboard is nearly complete and will be going to the client this week. Enjoy!

hello hashers, yesterday i started a new big project, i´ll need your help here the next few weeks, technical and motivational i guess here´s the thing: a friend of mine wich is a music producer came to me with a veeeery cheesy and catchy song and asked if i could make a 3d-video for that so we can sell it to a big provider for mobile-phone ringtones here in germany... at this moment the no. one hit there is a music video with a little rabbit and his carrot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9muADLVPjq8 ... this thing even did it to the top10 here... unbelievable... so we thought, hey, why not try this by ourselves. i already talked to the provider, the condition…

This is approximately half of the music video that was made as comment on political process and ability of members of the parliament of my country... http://trajcedrv.mylivepage.com/file/?fileid=493 (You'll probably need to copy link and paste it in your browser to be able to download it) Unfortunately I didn't made it on time for the elections this year, and you'll probably miss the whole message... so what... I hope that you'll like the music (My wife Marina composed it) and if you really, really want to know, I'll post rough English translation. (Words by my Brother, John) I wasn't going for perfect animation (I tried to be as fast as possible), bu…

Actually, it's supposed to look like that... I went through Colin's tutorial, but I used front and side rotoscopes of two different women, one chinese, one japanese. (I wanted her to look asian, but of indeterminate origin). The only thing I'm not quite happy with is the ears, other than that this model went swimmingly. I'm still kind of new to A:M, I've had it for a couple of years, but I've been too wrapped up with a couple of other programs to learn, so I still have a lot to study, but I'm looking forward to it.

This is my attempt at doing the voice of the main character of my current project. She is an approximately-ten-year-old girl who reaches the age of early 20s by the end the project, so her voice should change a little between the beginning and end of the story. I figured, by doing the voice myself, I could change the voice as needed. Self-directing is easier than telling someone else exactly what you need. (also, it makes it less daunting to do multiple takes). I thought I would post this test (or self-audition) here on this site to get the opinions of my fellow animators, whose opinions I trust. And, yes, I borrowed, verbatim, the dialog from Jason Osipa's ani…

I had some time in-between projects and an idea for the 11 second club's provided soundtrack this month, so I slapped together an entry. I don't expect to do well, it's always fun participating tho. The only thing I needed to model was the room to match my vision... the characters and car are all old models from old projects. Now, back to WORK! It will be available to view with all the other entries in early March. http://www.11secondclub.com/ 11sec.mov

Ok, This was my entry: I made it from Floor Plans that I found on the web. Had I known there would be so many great entries, I'd have used some more elaborate plans, but then I probably wouldn't have had time to finish. Here is the model with no textures, just AO: Nearly all the textures came from CGTextures.com (I believe I used 5 images total). The background image is a photo I took here in the Hudson Valley. I had planned to do some landscaping with plants, but something went wrong somehow with the choreography file, and Cookie cuts wouldn't render right. I tried to reproduce the results in test choreographies, but sometimes I could, someti…

Well, it's probably way overdue that I post a WIP thread on this project, so here's what I've got so far: This is the body for one of the two characters. Today I'll be working on modeling the head, texturing and rigging him. The other character is going to be cloned from this completed model. I'll need to make some minor changes to differentiate the two, like the other character will have longer sleeves, a thinner build, some minor tweaks to the face, and different hair/facial hair. But for all intents and purposes, the brunt of the work is going to be done on this character (Rigging, facial setup, etc) and the other character will just be a duplicate. Se…

I'm working on an animation demo reel. It was all animated in A:M, so I thought the WIP forum would be appropriate. What I have now is about 5 min in length. I've heard that 2-3 minutes is optimal for a demo reel, so I would like to trim it down to that. I would be grateful if you will look at what I have and tell me what clips you like and what clips ... not so much. Here is the link to a low resolution version with frame numbers: http://www.holmesbryant.com/files/video/Ho...Demo_draft1.mov (27MB) Thanks

http://amfilms.hash.com/search/entry.php?entry=754 HI EVERYONE! Ken helped me post an animation I made last year for Chrysler's Auto Show AV support. I really like the way that AM Films is coming along. I work for a video post-production house in Detroit, so we do LOTS of automotive and nuts and bolts stuff. Every once in a while someone will want some cool character stuff instead of charts and graphs. A:M has been an incredible addition to my graphics capabilities and has elavated my portfolio and workload. This video (Jeep TREO Unveilling) was used to build anticipation for the 'magic moment' when a tarp is whisked off of a car at an autoshow. After th…

One of the new users wondered if I try to do a walk cycle on this guy so I thought I would give her a go. This is very rough and in shaded mode. I am concentrating on the legs and feet right now. I haven't done any weight or secondary motion except on the feet. lots of work to do on it as time permits. I was watching the scene in jurassic park where the trex is chasing the guy with the flare. I haven't watch that movie for a long time and still is state of the art. I am looking forward to some feedback. I have gotten to the point of animating the water map as per tut, but only get a couple of seconds of choppy movement on the displacement map, not the smooth rolling motion in the tutorial clip. The tut is written with v.10 in mind and does not translate exactly into v.11. I am missing something, somewhere and can't figure out what. Can someone please help me figure this out? I was able to do it once, but am unable to repeat it. Help. I'm going to upload what I have in the WIP section. If anyone can look at my file and get it to work, I'd be ecstatic. Eric Water_Tut.prj

I have been thinking of starting a project over winter break. Of the ideas I had the idea to "3d-erize" my room won. I started so far by just modeling the main objects in my room: desk, shelves, dresser, bed. The bed right now is just a modified version of the bench from my piano project, It is just there to a be a deformer for the cloth system sheets I plan to put over it. 1 Light, radiosity about 2 hours 4x4pass Note- There is quite a bit of distortion from the 15mm perspective. I was thinking of modeling a calculator for awhile, but then I started. It has an insane 1492 patches. Originally, before spline reduction, it had well over 2000 patches. I sort of did a small preparation before hand for this by modeling my masterlator. I don't know what it should do, I just made it as preparation. I'm the creator, how should I know what it does? Anyway here's a pic of that: Note that the M is not a bump map. I actually took time to engrave that.

well... I hope to be finished within the next 2 or 3 days... with Xmas just around the corner I'm not sure how much time i can spend on post and rendering... Speaking of rendering, does anyone have any suggestions? While doing a test render, i noticed some plack artifacts around the particle systems, but I kind of want to keep it well lit and cheery... is there even a way to keep it close to the workspace render... given time constraints I may only have one shot at it. I'm posting some screen shots without facial expressions or secondary movements (also without hair or particle systems). (See images below)
