beastboy is a character from "teen titans", a show one of my friends used to watch. here I am so far...as you can see in the roto, there are black stripes on his torso, however, the mesh does not lend itself to that...any suggestions besides redoing the torso? thanks -m. trower

Well I completely finished my character, (I know it took long enough) but here is a test animation of my characters eyes, I've made him come alive with blinking power! Enjoy. Well now how come I cant attach the avi file? Its less than 1 meg. Hmm I guess i'll just give you the rar file. Blink_Test.rar

Alright..practicing some Mr. Ball stuff..he walks up the step..I was thinking of having him jump off after this, but that's unoriginal...I want something original (not falling back down the stairs, either). Maybe I'll stick w/ him jumping off. I'll aslo fix the seaping later..I just want the real basic concept of action then touch up later walkingup.mov mp4 version: walkingupjamaciga.mp4

Hey gang, Thought I'd post this quick little job I did for the San Diego Future's Foundation upcoming fundraiser. The theme for the evening will be casino themed/Monte Carlo style. The money donated/raised goes to support the Futures Foundation, which takes old computers from corporations, refreshes them, installs new drives, OS, etc. then gives them to schools and families who can't afford computers. This image will be on their invitations. Greg

Hi folks, here is a quick render of the cow model available for download... hosted by Ken Heslip. The post is in the main AM forum. The cow is constrained and ready to go with a walk cycle and a set up in a choreography. I used the set up machine 1 to rig it and added intermediates and fans and smartskin etc. Im not the best rigger around but if any of you Rig masters has the time to improve on it or re-rig it, I would love to see the results if you re-post the improved and updated model for folks to download again. Cheers AndyG

Going back to basics and completed the giraffe. Glad to see that my mechanical modeling on the sub has paid some dividends. The giraffe was fast and easy compared to the Nautilus. Only problem, though, is that the giraffe decal is distorting in every 5 point patch. What is the remedy? The tut includes the 5 point patches also, but gives no advice on the distortions.

I just posted a trailer for my recently completed short "Skeeters". You'll find it at my site http://fleebagstudios.com. The cool thing is the film itself is showing Labor Day weekend at the North American Science Fiction and Fantasy Film Festival in Seattle(http://www.cascadiacon.org/Film%20Festival.htm). Show times are Friday, September 1, 11 AM; Saturday, September 2, 4 PM; and Monday, September 5, 10 AM. I will present my film at the Saturday showing. And of course Skeeters was made using A:M! Enjoy.

Howdy all. Just doing a little exercise in a run to test out TSM2. This was done straight-ahead in choreography, not in a cycled action with stride length, which is different than how I usually work. Enjoy. Comments and crits welcome, as always, the tougher the better. 3 seconds, 120K or so, Sorenson 3 .mov. runalien_sor3.mov

Hey guys (and gals), I've been working hard at the grindstone modeling an NYPD Impala that transforms into voila, a Transformer. Convenient eh? I've been working hard to make sure it somewhat resembles an impala. The headlights and grill look a little funky, and every time I attempt to shrink it or adjust it, it only affects the hood and creates funky bends. Anyway, I'm building the internal gadgets as we speak, and expect to have a fully functioning knee joint by tomorrow. I only wish to have everything in one model so I can animate it without any unnecessary trickery. Sorry if the image quality is a bit crappy, I'm becoming impatient with the rendering time…

Hey guys a few weeks ago I was going on and on with posts when I finished my model. More fun to animate than to set up! Anyhows, this is one of the same vids, but from the back side... I was messing with trying blur settings out... I set the multi pass to 5 and then blurred it in a QuickTime export. http://www.vrcops.com/vids/BackR2PB.mov Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com

Hello, ladies and gents: Just a quick heads-up to point out that my famous one-minute epic, <ESC>, will be shown tonight on the G4 cable channel, as part of the animation program "Happy Tree Friends and Friends." Previous episodes have included Petey and Jaydee shorts, so I'm pretty amazed to be in such company. It shows at 12 AM Eastern, 9 PM Pacific, with a bunch of repeats later. Also, this showing will include the World Premiere™ of my logo for my new website. Five seconds of glorious narcissism! If you can, please catch it; if not, well, don't feel bad, because I'll probably be too tired to see it myself anyway.

Hi all: I finally got around to compressing the final version of Soap Opera. For those who don't know, it's a five-minute slice of Mozart's Don Giovanni performed by the denizens of a bathroom. "You'll never look at Pert Plus the same way again!" This version premiered at the D.C. Shorts Festival in September 2005. (I think, technically, it was first shown at the Hash SIGGRAPH party, but I won't tell D.C. Shorts if you don't.) Its next appearance will be at the Cleveland Film Festival this March. I wrote and animated it, Jeff Lee produced the music, and we both modeled it. Special thanks to David Rogers for an exhaustive lighting critique (which I trie…

I've discovered a strange thing when using 5X multi-pass rendering with skylights in v12.0n+. As shown in the attached image I have two spheres in front of a flat shaded skydome. The first sphere has a diffuse colour of 128, 128 128 while the second is 255, 255, 255. The first pair of images shows a comparison of lighting the spheres with a single klieg and rendering an image with and without multi pass. As expected, no noticeable difference. However in the next image set, I turn off the klieg and turn on my 52 bulb skylights (a variation on one of Yves' setups). The first image shows the render with no multi-pass. The next five images are images after turn…

I am experiencing unexpected results from my fire emitter. It appears as if their is a force in the "Z" direction, when in fact their is none defined in the chor. Below are views of what is happening. As you can see, the flames don't just float up, the also float towards the +z direction as well. I include my project file. Can anybody explain to me what is going on and how to fix it? I can't figure it out. I am using v12.0s for Windows with this one. In the project, Chor1 has a force in it, a cyclinder shape, but it shouldn't be affecting anything on the troll. Chor2 is a copy of chor1, without the force in it. Problems occur in both chors. Screen…

Hello! I haven't posted in a long time...but I thought that my friends at Hash would like to see some old stuff that I recently revamped. The first you may remember from a while ago, but I recently went crazy in Photoshop and I think it turned out really well. The second is a newer one that I think turned out really well. The figure was done in A:M and then put onto the Photoshoped clouds. Tell me what you think![attachmentid=14353][attachmentid=14354]

After I posted the two troopers and the tank, I was very pleased at how many people remembered Vaughn Bode'. As I've been working at getting the troops to walk [it's actually going rather well] I've had Bode' on my mind, and so, started digging out all the old comics from the vault. Here's a shot at Bode's star character: CHEECH WIZARD.[attachmentid=14551]

Those of you who are familiar with my work know I'm not a render monkey--I love beautiful images as much as anybody, but I'm too impatient to wait for them (or to learn enough about lighting to make them). However, my recent Olympic vodcast got such a good response I decided to re-render the last shot, where Shaggy falls into an iced-over swimming pool. I used Image-Based Lighting for the general outdoor look, and decided to try soft reflections on the ice and see if it would look any good. Hot DAMN! This is with only 10% sampling on the soft reflections, and 9-pass multipass. It really looks like ice, doesn't it? (Of course, at eighteen minutes per fram…

Hello Been such a LONG time since I've had time to work in 3d and post here..but here I go again. I've put a hold on my bunny character (snowball, dont know if you remember her) and began this new character for a small client. Instead of my normal 2D work I've been asked to create a nice little mascot for a logo in 3d for possible animated introduction and stills. This is my progression so far after about 2 -3 hours work. I'd love to hear some critiques in terms of my spline placement or anything else... The character is to be a stylized mouse, slightly cartoonish, and realistic blend. I plan on adding fur to him later. Thanks

I have learned a lot and I have almost memorized the keyboard shorcuts and it really has made my workflow really fly. I feel proud of myself, and now I would show off a work that just sparked an idea in my head. Voila! A light*cough*saber*cough*..blade..excuse me, had something in my throat. [attachmentid=15843]
