Is there a plugin or add on that allows you to print the PWS and its contents? For example I have a character with several decals and maps and settings that I would like to save in print form. I am saving all this information to prevent data loss. I have backups on several machines and back up drives but I am old fashion and would love to create a notebook with all the characters and sets and props information. Steve

Inspired by the short animation by matricks (and follow up film by Xtaz) I made my first kamikaze run at animation. Learned a lot in the process , such as how difficult it is to create convincing motion as well as how obsessive/addictive this sort of activity can be. Fun Stuff!!! Thanks to all the respondents. Here are the results (as of 2/24/2006 7:30 AM EST) in graph form (engineers like graphs). When the results are listed by category: Hobby-15 Freelance-8 Limited Freelance work-3 Freelance AM Main tool-3 Contests-2 Other-2 AM at Work-1 After combining the categories (Hobby & Contests) (Freelance, Limited Freelance work, Freelance AM Main tool) I was surprised to see the percent of people using A:M for paid work. I was going to play with V14 A2 but it would not cooperate so after using the terrain editor plugin included in 14 I went back to v13 and played using a spline as a path (shift pick) to do this..toonnation material, clouds from cd etc terrain.mov here's the project minus the images which could be skipped trial.zip

Only two Animation Showdowns got off the ground in August but here are my four-hour efforts: Queezy: Our character had to be so sick he had trouble standing. I never really got the counter action of the arm working right. Mirror: Actually the topic was "You lookin' at me?" but it was defined as a character reacting to a mirror. So that's what you get. I just made another model for fun and am having a problem with heirchy (or however you spell it) The pics are posted below of the bone's points and the actual PWS display....My problem is I want to create a bone that makes both the eye and the thigh move forward, the the end point is facing down, so how would I do this? I know what you're thinking. Use fall off..for some reason, even if I hide everything but the eye, the fall off still effects the leg a bit..So, in conclusion, I want the "thigh" bone to control the eye and the thigh, along with the eye control the eye, lol EDIT: The leg isn't connected to the eye, just so you know

This is to anyone whose work belongs to a label, or anyone who had used pre-recorded music from a commercial band that is carried by a label. Now, in the past for some film work, I have used commercial music and had to go through the artists, their label, ascap, and bmi to get written permission to use the music for our production, along with paying a one time fee (or in some cases no fee as long as we listed everything in the credits). Hello All, I have a situation where I have created a walk cycle and want my character to wave and turn his body during and after the cycle. The problem is that as soon as I move any bone which is keyed in the walk action, it wipes out all the previous keyframes from the action for that specific bone. So, for example, the feet are cycling quite nicely along a path and if halfway through I move one of the foot control bones just slightly, then that specific bone no longer cycles normally. (I hope this makes some sense). Can someone help me out here? Thanks, Eugene

I found some files of martial arts wizs that display the talents of some respected stunt people in hollywood before they became so hot they don't need reels of their work anymore... I'm not sure if their is a law against rotoscoping to someones actions on video, but it's good practice for me, since I stink at animation... Maybe I should just make an online comic-book instead of trying to flesh things out in animation. By no means am I finished with it--having problems with getting the hands to stay put--FK. I started on a learning project. I want to light a dance floor in a scene. Just starting to play with lights and the effects they have. I can see in my head the dance scene in Saturady Night Fever how the floor lit up. In a couple of test of placing a light under the flooring in the scene the light was not bright in the middle of the bulb. I can not the effect I want. Anyone have a suggestion? I have included a test shot. The trim rings are set for the colors of the lights and used as a guide. But as you can see the light is dark in the center of the light where it should be the brightest. What am I doing wrong? Steve

Here is a screenshot of the place in the Property panel where you can swap your model in the chor for another model. At the very lease, both models must have the same bones and bone naming convention. If the first model uses an animation rig, the replacement should have the same rig installed.[attachmentid=12459]

made a block then use dup wizard to made a wall 5 by 5 pick center 9 blocks and group decorate blocks made second object slightly larger than a block decorate new chor turn off gravity put wall in chor make path through center of wall add second object constrain to path select block wall in muscle mode click on group in model in chor right click cloth wizard crank up stiffness ( more than i did) goto chor in pws right click simulate spring system you get object 2 knocking out center blocks adjust gravity at point of impact..(this feature is new to this idea) render yes that is my ugly mug on wall wearing hash t-shirt old hash t-shirt…

Started experimenting with building landscapes, added a Ptero, and made a few dozen 20-sec. renders this weekend with the Ptero flying around. This morning [Monday] I'm trying to fine-tune things and the rotoscopes disappeared. I get a plain black background. Camera_02 had a strarfield roto. It too. is black. But, if I make a screen snapshot, the roto is there. I tried adding a new camera. It also will not see a roto in a movie render. I removed all the rotos and went with the default pale blue backgrounds. Screen shots see the blue, movies are black. I tried closing and re-starting A:M, then my computer. So far...nothing. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Mid-aftern…

Not too far back there was a thread here about deleting Pose Sliders. Now I can't find it. I can delete in the Relationships Folder, and in Actions, and in Choreography Actions. But the slider still shows in the drop-down list. Can someone point me to the thread?

Hi, I am a High School student. I am having a problem with my action in the Choreography window. Everything is fine in the Action window, he will along the path. My character is our schools mascot. I am just trying to make “Rebel Man” walk along a simple path. The problem is he follows the path in the Choreography but his feet do not move. I already tried removing the action from the Choreography and dropping it back in. I also already checked my Crop Range and the Chor Range. I would greatly appreciate any help. i was playing around with hash today and decided to try to make diffrent sets and lighting since im still not good at making people just decided to throw a chracter in there from the cd took about 8 mins to render used volumtrics with particles for the dust was trying to to get kind of moonlight night type of thing not sure if its the color or something else but something just seems bit off any helpful hints? I rigged a simple mechanical model to rotate two arms. This model will be multiplied in an action 10x. Is there a way to move the rigged arm on one of the instances and have that carry over to the other 9 instances? The arms should all move in tandem. One bone at a time is very tedious.

Hi! I have this character maybe some have seen in a couple tests i posted. Anyway i put up a fair amount of work in this head ( and i am pretty slow), and made a lot of muscle poses for the face. I made what i think is a common mistake by not so experienced users, the range of my poses don't go extreme enough. I have to go back in the poses and exagerate way way more. I would like comments and crits before digging in again. Also i would like tricks or advices on making poses with scaling included. I mean by that having the whole jaw area scaled up with an extreme smile, or a very exagerated drop jaw, or one orbit and eye area scaled up when questionning.…
