Hi, I assembled all the footage (you know what I mean) done for the Spiral Slayer Book Trailer--mostly screen or concept tests--and put all three musical scores behind it. Also added credits--the 5 or 6 Hash artists who helped with the designs, modeling, texturing, etc. In truth it's long and boring, LOL, but perhaps not so much to other Hash animators. Its here! Remember, play it full screen and have your sound on. Also, very few scenes are finished product and no story is really told. Cheers, Rusty

Hi, I'm working on the Temple of Zeus in Olympia, Greece. The following pictures are from the West Pediment. I think I need some help with the lighting. It's supposed to be fairly realistic but I'm not sure what else to do to it. Not all the figures you see have been textured yet. I'm working on that too. Suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks.

Hello everyone, This is a currently environment study. The idea was to create a fairly simple image with simple shapes and textures, and then to attempt to light it as realisticly as possible. I know I've still got a lot left to do, but I would love to hear any comments/suggestions. ~Danno

This is approximately half of the music video that was made as comment on political process and ability of members of the parliament of my country... http://trajcedrv.mylivepage.com/file/?fileid=493 (You'll probably need to copy link and paste it in your browser to be able to download it) Unfortunately I didn't made it on time for the elections this year, and you'll probably miss the whole message... so what... I hope that you'll like the music (My wife Marina composed it) and if you really, really want to know, I'll post rough English translation. (Words by my Brother, John) I wasn't going for perfect animation (I tried to be as fast as possible), bu…

What happens in this film happend to me a few days ago, I add some things, but mostly it is true. I like the way it is turning out, 47 seconds and 12 MB, sorry I no longer have DivX so I can't encode them anymore . Enjoy. { PROJECT FINISHED DELET THIS POST } it is also available at my site, http://www.psyog.cjb.net wich I will be updating severly for the next few days, it is in the movies section. I must love robots. Well, yeah, I do, I do love robots. and comics... so, now I'm working on bringing Ashley Wood's Popbot to 3D life. Popbot is a character from the IDW comic by the same name. Still working on the IK and materials (hmm, the OSX version doesn't do weathering right) but it's to a point I'd like to share: my version: Ashleys version: Let me know what you think so far! - patrick j. clarke

Just had to rerender an old title as a favour for a friend, so I thought I'd post it here as well. From memory this was my first commercial test of Skycast. The cockatoo and plane are a long-standing combination, the line artwork is the RFDS' original design. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to animate the cockatoo in a substantial way. The titles were donated for use in the RFDS trek documentary. For those who don't know(Probably most of you , the trek is a bunch of 30 year old cars racing around outback Australia and fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. The bird and the plane were modified from pre-existing models.

Lately I'm getting a lot of garbage with Alpha's and Bump Maps. The artwork is clean. Regular decals go on as they should. Any thoughts? [the Albatros is an Alpha Channel, "iClapper" is a Bump.]

I've got a simple scene with a central object receiving reflections from a dome that has an HDRI image applied via a projection map. It renders very nicely, but I want to use an alpha channel to composite the object into another scene without the dome background. I tried tga output with the alpha channel enabled, but the resultant alpha is the whole tga, not just the central object. What am I missing here?

I was messing around with radiosity again, and then ended up building the Programmer's Passage from the Matrix. Years ago I had built it once before (lost in the great computer crash of '04 of course), but without radiosity, the scene never looked right. Anyways, here's the render and project file if anyone wants to take a look at it. Matrix_Hallway.zip

Hello, I started a short film project called Gravity as a new years resolution back in January. I am now continuing the project in Hash from where I left off. I have a storyboard, a story reel, a character design, the actual character model, and the antagonist flying saucer. Neither the model nor the saucer have been converted yet, but I'm going to show them anyway. I'm still very new to Hash, so your crits will be very much appreciated.

Greetings all. Well new question. I have a model (space station) 2 ships approach and go inside. It renders a 3 sec clip in say 45 min. Then I created a second chor. and placed the camera inside the station to view them as the ships come inside. Wants to render in like 10 hours?????? so took the original chor. and placed the camera inside and tried again, still wants to render the final 25 frames in like 5 hours. The station has a decal on it and is smaller in the original chor. but when inside the station the decal is huge. Would that have a difference on the render time? I just don't understand why the inside shot takes longer to render than the out…

I am trying to re-rig a character, and for the first time, [when making an Action] I find bones that will not rotate, or will rotate on only one axis. For example. In this instance, the arm on the right side of the pic. will move only fore and aft on the Y-axis. I can't move it up or down. On the other side, I can get the base of the thumb to move, but the two other digits won't. I can't even get the "rotate" symbol to show when I move the cursor over the bone. I have the bones 'locked' since I rarely use IK. I've tried IK both ON and OFF. I've unlocked the bones, but instead of moving in the screen plane, the arm section twists and spins around. There are many instances in a model, when you could simply stick one object into another to make it look like they are one. Take, for example, a wrought iron fence, or a lever sticking out of a machine. Another good example, intersecting pipes. When would you have to join the CP's and when could you get away with the cheat?

Wow, it seems a loooong time since I last posted! Here is a young girl character I've nearly finished for our pilot film - yes, it's still going ahead I've managed to get everybody together in one place to record the voice track next week (please!!) and most of the modelling is now finished. Several people want to animate on it so, hopefully, we shouldn't be too far off now MelSpin Animation (Mov)

This is a contiuation of a previous post. I would have just carried it on, but I have been unable to access it. This is the completed advert that has just gone off to the publishers. It should be in the states soon, and the UK in a few months. Everything was created in AM except the decal photo's and the text. 2480 x 3508 Larger version will be here for a few days:-Larger Version Image was rendered in three stages, the 3d world was rendered then composited onto the star background. Final adjustment in photoshop.

Thought I would do another model from 2001 - A Space Odyssey. This time, it is the Aries Lunar Lander that took Heywood Floyd from the Space Station to the moon. I've modeled it once before using a poly program. Now, I am going to do it in A:M. I think this model is going to take a while to do. Been having some problems with my health lately. Nothing too serious, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, pre-diabetic, and a bit of depression from having a cancerous mole taken off my back. For such a small mole (around 5mm), they took a pretty big chunk out of my back, ended up with a 2.5cm incision. Anyway, some of the meds are really affecting my ability to th…

Here is a screen capture of my decal when I hit recall position on the stamp under the decal heading. I've read posts that when I hit recall, the stamp is supposed to line up where I had stamped it. In this shot, they obviously don't line up, but when I render on the model, the decal is where it's supposed to be. Note: I did not create a pose when I applied the decal, I did everything in the eaction window per William Sutton. Second note: I did increase the image size in photoshop also as per William Sutton, although I don't know if that has any bearing. It also confuses me that when I increased the image size in photoshop and then imported the image into AM, on…

I am experiencing unexpected results from my fire emitter. It appears as if their is a force in the "Z" direction, when in fact their is none defined in the chor. Below are views of what is happening. As you can see, the flames don't just float up, the also float towards the +z direction as well. I include my project file. Can anybody explain to me what is going on and how to fix it? I can't figure it out. I am using v12.0s for Windows with this one. In the project, Chor1 has a force in it, a cyclinder shape, but it shouldn't be affecting anything on the troll. Chor2 is a copy of chor1, without the force in it. Problems occur in both chors.
