poseexpress.mov Okay I thought using an expression to control a repeating action is great but how would I add a pose slider to vary that expression. I came up with simple idea in the example above I made a pose that controlled the scale of a bone not assigned any cp's I made a sine expression that scaled the y scale of the model over time but used the control bones scale value to control the effect of the expression The left model has the scaling expression effect turned down on the up cycle then set up for the down cycle The middle model has full effect of the expression for the whole cycle The last has about 30% of the expression effect for the whole c…

Is there no forum for finished works anymore? Does everything just go to A:M Stills and A:M Films now? If so, where would be the best place to post that something is finished so that folks will check it out? Here? Or are people just posting finished works in the WIP forum now? Richard

I've had a problem with the attached model for quite some time. I've "copy/flip/attached" one side of the model several times with the same result. After making sure the middle spline is zeroed on the x-axis and cleaning up the mirrored side (completing 5-point patches, etc.) I've brought the model into an action window to flatten and paint the face. After flattening, I've manipulated the cp's on one side to get the desired results, but when I "copy/paste mirrored" to the other side, only a few of the other side's cp's are affected. I've actually completed decaling the model and rigged the face only to get the same type of "copy/paste mirrored" problems in poses. The…

I found a good ball bounce tutorial, followed it, and learned a lot more then I expected. I am beginning to break some bad habits, blocking out the animation ahead of time, and manipulating timeline splines. One thing I have noticed, A:M doesn't have spline manipulator handles, how can I get these? Without them spline in the timeline is cumbersome. I know it must be something I have missed. I am new to the animation world and have been toying with the program and have the hang of the basics. I am working for a nonprofit organization on a project and we have a need for some models. I feel I can do the basic animation necessary for the project but cannot create the models needed. Basically, what we need is a model of a fishing rod and reel, an archery bow, and a gun. I have been advised to 'consolidate' a .prj with one .mdl and textures. I found it under Projects, but it's greyed out. How to turn it active? As this is a first for me, any additional tips are welcome. Thanks. ps: I've gone into 'My Controls' in an attempt to change the name above my avatar to simply KELLEY. The entry under the avatar changed, but not above. Is there a dialog box I've not found?

Hey, guys! I've been experementing with A:M for about four years now, and have finally got some models I'm happy with. Here's a still of one of my bets models. I completed the entire wireframe in one night, and spent about two weeks after that rigging it. Unfortunately, I don't have very many good pictures of him since my computer has a memory leak. It ended up deleting him after only three or four stills. Anywho, here's a cool close up and full body view. In memory of Sparky. I knew him well...

this is the second piece with my animated self-portrait. Mostly it was a test to see how easily a second mo-cap session could be dropped on the puppet. My approach tries to do all adjustment on the puppet, rather than the mo-cap data. The goal is to just drop the action on the character and be 95% done. The reality was only about 85%, but that's not bad for a first shot. I added a shrimp to the Fish Animation. [a bit hard to see in this frame, but...] It was hard to align on a Path, so I slaved it to a Null and dragged the Null across the scene. After rendering the scene out, I added six more and translated them all to the same Null. But only the first seems to want to move. For this iteration, I'll add more Nulls, but for the future, can a Null control more than one object?

http://www.gentlechifitness.com/new_page_10.htm I got word that I can disclosed this, and it was a paid assignment, yee haw! I hope to animate this someday. I have kind of been animating this on the side to make sure it works. This was kind of a fun character to make. Its a compound bow, a fishing rod, and a shotgun. What thought went into how to make a inanimate object to life? It was a task and challenge that I love doing. I wasn't expected to even discern the sex of the object?

I rigged a simple mechanical model to rotate two arms. This model will be multiplied in an action 10x. Is there a way to move the rigged arm on one of the instances and have that carry over to the other 9 instances? The arms should all move in tandem. One bone at a time is very tedious.

i was inspired by bioshock to try and figure out how they make blood look so real. After a long time fumbling around with photoshop, to get a good looking liquid surface tension normal map, i think i got a fairly good result. The key though that I found out was blood doesn't have a white or red specular highlight, it's blue. Anyways, here's the results of my testing. BloodStain.zip BloodStain.mov

About twelve years ago, when CD's were a hot new technology, I had a client who needed a logo/avatar for a "CD Studio". "The Bean" suddenly appeared as a doodle in the margin: a blobby character with pipestem arms and legs, no features, surfing on a CD with a stack of three over his head. He was never submitted, but I have somehow retained a fondness for him. Over the years, I have built, and re-built The Bean in evey 3D app. that passed through my hands. Now it's A:M's turn.

Not too far back there was a thread here about deleting Pose Sliders. Now I can't find it. I can delete in the Relationships Folder, and in Actions, and in Choreography Actions. But the slider still shows in the drop-down list. Can someone point me to the thread?

Superman takes on the size changing Super Mega Fox. The Superman model was from the Extras DVD. I originally was going to render this in toon style but I thought it turned out rather well here. My mom gave me this stuffed alien along time ago I decided to draw it. Working on an Animation for my senior project. This is the Bellato's Massive Armored Unit (MAU) The "Catapult" I'm plannin on having a desert backdrop with multiple other Catapults falling in from air support and having returned enemy fire. Hello, been a while, I recently used A:M to build a mockup of a networking proposal for a presentation in my networking protocols class. This was kind of a last minute thing which is why it's so unfinished. I don't really have a use for it since I'm done with that class so I figured I'd let 'yall have it. Background info: I used the models to go transparent to show the placement of the networking cables in the walls, it got a wow out of the class and a "overachiever" comment from a peer. total construction time: 4 days. machines used: Powermac G5 A:M v15, Xeon PC A:M v14. download: Office ~2.1MB a few images:

I'm trying to put together a portfolio and I want to thank you guys for all your help and crits. I think I'm almost there. This is really an extended topic from the KeeKat's Secret and Lypsyching the cowboy where I asked the question on lipsyching methods. I've been tasked with creating several rooms. Here's my first room using AO. Before this project, I've never really used anything but normal lights (I've never used radiosity or AO before). One thing I notice is how grainy the whole thing looks, despite using some okay settings for sampling and passes. Also, it's very bright at the top, which sort of blows out the ceiling area and ceiling fan. I wasn't expecting that. I'm unsure how to make the lighting more even.
