sjDehib8YRM Here's another gem that few folks have seen. Textures in Photoshop. Composed in After Effects. Everything else created in Animation:Master. I love the style. It's a rarer but often used anime style often seen in illustrated Japanese brochures.

Congratulations to Will Sutton for stealing the show on the mascot contest. Here are/were my two additions. 1)Motormouth... this is the alternate version I debated over entering. An old character I repurposed for the contest. Used a MatCap ambient shader on the car paint which I think works pretty well. 2) Kitty Kat- this was done very quickly, and was a test using A:M Paint to control the color and length of the fur. I hope to finish her up and do some animation with it. Kitty Kat cartoon on label by Shane Glines. Both did very very poorly in the voting- but I wasn't in it to win... just happy to participate. I'd like to thank the one other person who gave…

The scene isnt complex or involve too much movement, no multiple passes, nor particles. Just an empty room with a single light source, yet I get this error 010. If its taking too much memory 2gigs, im wondering then why it only takes 3 minutes a frame to render. not sure why the program gives terms like exception error when it doesnt describe what the actual issue is.

I've spent some time getting the fourth shot of the current short animated. At the beginning I constrained the flowers o the hand of the male character and that held all the way through. I was just going through and setting the pose sliders for the facial features when I noticed that the flowers were no longer constrained to the hand. Checked the settings under properties but they hadn't changed, but the flowers were no longer in the hand. One anomaly I have noticed is that a W value seems to have crept in to the rotate properties ? Not noticed that before? X, Y, Z I now start to understand but W ? Has anyone else experienced this and, if so, how did you fix it ?…

Am I missing something? Load this PRJ, select the camera in the chor, look at its Fog Start and End distance properties... CameraFogTest.prj The Start is keyed to go from 100 to 200 to 400 cm the End is keyed to go from 1000 to 2000 to 4000 cm... the curve editor seems to show the curves right but all the camera's properties display is the initial values of 100 and 1000 they should be showing continuously updating values, right? Yes, i have "Use camera settings" checked.

Have been having a number of quirky problems recently with the display of models in the chor. This is the latest one. As you can see in the picture, the model is active in the properties section, but in the view window only the bounding box shows up, not the actual wireframe of the model. If a partial quick render is done of the same view port, the models show in the render, while still being invisible in the view !!! It only seems to happen in this chor, the 4th, the others seem ok. Is there an easy explanation I might be missing? Any help gratefully received. regards simon Ps It had seemed resolved but, still getting problems with wavy splines o…

I used a volumetric mist object the other day, and came across a lot of settings that I haven't been able to find an explanation for anywhere. Not in the tech ref, nor here in the forum. Anyone got any idea what "mistiness" does? Or "sampling rate"? Or "Height" x 2 (not the one in transform)? Help would be much appreciated :-)

Original.tiff Working on an I Mac with OSX 10.68 and V15J a problem started yesterday which has me rather perplexed. I imported a model file from the CD as reference for how to lay out the splines. Selected the group skin colour in the PWS and got the following result when I hid the non selected. Missing_splines.tiff I've tried it on my own models and its not quite as dramatic as that but it does appear to mis out cp's and splines when I copy and paste. Is this a corruption problem, would it be best to go for a fresh install or is it a known problem ? Its not one I've encountered before Any help would be greatly appreciated. regards simon

I reinstalled the 2008 rig into my model and went to test it. In the action and the chor windows, the toes go missing even though they are present in the model window. Could anyone kindly tell me what the problem may be ? regards simon Winona_A.mdl

Nostalgia time again. This is the first ever job I did with AM, and the first job I did under the auspices of Artbox, my studio. I was originally approached to do the dancing logo as cell animation, but when they told me that they wanted the Cheesecake Shop Logo and Type reproduced perfectly on each frame, I thought Animation Master. It was version 3 or 4, I had 1 Pentium 133 with a whopping 64 mb of ram and I still have nightmares about the render . But nowhere near the nightmares I would have had doing it by hand. Cheesecake Shop 1.9MB 320x240 swf file Right click and "save as"

Hi Freaks! I was wondering how you would rig this chain (see attached image). It's going to be a dancing guy so it will pretty much have to swing around his neck and things like that. Cloth? Newton? bone-chain? All ideas welcome, and thanks in advance for input!!! Elm.

I am developing some variations on a simple character and had some pose sliders set up for things like eye and mouth movements. The body was retained and a series of heads developed for the changes. Even though the original CP's have been deleted and replaced by those on the new heads, the old pose sliders remain when I try to set up the new relationships. I deleted the appropriate sections in "Relationshhips" but the sliders remain when I try to use an action to test the figure. Can this be changed or do I have to live with it ? Thanks for any help you might be able to offer. Regards simon

I'm wanting to change the color of a group on a model, in the chor. When i click on the color chip no color i set gets accepted and the RGB channels for the color do not resemble the values shown in the color picker. The red and green are actually below zero. Is there a good reason these are not corresponding to the color picker? I dimly recall seeing something like this a long time ago but don't recall if it was intended or not.

Was fooling around with my penguin model doing some test moves after working on tutorials earlier. Noticed something funny when moving the bones - there is like a ghost image of the bone in its original location. Not sure why this is happening. Maybe I need to switch to Opengl as opposed to direct3d drivers? I am running AM on the integrated GPU and not on the Quadro, so I don't think the Quadro is causing problems. Anyone have any thoughts? I've uploaded an example of what I am talking about, here and in my WIP thread. These are not extra bones, but some kind of display issue.

I've encountered this intermittently in version 8.5 and it has appeared again in this new version. I'm modeling a Nieuport 17 and the wheels have become square in modeling. It renders as a circle, but then goes back to a square. Can anyone tell me what I have done and how to undo it? thanks...

Try loading this prj in v16... cloth_tower08_taller.prj cancel out of the requests for images and models, then try to resave it under a new name. Are you able to save? It fails for me, even when the images and model are available so it's not their absence that is the problem.

As far as I can tell a sprite particle system that use an image sequence will draw all particles with same frame of the sequence at any one moment no matter how long since a particular particle was born. Is it possible to make each particle start at frame 0 upon its birth?

Here is the file i used to make my TWO-Shirts for the TWO World premiere so you can make your own too. TWOTShirtParts.pdf (this one should print as an 8.5" x 10.5" page) TWO_Shirt_Parts.tga (this one may not print at correct one-page size, needs to be printed at 240ppi) It should all fit on one 8.5x11 inch iron-on sheet Print it out, cut out the parts and arrange them as you see fit. You may delete parts if you wish. The "festival-goer" version is like this on the front: and this on the back: The "fashion version" (which i prefer, now) has just the red mechanical heart placed on the left front with no slogan, and…

Here's some strange behavior I discovered over the weekend, although it was on the Mac and I haven't tested it on the pc side as yet. With toon render on, and a hole created with a Boolean cutter, when an object is viewed through the Boolean cutter hole the object has no toon lines. It's a minor problem that I can solve at the compositing stage but I wonder if it's worth an A:M Report? On the other hand if anyone has anything to add that would clarify this that would be nice too.

Attached is 1 such issue that will be corrected in AM V17 Light_Kleig_Option_Volumetric_Brightness_.mov

I'm currently running 16.0a on my office pc and 16.0 on the Mac at home and the one difference I've noticed is that the Mac version render times run rings around the pc version. Last week I was rendering a shot from "Nightcallers" that I started at the office but it was averaging five and a half to six minutes per frame, so I cancelled it and continued on the Mac when I got home. There the very same frames were rendering at a minute and a half. So I'm left to wonder if it's the platform or some crucial difference between 16.0 and 16.0a.

Has anyone else noticed an odd habit of patches only showing their inside surfaces in Shaded Wireframe mode when trying out CP waitings in an Action Window? All is well until you start to move something. Makes it really difficult to check for correct mesh deformation and spotting any poke through if there's some underlying mesh. Doesn't always happen but it dose seem to happen a good 90% of the time for me. Using v16a and 15j+ on Mac 10.6.8, with an i7 & 8GB RAM Patches_In_Action_Windows.mp4

My first bouncing ball for classwork at Animation Mentor, 20 years ago this week. Now with sound effects! The assignment was to animate a rigid bouncing ball for at least four bounces. It was OK to have it just bounce in place. I had never really done a rigorously accurate bouncing ball before and I wanted to get this as right as I could. Looking at the time stamps of my PRJs, I see that I spent more than 30 hours on this.

Hey yall! I've had some trouble uploading images to the forum and finally got around to starting my own html page on neocities: yopachi.neocities.org they give you 1gb of free website and it's super fun to make a simple page using LLM as a helper for the code. The site is just one page for now but I'll be adding my worthy splines are as I go. I even made an animated favicon! did you know you can animate favicons?
