Animation:Master Technical Reference V11 I was looking for the latest "HOW TO BOOKS" out there and this one above appears to be the latest. I was wondering if it is elegant enough to guide one for a WIP project ? Also how many copies did the author sell? --- that would some what imply if it is widely acclaimed and adored or not?

I was going to wait 'til this was up on AMFilms, but I have a feeling it may be a while until it's updated, so... May I proudly present: Soap Opera (11 MB, 5:28, On2 + QDesign codecs) All the animation is mine. All the music is Jeff "Godfrey" Lee's (well, with some help from Mozart). The modeling and texturing is a collaboration between myself and Jeff, as is the, ahem, singing. The full details are in the credits reel at the end; it was originally going to be anonymous for the contest. Special thanks due to the folks at MAAM who saw an early version and provided much-needed encouragement. I'm very proud of this, but comments and criticism ar…

I tried to render this but the drop doesn't show up. It shows the drop on front view but not in camera view or render view. I put another drop in, and it showed up from camera and render view. Here are the two movies. First, an animation from the front view= RealTimeWaterDrop.mov

Sure enough, Answers in Genesis like Review 2004, which I produced for them, so much that they have asked me again to produce a video for Creation Museum. My first step was to 3Dize the Creation Museum logo. I have a couple ideas for a nice animation sequence but I'm curious if anyone else has some input.

Hello, Here is an update of my 'Mumby" guy. Again this guy is simple a model for me to work on rigging with TSM2 and begin animation practice, so I'm not concerned about getting him perfect. Is there any way I can smooth him up a bit without tweaking splines? Also, with the rounded parts (front of feet, front of nose) I've got these funky triangles where it closes. Will it render like that, can I fix it some way? Also, does anyone know of a tutorial where I can make the surface look like plastic, or clay, or cartoonish in some manner? Something simple perhaps...

Hey all, just wanted to share this guy with everyone. His name is Dudley (everyone says, "Hi Dudley"). Anyway, he's a character that I created because I was inspired by some drawings that my 2 daughters did on their Magnadoodles (ages 2 and 4). Hope you like him, and feedback is definitely welcome! Cheers, Noah

Hi, this is kind of a repost because I finished "version 1" of this guy, and plus I uploaded the wrong movie before. Anyway here he is, the first thing I've made in A:M. Thanks to jamagica for the quick little eye tutorial, even going through that taught me a lot. My goal in having this guy is not so much to make him the perfect model, but to have something of my own to learn to animate with. I've learned a TON in just building this one character (many thanks to everyone BTW). There are certainly some rough areas - the feet for sure and parts of the legs. The eyes need some kind of brow or eyebrows. I think I'm going to add "floating" eyebrows - what do y…

Alright! AM Films is up and running now so I could submit it. I'm excited, my first 'short' on AM Films. It was fun to make, took a loong while, but fun nevertheless, I'm glad with the way it turned out . You can find it here Any comments or possible critiques would avsolutely be great to hear. It would be super cool to hear what you guys had to say. Thanks! And hope you like it! -Robert Lazzarini

Now when the Image Contest is finished I'd like to congratulate Colin, Noah, John and Mike. Very good work, indeed! To learn more, I also like everyone to tell me what's good and what's not so good with my entry. Don't be shy. I'd really like to improve the image and I think my ego can handle almost anything I'm interested in critique on everything: Lighting Composition Modelling (The full detailed engine took too long to render so I exchanged it with a proxy that has some issues that I'm aware of) The sky The ocean "Topic relevance" ... I'd really appreciate it if you gave it some time Thanks, /Anders

I just made another model for fun and am having a problem with heirchy (or however you spell it) The pics are posted below of the bone's points and the actual PWS display....My problem is I want to create a bone that makes both the eye and the thigh move forward, the the end point is facing down, so how would I do this? I know what you're thinking. Use fall off..for some reason, even if I hide everything but the eye, the fall off still effects the leg a bit..So, in conclusion, I want the "thigh" bone to control the eye and the thigh, along with the eye control the eye, lol EDIT: The leg isn't connected to the eye, just so you know

Here are three large stills of a railroad bridge I'm building. railroad bridge WIP The fourth image is the magazine photo that inspired me. It's reinforced, poured concrete and I'm going for a look of being in service for about 50 years; used but not abused and rust coloured like in the photograph. It's over 600 ft. (190 m) long. You can get a sense of it's scale by comparing it to the red-checkered reference cylinders which are 6 ft. (1.8 m) tall. I've been working on these textures for some time and I'm beginning to lose perspective. I've started applying the decals to one end of the bridge and I'm asking for opinions before I continue. I'm sat…

Hi, friends and enemas: Let me direct your attention to Door Number 3, where we find: Oscar vs. FBI Warning This is a piece I did as an intro for a client's demo reel a few months ago. Jeff Lee modeled the text and logo for me and the client provided the character, the "story," and a time limit of ten seconds which was promptly shattered. And don't tell anyone, but this is the first time I ever got paid to animate anything. What madness! Getting paid to do something this fun! Anyway, hope it brings a tiny smile to your eye, or possibly a tear to your lips...
