Only two Animation Showdowns got off the ground in August but here are my four-hour efforts: Queezy: Our character had to be so sick he had trouble standing. I never really got the counter action of the arm working right. Mirror: Actually the topic was "You lookin' at me?" but it was defined as a character reacting to a mirror. So that's what you get. Hey Guys, This is one of these "good from far" deals. I noticed that there aren't a lot of realistic cars available in AM and so I did this as a test to build my modeling skills. I really didn't do justice to the vehicle as I simply slapped a decal on for the lights and didn't really care much about the materials and stuff. I didn't even add door handles. I am hoping my next one will be better. I really learned a lot by modeling this car. This one was done strictly with rotoscopes and a lot of artistic shortcuts. Hello All, I have a situation where I have created a walk cycle and want my character to wave and turn his body during and after the cycle. The problem is that as soon as I move any bone which is keyed in the walk action, it wipes out all the previous keyframes from the action for that specific bone. So, for example, the feet are cycling quite nicely along a path and if halfway through I move one of the foot control bones just slightly, then that specific bone no longer cycles normally. (I hope this makes some sense). Can someone help me out here? Thanks, Eugene

New to AM: I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this, but I know this is the only one I can post a pic. Usually after saving and then reopening a project will this glitch occur. Upon reopening, I may see some artifacts or slight changes in alignment that I want to correct (another glitch?) When I try to move the CP's or the CP Bias points, the Bias handles jump way off the working area and can't be brought back in line. I have to shut down, not save and start over. This is to anyone whose work belongs to a label, or anyone who had used pre-recorded music from a commercial band that is carried by a label. Now, in the past for some film work, I have used commercial music and had to go through the artists, their label, ascap, and bmi to get written permission to use the music for our production, along with paying a one time fee (or in some cases no fee as long as we listed everything in the credits). Hey gang, I've been slaving for quite a few months this year trying to get a animated short ready to go for a film festival and boy is it tough. My friend wanted a new cowboys t-shirt, but he didn't want to pay a lot for it, so he asked me to model him something with Dallas Cowboy stuff on it. Hi, I am a High School student. I am having a problem with my action in the Choreography window. Everything is fine in the Action window, he will along the path. My character is our schools mascot. I am just trying to make “Rebel Man” walk along a simple path. The problem is he follows the path in the Choreography but his feet do not move. I already tried removing the action from the Choreography and dropping it back in. I also already checked my Crop Range and the Chor Range. I would greatly appreciate any help. for those of you how have not read the book there was a poisonous gass called "black smoke" so i'm trying recreate how it was described in the book heres my first attempt [attachmentid=17166] i didn't quite get it the way i wanted its suppose to stay low to the ground and it moves fast so people cant outrun it it is also suppose to come out of a missile from a cannon on the tripod and then come out of the missile but i cant quite seem to get the effect i want black_smoke.zip

It's been a while since I posted anything in this area. Here is a clip of a case we have been working on for a long time. The Lawyer had to go off for military duty, so it was on hold. We were not happy with the vehicle interaction from the image perspective we had, so we decided to try a different image. Originally I had modeled the environment from a satellite photo and was able to use it for multiple views in Live action. It was a compromise all around. I decided to model the environment to suit the image, which results in strange looking modeled topography, but looks right in the final product, which leads us to where we are today. The …

I found some files of martial arts wizs that display the talents of some respected stunt people in hollywood before they became so hot they don't need reels of their work anymore... I'm not sure if their is a law against rotoscoping to someones actions on video, but it's good practice for me, since I stink at animation... Maybe I should just make an online comic-book instead of trying to flesh things out in animation. By no means am I finished with it--having problems with getting the hands to stay put--FK. Hey guys, I finished modeling the unhatched egg...now I have the rig started. I'm using a format I haven't used before, but it seems interesting and efficient (jason osipia?). I learned this through other people's project files and stuff.... the actual rig on the egg is standard. (IK legs, FK Arms). I realized I made a mistake on the decal after I put it on...I wrote "right forearm rotate" twice and I didn't write "right bicep rotate" at all...gotta fix that I'll also post up a shot of the model in it's neutral pose again...

I started on a learning project. I want to light a dance floor in a scene. Just starting to play with lights and the effects they have. I can see in my head the dance scene in Saturady Night Fever how the floor lit up. In a couple of test of placing a light under the flooring in the scene the light was not bright in the middle of the bulb. I can not the effect I want. Anyone have a suggestion? I have included a test shot. The trim rings are set for the colors of the lights and used as a guide. But as you can see the light is dark in the center of the light where it should be the brightest. What am I doing wrong? Steve

this is basically a couple of decals..one for displacement then one for color on a small grid. The other object is a prop from the cd and the sky is a rotoscope from the cd. I'm working on a movie called Squirrels, but it isn't an animation feature. I'm going to be using Animation Master to create all the killer squirrels in the movie, but it is a live action feature. Its about a chemical waste spill in a local forest, infecting the squirrels living inside it. They become violent and homosidal (sp?)...a group of people have to sneak in undetected and nuke the forest before the infection spreads. Summer 2005 Squirrels 2: Apocalype COMING SOON!

I rigged a simple mechanical model to rotate two arms. This model will be multiplied in an action 10x. Is there a way to move the rigged arm on one of the instances and have that carry over to the other 9 instances? The arms should all move in tandem. One bone at a time is very tedious.
