Whipped this up after re-reading (for the like millionth time) the short story Nightfall. I also have another piece in mind that's considerably more intensive and it would be when Nightfall is actually occurring and I'm thinking of having Theremon looking out from the observatory with the other scientists at the city burning in the horizon and the mob or something coming to attack

I've never used a cookie-cut map before. But I need to use one on a model I'm making. This model has a whole bunch of these gears on it. With the gears, the model has an insane amount of patches. (15647 to be exact ) However, if I remove the gears, it is only 5567. So you can see why I have to do something else. My computer would burst into flames trying to render it in a scene. So, is there any pointers on cookie-cuts?

Hey, Been a while. Wanted to post a scene ive started workin on again. It's supposed to be a Greek/Roman style hall. The orange lights coming out of those bowl on pedestals are supposed to be torches, just no fire yet. If anyone has suggestions or comments, please feel free to leave them. Ideas for improvement would be nice too, I'm kind of stuck lol

Answers in Genesis saw my work on current and previous Year in Review productions for my church and they asked me to make a short video for them. The video is 8 minutes and starts with this animation, which is mostly camera animations of the previously created 3Dized logo. View it on my animations page (2.1 MB QuickTime).

Here is a test still of an animation I'm planning to do of my Hunley sub in a murky underwater scene, I want to eventually add particles in the water and not sure what approch I will take in doing it....any suggestions are welcome, But most fo all..does it look like an underwater view in murky waters? Hello everyone. I am starting to get into the more complex aspects of A:M, but I'm still back here in version 12 and all my books are back west, 2,088 miles away. If anyone can help me with how you'd do this, roughly, that'd be great. I was playing with mist and steam volumetrics but nothing seemed to be doing what I want. Here is what I'm after. It's a dark, misty morning with the sun rising over the mountains. As the sun rises, so does a ground mist. It starts whispy and turbulant and soon it obscures the scene and then blows away. This will reveal my logo and will be used on videos and presentations that I do. Thanks in advance. -W

Ok here is a Centaur I have Frankensteined (SP?)together..the top half should look familiar ,it's Jim Talbots "Tarzan" model off the Hash CD (I think)...and the bottom half is a basic Horse model Ive been working on..I also used this horse model to model a Pegasus, Unicorn and a Centaursus (cross breed..LOL) and of course its used as simple horse model too. No I am Not intering it into the TSM2 contest (can't claim its mine) ,just wanted to show it Mike

OBJ.zip Correction:This only seems to work as stated, with "Poser" obj files. And after some fiddling, its actually more the same as with the 3ds/lwo problems - too much splinage to even mess with? I havent tried Exporting yet into LW or Poser. So Ill report back on export exploits? I did find some talk on the OBJ side of AM - http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=24581 Ok. Sooo... It's been a looong time since I posted a WIP here, so here goes: I've been working on theese two logos the last week. One is for a CounterStrike(a PC game) MOVIE and one is for a CounterStrike CLAN. And since I'm such a nice guy, I don't charge a buck (ok so maybe that has something to do with my current insufficiant amount of skill with A:M, but I like the "nice guy"-stuff better). I've got everything in place except the fingers. When I started opening the hidden bones, I discover that there's a single bone labeled "Right Thumb", but below that there are additional bones for each joint. What do I do? Do I put the "Right Thumb" bone in place, and layer the other three joints over it? Or...

Haven't posted a new project in a long time. This is what I am currently working on. It is a scale layout of one of the workcenters where I work. I made some significant layout changes in this area about 4 months ago and I wanted to be able to demonstrate the differences. Taking pictures was not doing the trick. This is the new layout. All of the components are the same for the old layout it was just different. A couple of notes: Nothing is bevelled. I do not intend to get much closer than what is shown in this shot so I didn't want to waste the time modelling and subsequently rendering bevelled parts. I just re-opened the .prj doc. for the Albatros fighter and the DH-2, only to find massive decal loss on both. The textures are present in the PWS. Their icons are showing in each entry in the decals folder. Where do they go? Is there a way to stop it?

I have modeled a tower and would like to "place" it in my back yard. Howver, I am still VERY new and as so my tower placement doesn't look as real as I'd like. Does anyone have any ideas about what I can do to make it look more realistic? I know I have to add a shadow and light and stuff. However, I havn't done any lighting tuts yet, and for the shadowing, I think I have to model a floor, which I'm not sure about either. Any help, (or just post a link to a tut that can help) would be great.. Thanks

Was trying a few different things tonight. Photoshop and Winmorph and of course AM morphed a face and applied it as a decal then set some poses in the chor original model face belonged to eddie on the cd wanted to see how well it would work beside the fact that the decal morph has a few flaws it worked okay check it out sort of pre halloweenish decaltest.mov

Hi hashers - This character was created for fun.......Over at #hash3d on irc we have alot of fun and we learn alot....I always bug Parlo aka (Sam Buntrock) about being a pimp since he's so good with the ladies ... So I created this fish just to tease him....
