number Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 OK, I watched about 10 times. Fantastic! Agreed, the tracking is superb. What programs is used for that? So, what elements were modeled? The man and switch. Lamp? Quote

mike meyer Posted December 18, 2009 Author Posted December 18, 2009 OK, I watched about 10 times. Fantastic! Agreed, the tracking is superb. What programs is used for that? So, what elements were modeled? The man and switch. Lamp? We tracked the original footage with PF Hoe pro... The modeled elements are: the little guy, the switches (the one on the floor and the other one inside of the house) and the deck chair... we also modeled a 1:1 copy of the cardboard house in A:M just for the shadows... I think that's it... Thank's! Michael Quote
mike meyer Posted December 18, 2009 Author Posted December 18, 2009 Ah, I forgot to mention: the background music is played by the soulcage allstar band... Quote
zandoriastudios Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Awesome, as always! Merry Christmas! Quote
3DArtZ Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 that was great! question: why didnt you just use a 3d model of the house instead of building both a real one and a 3d one? thanks Mike Fitz Quote
animas3D Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Excellent. Most enjoyable. Love the mix. Happy Holidays! Quote
Gerry Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Wonderful and well done! I always enjoy Christmas and holiday greetings that avoid the obvious seasonal cliches. As usual, your work makes CG animation seem effortless. Happy New Year to you all! Quote

jo b. Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 that was great! question: why didnt you just use a 3d model of the house instead of building both a real one and a 3d one? thanks Mike Fitz tnx. cuz a 3d model just wouldn't have the same charme. ... and a real one is much easier and faster to bulit. the 3d one was just used for the shadows and masks, so it wasn't textured or shaded. KenH Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 A masterpiece. You even got a fly to star in the background. I guess there was someone off camera to turn on the light but how did you get the doors to open and close? Are they CG? Quote
mike meyer Posted December 20, 2009 Author Posted December 20, 2009 I guess there was someone off camera to turn on the light but how did you get the doors to open and close? Are they CG? Ha, yes, it's exactly how we did it... and yes, the doors are CG. Thank's again for the comments! Michael Quote
