Hey guys, I have entered Revver's next film contest, this one has the April fools theme. I started out to do a basic ball movement test, but as soon as the contest was announced I changed my whole outlook on the animation. Let me know what you guys think, thanks! Maybe I can get first this time around? April Fools - Flash April Fools - Quicktime

I have been wanting to do an engine in too much detail for a while now, and there was a tossup between radial, rotary (not Wankel), or steam. and radial won out. I fear the patch count will make using it for an aircraft unlikely, barring an upgrade in my video card. I tried using a displacement maps for the fins but the render times went from the current less than 1s to close to around twenty seconds. So far I am mostly done with one cylinder, it still needs spark plugs, and I might want to add an emitter plate for the exhaust.

Hey...just something I thrutogether yesterday for a DVD menu. Reminds me of the old joke..."I spent a WEEK in Detroit one day..." Try not to get mugged while watching this... Of interesting note...other than the Renaissance Center and one or two other building, the whole city is a copy-paste of one model...the 'Ambassador Bridge' is a model I had lying around, as are all the vehicles and other props. I am re-rendering right now to slow it down from 6 sec to 8 sec...plus I populated it a bit more. DETROIT_ZOOM2sm.mov

Amplitude creates a action for a model with a named pose in the example here the model is model1 the pose pose1 I used the secret wave file on the cd and it generated the action used here. The pose was to move the "mouth" of my elaborate model. I rendered a portion to show the results. If you have a model1 with a pose1 the action will drive the model to sync with the secret wave. [attachmentid=11827] [attachmentid=11828] Not sure is amplitude is still available was on amxchange which appears closed http://www.amxchange.com/ secret.zip secret.mov

Animation done for the RevveR Film School topic "Green". After over 61 hours, 4 minutes, and 37 seconds of rendering, the render was corrupted... So I re rendered on my main PC, taking 11 hours, 40 minutes, and 19 seconds. So total render time was 62 hours, 44 minutes, 56 seconds. Animation time was from RFS announcement of topic "Green" until February 18th on and off. Thanks, rate high folks and remember to share this video with your friends. I'm working on some 3d female templates, I've been working on it off an on for a while but I'm still not happy with what i have (still much better than what I had before) I'd appreciate it if i got some suggestions as to what to do with the model http://emar0.angeltowns.com/misc/femaleNX53.mdl the hips or the thighs here seem to be too large for the torso, I'm afraid of trying to warp or distort the proportions of the model. I fear if i tried to do that I would end up destroying it in some other way the breasts are curving downwards like this when they should be curving upwards like this and the feet look really really wierd m…

I have attached a file of a short scene rendered in 'Final' output. The 'shag emitter' used to simulate grass displays unwanted changes in the background during the animation (beginning on 2nd frame, and then again at about 2 1/2 seconds in). This anamoly does not appear when rendering in 'shaded' mode. Could the problem be that 'dynamics' is defaulted to "on" in the 'shag emitter'? I'd like some advice before rendering again - this 3 second shot took 17 hours to render at HDTV 1080 resolution. Which brings me to my next question. What is the recommended rendering resolution to bring my targa files into Adobe Premiere 2 for compiling. My intended output will be DVD…

Ok, so... Humans aren't my modeling forte. Actually, modelling isn't my forte period. But, I have a character, and I know his personality quite well, so the trick is getting him on screen. His name is Peanut Butter. Don't knock it, my little bro named him. He IS modelled after a real teddy bear we have (hence, the personality). This is my first real model, and he needs a bit of work still. (With school and TWO, I haven't had a lot of time to spend on him.) Take a look and tell me what you think. The biggest thing that I've had to fight with is hair. Too much hair, and it won't render (and takes forever to render). Too little, and it doesn't look right. …

While taking a quick break from TWO animating, I stumbled upon this technique. It may have been done before, but I think it looks pretty cool. I'd like to get it abit more "impressionist" looking, but can't figure it out in the render settings. See what you think! The mov file is based on this image: castle.mov

Hey there - long time no type Finally received some decent time to do my own work again and fired up A:M This is loosley based off of a character I painted some time ago. Although it is stylized I'd still like to have some feedback on my spline flow especially for the head. I think I may have too many splines? I'd like to smooth it out more and of course she will have some here and there tweaks before I add her hair and attire. Comments most welcome Thanks

I have a client who insists that I use his obj model for a project and basically what the best approach is, is to model over the obj file using splines. I imported the OBJ file into AM as a prop using Arthur's plugin. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to bring a hash model into an imported obj window or bring the obj file into a hash modeling window? Thanks for any information. Tom

I am new to the animation world and have been toying with the program and have the hang of the basics. I am working for a nonprofit organization on a project and we have a need for some models. I feel I can do the basic animation necessary for the project but cannot create the models needed. Basically, what we need is a model of a fishing rod and reel, an archery bow, and a gun. What we would like is to make these models into cartoon-like animated characters. What I am inquiring about is if there is someone who would be willing to create these character models for us. I can provide the pictures of the objects we want to use. If you would be interested, please …

Hey Everybody ... I have been working on a short animation called "Little Ditty". It's about three mice that play in a jazz band. I'm still tweaking a few things and will hopefully have the completed animation ready within a week or two. But until then, I hope that you will enjoy a couple of stills from the movie. Thanks for taking a look ... Bruce (the wedgeeguy)

I created some images for the local residents group to show the effect of widening a road and adding parking on the roadside. I've only had time to build one car, a basic Audi which uses a colour map for most of the detail, but I widened the road in a paint program and then used a camera rotoscope with the ground set to front projection. I might build some more cars, they're always useful for bg / architectural work, but the image is for a meeting tomorrow and will probably never be seen again.

I found a good ball bounce tutorial, followed it, and learned a lot more then I expected. I am beginning to break some bad habits, blocking out the animation ahead of time, and manipulating timeline splines. One thing I have noticed, A:M doesn't have spline manipulator handles, how can I get these? Without them spline in the timeline is cumbersome. I know it must be something I have missed. Anyways, here is the ball bounce test. Ball Bounce Tests.mov (Under 1MB)

Meet Jedi Dex. He is the second character in my Star Wars Fan Film. The first character is the AT-AT. I recreated the body from a Jedi model that was originally downloaded from Sci-Fi 3D, then converted to an Anim8or file. The face and head come from the Dex A:M model. There are still a lot of things that need to be done to Jedi Dex, like fixing a lot of bumps, creases and proportions, texturing and rigging him. The colors you currently see were used to differentiate a lot of the different groups in the model. I did play around with texturing his vest though. C&C always welcome... Funny story behind this. So I am taking a 3D Animation course at the college I am going to, and the program we are using is Cinema 4D. We are doing a bouncing ball project, and I decided to do it in the program I am familiar with as well as C4D. I will compare the two when I am done and upload a comparison video if I see fit. You can also see the animation in Flash format BallBounce.mov - Quicktime BallBounce on Revver - Flash

Ok, so I was playing around with hair yesterday, and I messed up the order of my transparencies, which sparked an idea... Fiber optic hair! Simple, make most the hair transparent, and solid at the tip. Throw in some glow, and viola! I tried it, and my mouth dropped! (What I can use it for, I haven't got a heck of a clue. ) It's probably already been done, but I thought I had to share.

As I said above: this is old news, hovewer I feel that some critiwue would be helpful (even negative critique) I have been very busy lately, so my animation which should include those two characters is in (God knows for how long) hiatus. So, I have decided to share those two with the community under condition that they would be not used for commercial purposes and that my name should be mentioned where ever they appear (more in the readme file). I will sent them as soon as I get confirmation that it is ok to post the textures (road and grass - which I have downloaded form David Gurrea's site (http://www.davegh.com/blade/davegh.htm). If that is not possibl…

Hi all, I've been working on some 3D fan art for Sadness, an upcoming game for the Wii, while waiting for the game's release. My design of Maria's face is loosely based on official game concept art and the face of the girl in live action trailer plus my own ideas. I just started yesterday. After a few hours, I had this: Today, I tweaked the SSS and added some detail to the eyes: Feel free to post your thoughts or comments. Next up: hair. take care, Tai
