I have attempted to model a real person. You can see the head only on the first .MOV and then the same model with a torso, etc. in the second .MOV. I modeled the head, hair, and props, and borrowed liberally for the torso from a model called Marie Claire/Sister M that was donated by Klaus-Uwe Schomann. Thanks Klaus. I was not concerned with realism at this stage. I just want to see if the person is recognizable before I go in and clean up the modeling and decals. Does anyone know who it is? I really compressed the size of the video, so I hope it is good enough. F2_2.mov F1_2.mov

My film begins in an attic full of childhood memories. This still shows that it's twilight, and the character has just turned the light on, but she's off-screen still. I may put something outside the window, so far it's just a night-sky-fading sunset gradient. There are also some models here that I could post to the forum, most of them "work" (the rocking horse, scooter, the russian doll opens and the tin toy bear marches around and bangs a drum. The books also all have working pages) The dresser doesn't open though. Ignore the fact that the streamers on the scooter go straight out. I haven't simulated yet. This is just the "set dressing view so far." Seana

Hey guys, been a looooooong time since I've posted anything. I started building this Audi model a few weeks ago. I've been taking my time with it... a little here, a little there... and wanted to see if I still "had it" when it comes to making models in A:M... turns out its just like riding a bike! I will post as I go. thanks for taking a look! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com

My son and I were out driving last weekend, and we saw an Audi R8. It is a very sporty looking little car and thought I would try modelling it. I have been so busy with renovations and work, I haven't had time for anything else, and thought this would be good to keep me from getting too rusty. It is coming up to year end at work, and things are going to be crazy until after tax time next year (I support the Payroll Department for the City of London). The other projects I had on the go, will have to wait until I can dedicate more time to them. Anyway, here is the start of the Audi R8. As always, C&C always welcome... Al

Hi guys, just wanted to show you a little bit of my latest A:M work... I started to model a audio-interface based on my new Roland VS-100. Most of the work was to create the texture for it. Comments are of course welcome . See you *Fuchur* PS: I although attached an image with the wireframe overlayed. As you can see, the geometry is really quite simple.

This isn't quite what Rusty is looking for in his other thread but I'll show it none-the-less... a fly-over of the Aurora curtain effect. Basically two gradient combiners are used to fade out the top and bottom and in the middle is a turbulence combiner, stretched vertically and animated in the chor to move through the mesh of the curtain to give it the undulating look. AuroraE000.mov PRJ done in v17 but it will work in earlier versions Aurora06_animated_flyby.prj

Hi! I finally managed to get settled in with my classes ! So I know have enough time to start a new project! I plan to make a fall scene and maybe transition it over to a Halloween scene.... Here is what I got so far, it is very rough needs some work: The grass needs to be thicker and better distributed and the pumpkin looks a bit uniform. Also the lighting isnt final, its just a single sun-light. C&C Welcome Photoman

Hi my friends I have been working on Atmel's AVR robots in 3D. Atmel is a developer and manufacturer of microcontrollers, advanced logic, NVRAM and RF Components. I was going to wait 'til this was up on AMFilms, but I have a feeling it may be a while until it's updated, so... May I proudly present: Soap Opera (11 MB, 5:28, On2 + QDesign codecs) All the animation is mine. All the music is Jeff "Godfrey" Lee's (well, with some help from Mozart). The modeling and texturing is a collaboration between myself and Jeff, as is the, ahem, singing. The full details are in the credits reel at the end; it was originally going to be anonymous for the contest. Special thanks due to the folks at MAAM who saw an early version and provided much-needed encouragement. I'm very proud of this, but comments and criticism ar…

http://www.museoffire.com/Nosferatu/ Why he didn't post this yet is unknown but searching around I found this animation. The artist's first animation is on AM films, but this one is a mind boggling 30 minutes long. WOW!!! We need more of him around. Great work and I enjoyed it!!! I want to see more of your work 30 minutes. Who said a film should take 20 years and never get done. He proved that theory wrong. Great job to whoemever made this animation

Been hard to decide what to work on for the Fall 2020 Image contest! But think I'm settled on this awkward guy. He is something I sketched up a number of years ago. Every so often when I rifle through my hard drive he resurfaces and I think it will be cool to make him in 3d, but then get busy with something else and he gets shelved..... again. So anyway... here goes the more serious attempt to bring him to life.

I could not find any rotos of any dragons so I'm using an Image as an inspirational reference Do this headshape work? is it to wide? missing something? After watching it a few times I find the snout a bit long, agree? So any crit and tips is highly appreciated -Stian-

there will always be something else to tweak or change slightly but I think I've done most of the major modelling/surfacing stuff. Small stuff left to do - "dirty-smudges" on finger & toenails & teeth. Wrinkles on top of fingers & thumb But basically he's done. I'll now have a go in version 11 but I will do a different character instead.

Had to make this for a job I'm working on, photography of the object didn't give me the flexibility of composing it over other photos and renders so now I atleast have an alpha to use to make the shots go easier textures were done in paintshop pro and the model was done mostly with decals and the frame painted in 3d paint.

Finished this up a couple days ago. It's basically a ninja egg dodging a bullet with a backflip. I really wanted to just play around with bullet time and slo-mo. And it was pretty simple character to model and rig. Works pretty good as far as animating goes too. Anyway, just a little contibution to the community. Enjoy. Egg.wmv

Well, it works! Is it just me or does this look like a good ole bag o' goop? Still needs tweaking for its final use of course... I like it! I used a boolean... here is the set up.. Plastic bag mesh. Duplicate bag mesh slightly smaller (bag is transparent... need some air between goop and bag to avoid the transparency artifacts when surfaces are too close. Also avoids accidental pass through of the goop outside of the bag). A box like mesh above the goop shape. Assign box shape to boolean bone. Assign plastic bag to a child of boolean bone so it won't get... booleaned. I then use two different groups and material settings. The boolean shape ha…

I found a good ball bounce tutorial, followed it, and learned a lot more then I expected. I am beginning to break some bad habits, blocking out the animation ahead of time, and manipulating timeline splines. One thing I have noticed, A:M doesn't have spline manipulator handles, how can I get these? Without them spline in the timeline is cumbersome. I know it must be something I have missed. Anyways, here is the ball bounce test. Ball Bounce Tests.mov (Under 1MB)

Has anyone got an idea on why my mushroom is banded like this? I have an animated decal (QT movie) as a displacement map but it hasn't got THAT much compression in it. And look at the underside of the "crown;" it's like a surface break... The surface it pretty hi-res; a 40X40 patch grid rolled into a tube. I'm working of this tutorial and Weevil doesn't run into any of this... hash.com/users/weevil/ EDIT : Part of it turned out to be a poorly-compressed transparency decal. But there's still more going on in this image. ANy ideas? Rhett

A quick experiment for a tutorial i'm working on about "Texturing". A simple mesh made to look like an old fashioned barrel with just materials, no bitmap decals... How did these things not leak? I would think the quickest way to not have any rum would be to put it in a barrel made of wooden boards.
