Master Chief

I've been wanting to model master chief for a while now, even though I dont have either of the games, and have finaly found the time to start. I used a free master chief model from turbo squid, ripped directly from the game, and imported it for refrence. Since 3ds's dont import verry well, it wasn't much help. So far I've finished the helmet only. Wireframes: With better lighting: Next i'm going to work on the body! -Dude

hbee.mov Made a simple bee model and rendered it with alpha channel and a bit too much motion blur, as a series of tgas, as the bee followed a simple path Used images for hair material on small model and got what you see above Wing movement with simple expression on each wing bone I'll post the project after I try a few more things

Four legged critters are very hard to rig, even harder to animate. I've always been a fan of The Last Unicorn so I decided to model and rig The Red Bull. Here are my results thus far.....

Since I have been off (from work... ) this week I been pushing some ideas I've been thinking about on my commute to & from work so here is another one. I used an expression to move a series of bones on a plane to make waves. The actual expression was applied to each bone with a simple copy and paste and a tweak. It needs adjustment since it is a bit fast but I wanted to try a render. So I grabbed a boat off the cd, a darktree material, for the water, added a null following a spline on the grid, to contrain the boat's position and rendered. Its only a single multipass to speed things up ( slow computer) and a litttle jaggy but here it is wavetest.mov …

My final textured version of the steam hammer. The texturing uses standard A:M combiners, two Darktrees and more than a few Enhance A:M combiners.

Stylized Landscape, do you like it, or is it too different. I like it, but what do you guys think. I have also stylized the trees, there is a sample of one of them in the Mtn pic. I modeled a canoe in the lake one, I'm working on the charaters now. These we just tests, of the look of the landscapes. So camera angles etc. would be different with the charaters, and the lighting would foucus on the charaters more than backgrounds etc. Dwayne http://www.dwaynejensen.com

This is still a bit rough around the edges but I think the flow is just about right. So I thought I would post the opening sequence to my first ever Bella Bear short (the one that I am still working on and which I have already animated a section from the middle). Hope you lot like it, here's the link: Space Flight

Some of you might remember the thread about the German WWII battleship Bismarck I started some months ago. After I finished Bismarck I accidentally came in touch with the author of the drawings I had used as referances and rotoscopes. He was at that time working on a book of Tirpitz for the Norwegian museum of defense. All ended up with me converting the Bismarck into Tirpitz to be used as illustrations for the book:) btw if someone is interested, here is a LINK to information about the book (with som samples) Here is a few personal renders for you to inspect: The first render features both Tirpitz and Bismarck, the others are Tirpitz only Let me know wha…

Hey peeps, been working on this animation the last couple days. Just something for my demo reel. I haven't animated the second character yet, but he's going to be looking at a paper or something. Can you guess what's going to happen next? Yeah, he's gonna wipe it on the poor guy, but in a very discreet manner. Anyway, comments welcome! Enjoy! sneeze_low.mov

Introduction: I’m remaking an old Christmas video called “Twas the Night Before Christmas” that I did three years ago. As I completed scenes, I thought I would blog them here for general discussion of animated short making and have everyone critique what I am doing. I originally did this piece as a video Christmas card however in my ignorance of delivering video, most of the people I sent it to didn’t have the bandwidth or a powerful enough computer to view it. This year I will make it into a DVD and hope for a wider audience. I started about the first of July and am shooting for completion by December 19th. While I would love a lot more time, I am going to mak…

Hello peoples! I have just finished Keystones (Keystone Online Highschool Home Page) AM course. I am just waiting for my last grade. So I thought I would show you what sort of stuff this course has you go through. No videos though. Most are AVI and too big for the forum and my comp won't render MOVs. Most images are frame captures from the animation. The course has all animations on VGA format. Onward! Assignment 1: Introduction and spheres The course assumes that the student has never touched AM. I had some experience so these first couple of projects were a breeze. This one introduces the splines, texturing, scaling, and the chor window. The m…

This topic will serve as my main topic. I upload my animations to http://rl01.revver.com/account/show/UberAnimator. I will post a new reply with a link to the video in question when I have a new one up. Right now feel free to comment on all my videos I have there. This should make it a lot easier to keep track of my animations. The reason I am using revver over YouTube is because it is fast, and does both flash and our all time favorite, QUICKTIME . Looking forward to comments. New Additions: WIP#1 - Quinton Kleer On Santa | Time: 0:00 - 0:07 Quinton Kleer #1 My Animations - FIXED

Hi, my name is Jared Claybrooks, and this is my first animation project of decent quality. The subject matter is one of the boss fights from the game Earthbound. Ness, The Protagonist. Titanic Ant, The Antagonist. An image of the action. The whole animation won't be too substantial, maybe a minute and a half. I'd say that right now the project is about 60% complete, and could use some critiqueing before it's finished. thanks!

This is not the contest thread but don't miss it. Go over to The Contest Thread and Vote! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is just my almost ran image thread. Well, the pressure is off. I missed the deadline for the contest but as I had a couple of festive images on the boil I am going to post them here anyway. This image was a mock up of what I was going for with my first image. It is all A:M, (11.1 and 12), but is a composite on three layers. When I finish working on the second image I will get back to this one, finishing the sleigh, better poses for the figures, get the hair flowing and add a prope…

I am wondering how to make a camera's orientation follow the twisty curvy paths orientation like the one shown in the video, or more importantly, how to make a coaster car follow the orientation of the path. Making the camera or object follow the track is easy enough by making one of the pipes splines the path. Also, I was able to create two path constraints from the camera to the two outside rails which keeps it from moving into the mesh when the track twists and turns. I thought that would actually cause some weird circular constraint problem but it didn't. But I would like for the camera or for the coaster car to be oriented the same way as the track. In other wor…

Hi guys. Its been a while since I've showed anything in the showcase forum. These last weeks I've been working on two cars for David Dustin. They are both 1st generation Neon's. The red one is a sedan while the purple one is a coupe. The headlights are just simple textures since they are going to be used in a dark scene. Let me know what you think Best regards Stian [attachmentid=22485][attachmentid=22486] [attachmentid=22487][attachmentid=22488]

I'm pleased to announce that my short film "The Cell-Phone," winner of the first Mini-Movie contest, will receive its film festival premiere at the D.C. Shorts Festival on Thursday, September 14, 2006. This is a newly re-rendered and revised version, produced with a lot of help from A:Mers Jeff Lee, Mike Stamm, Glenn Antofer, and Rhett Jackson. In addition, my films "<ESC>" and "Soap Opera" will be showing at the first annual Idaho Panhandle International Film Festival in Sandpoint, Idaho. The festival runs from August 24-26.

Ideas came from seeing the work of many AM ers. They did provide the building blocks need to learn the mechcanics of this neet software. I am open for any and all credics

I started working on a fan film a while back using Anim8or, a free animation and modelling software program. Due to some limitations in the animation portion of the program, I purchased Animation Master to continue the project. Unfortunately, the models did not import very well into A:M, so I am starting the models from scratch. The first model is the All Terrain Armored Transport (AT-AT) Walker. I am starting with the feet and will work my way up. As I gain more experience with modelling in A:M, I will go back and tweak parts that I am not entirely satisfied with and add detail that I am not quite sure how to do yet. This is the same process I used while learni…

This is the biggest format I ever had to output from A:M for. It only needed to be 30dpi, but at 32 feet wide, I had to crank out about 30K pixels wide. That certainly had my computer begging for more (memory)! I put some pictures of the finished billboard near the top of my home page: Atkinson Productions web site
