well this is my first model i've ever made. very simple, but tell me if there's anything to make it better. oh yea, how do you render .jpg or just img format? all i've got it to render in is movie format... and can you change the transparency settings and stuff on the materials included with the CD? anyways, here it is: vase.mov

I couldn't figure out something to do in A:M so I decided to to an aspirin bottle animation...it's a really old punchline, but it was a great excersise for squash and stretch, and arc movement (sorry for the bad quality) Aspirin.zip

Ta da! If you're wondering why I made him flat and didn't just make him 3D and toon render him, it's because I'm trying to capture the style from How the Sith Stole Christmas. Here he is. Now just gotta make a side version, a back version, caped versions, shadow versions, and a 3D version for hard shots. Phew. LOL. I need some C and C. And by the way, Merry Christmas everyone!

W.I.P. I showed this model (actually pictures of this model) to the attendees of the most recent MAAM user group meeting in Philadelphia PA. I did not have the wire frames to show at the time so I have posted them here today. I have been trying to settle on the overall look of my project and I am leaning towards an toon-lined/ semi-realistic style. This is still a WIP. I have yet to complete a number of things with this model that I intend to complete. Such as: Costume changes. Adding hair to the model. Finishing the rigging and smart skinning of the model. Applying textures to the model. Any questions, comments, and/ or constru…

Well, it's been years, but I finally started on my first female character. Let me state first off that the character I am supposed to be modeling is supposed to be small breasted, but for some reason they got modeled bigger. I am quite serious when I say I tried to model them smaller and ended up with her looking slightly more voluptious. I will be working on reducing the breast area when I make the actual character. This version will be my female base for later use anyway. This isn't done yet so please keep that in mind. I had trouble getting this far with the model. I think modeling only males has hampered me in this area. Comments and suggestions al…

I'm working on my first model of a human figure, that kind of thing. But I've run across a problem. Could anyone help me? Here's the problem: when I copy flip attatch the half of my face that I've got, it comes out with missing splines, patches, and cp's that make it look normal. Here are some pictures. Maybe you could help me based on those? CAPTION: half of face. 2nd Caption below: After copy flip attatch.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this - I tried the new users area but no response. I'm trying to mimic Coopers tutorial. I started with the nose and rotoscopes as he did. I get the general concept but I'm really struggling with a few parts around the nostril. I realize some of this is just learn by trial and error but I could really use some suggestions, I've hit a brick wall on this. Here is a pic, note especially the arrowed areas, but the whole thing in general needs work.

I was working on an opening slide for a presentation, and tried using particles and the water material. Started out OK but later frames in the render had a strange flickering effect. This was rendered on a farm. There is no pattern to the flicker related to a specific machine in the farm. David dustglasssmall3.m1v

Here's a model I'm working on from my Bugbots comic. Some of you have seen other work on this project, and I had a whole website at www.bugbots.com but I recently lost my free webspace so it's on hiatus. However I've been meaning to work on modeling Skarab, the main character, and here's my work so far. I'm going to be doing the eyes based on Dave Simmons great eyeball tute on the ARM. It's so simple and so effective I can't believe it! However I'm concerned that the eyes will look too "real" compared to the skin. I still need to work out some of the angularity in the splines and I'm open to suggestions for tweaks. The character is half insect and half human so …

This is the first time I've animated to sound. It took about 20 hours and I think it turned out pretty OK. It's for the next "10 Second Club" animation contest at the end of the month, so if you have any crits I'll get them fixed before then. BTW the movie clip is from "Anger Management". 1.7 MB Mpg-1 (sorry Maccers)

We don't all have broadband so may I politely suggest to people posting images directly into the forum messages that you take some steps in reducing the size of them - use thumbnails with links off to full size images somewhere else if necessary. And by size I mean keep them under 50kb. People like me just aren't going to sit around for 5 minutes waiting for the images to download! If I did I would never get through the forum posts! Cheers

After staring at the computer screen for quite a while, I have it! (Eureka?) I've decided to make a spoof of a movie. It will probably hilariously funny to my friends and me, but leave other people thinking "What???" But I'm getting off topic. so, its a spoof on mission: impossible (movie, not TV series)...with pants and stuff @ a department store. There, I said it. =P Just in the beginning now, however. Plot is not secured yet, so suggestions are very, very welcome. I am re-watching the movie tonight to refresh my memory. Here is a simple pants model, which I can modify to make other pants.

Hi! I have this character maybe some have seen in a couple tests i posted. Anyway i put up a fair amount of work in this head ( and i am pretty slow), and made a lot of muscle poses for the face. I made what i think is a common mistake by not so experienced users, the range of my poses don't go extreme enough. I have to go back in the poses and exagerate way way more. I would like comments and crits before digging in again. Also i would like tricks or advices on making poses with scaling included. I mean by that having the whole jaw area scaled up with an extreme smile, or a very exagerated drop jaw, or one orbit and eye area scaled up when questionning.…

I'm working on a movie called Squirrels, but it isn't an animation feature. I'm going to be using Animation Master to create all the killer squirrels in the movie, but it is a live action feature. Its about a chemical waste spill in a local forest, infecting the squirrels living inside it. They become violent and homosidal (sp?)...a group of people have to sneak in undetected and nuke the forest before the infection spreads. Summer 2005 Squirrels 2: Apocalype COMING SOON!

Hello folks, Recently I have embarked on working on my modelling and animation skills, so I decided I would produce some animations and models based off of something I'm big fan of. Basically this is a head of one of the robotic heroes (Toa) from the LEGO toyline "Bionicle". www.bionicle.com Enough about what it is, here it is! Its not much, but for a beginner modeller this is a big step up for me.

I was thinking about how I'm starting to get into building structures and said "well, Willy Wonka's factory has many interesting shapes and structures.." Not only that, but it'd be really fun to make the candy machines and even just the building itself! I started by planning to sketch out some concepts of what's going to be in the building. I've scanned my first one and posted. I'm excited just thinking about this..

Here's a screen capture of the problem. I just can't seem to figure it out. As you can see the right bicep rotator is not orienting like the right bicep rotator target. I'm just wondering if anyone else is having this problem. I've tried it in versions 10.5, 11.0 and 11.1 and I get the same thing. Thanks.

Kevin is new character I've been working on. Here's a very short and very rough little animation to test his facial setup - the brows are yet to be rigged. I fancied a change in style and wanted to go for something more cartoony so I set about building my very own muppet. This has been a tinker project for the last month or so with other things taking up the majority of my time so progress has been a little slow. I managed to decypher and implement the bones facial rig that Mr Navone and Mr Freeman have been flaunting. For anyone wishing to give it a go I can only say that: a. it's an absolute beauty b. once you start to build it, it becomes very …

Hi, guys. It's been a while. 8 month project and not yet over. I've worked with Dr. Eric Drexler to design and animate a nanotechnology device of the future. We are not just making science fiction pictures. This is as real a design as we can make it even though it will be ten years or more before we can build it. Dr. Drexler has three published books in nano and is considered by many to be the father of this industry. He co-founded the Foresight Institute, www.foresight.org The device of this animation is a desktop factory which can take in acetylene, tear it apart and create product from the atoms. I have always been interested in nanotechnology since I read …
