Mystic mist

I used a volumetric mist object the other day, and came across a lot of settings that I haven't been able to find an explanation for anywhere. Not in the tech ref, nor here in the forum. Anyone got any idea what "mistiness" does? Or "sampling rate"? Or "Height" x 2 (not the one in transform)? Help would be much appreciated :-)

When I've run out of info I start testing things.

 

Set up the same object three times with only one parameter changed and observe what happens.

 

 

 

 

And then when you find out tell holmes so he can put it in his wiki.

Mistiness is sort of like the density of the volumetric I do believe. A higher mistiness makes it a thick fog while a lower setting just a light whisp of cloud. Least I'm pretty sure that's what it does, I played with it a year ago for Earth Link and I'm pretty sure that's how it worked
