Well, im back to teaching Martial arts and personal training. My master is putting together a fight choreography scene for a internet movie, and I though I take the time to mess with Hash again. See if I can put together a fight scene in 3D. So I still need more time to polish the model and tweak the bump map on the torso. More nurnnys on the sword. Been awhile, and rehashing the things I know about hash. So this is my spare model that I am redoing, I have another I want to use, but using this one to figure my way around. If anyone remember my old project will remember Erica, I haven't given her new hair yet, thats next.

Well, here it is, it took quite a while due to this short being, basically, my first shot at about everything in A:M and that I was also busy with other things. I think everything came out nicely and I would like your comments and suggestions. Alright, well here it is...

Here's a rough render of a the first two scenes of a movie I'm creating for our booth at a trade show in Vegas next month. I've been working here as the one-man art department since January and we'll have a couple of big plasma screens showing this piece along with some demonstrations of game play. I've got a rough sound track for the first scene here but it's not included at the moment. I want to get the timing better. This piece is going MUCH smoother than a thing I was working on a few weeks ago. There was something buggy with that piece that I kind of figured out with the help of Noel at AM Reports, but ultimately we decided on a hand-animated approach inste…

Hi all, I've been pecking away for a bit, and came up with this. Please c&c about it. I'm interested in hearing about the shoulders and hips-are they workable? I've thought about stitching a spline across the chest into the deltoids to help definition, also one on either side of the center line to better define the abs. I 'm modeling him bald so I could use the hair feature, but I'm thinking of adding 'hanks' of conical hair splines for a simpler, toonier look. Some of the included models in AM seem to have these hanks 'stuck in' any wich way-this animates/renders OK? Thanks in advance for your help. Ww (Brian)

Hello all. My two questions are... 1) How do we model/animate a natural moving/looking/behaving METAL CHAIN? Complete with links, and all.... what's the best way? or short cuts? tips? tricks? actual pre-made model someone might have to wanna give? And... 2) How many passes are suggested for a BROADCAST QUALITY slightly-more-than-good end product (maybe just under great, but above pretty good). Okay, maybe three questions.... 3) Anything I should know about final format for editing in Final Cut Pro HD (on the Mac), with the desire for an HD or WIDESCREEN compatibility? Many thanks in advance for your help. -Jim

Hi everybody, I'm 13 and got A:M about a month ago. I've gone through the tutorials and just started modeling and animating on my own. Here is my first model of "my own." I'd love to hear some feedback (yes, I know there's a lot of creasing. I'll try to fix it.) It is supposed to be an ape's head. Thanks everybody, David

This is the movie I needed render help on a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately it's still large, 13megs, but it's two minutes and has sound. I could probably get it smaller, maybe with better audio compression. There are a number of rough edges but considering the circumstances I'm pretty happy with it. I may tweak it a little and re-render it for the reel but for now this is it. However crits are welcome. ISD Games promo movie

Ok, this is another image I started for the "mars" contest. But the art gig I was working on at the time did not allow me the time to finish it up to meet the contest deadline. So here is the "wip". Lots to still do.. like seaming the model together. The sphere in the bottom left is where his helmet goes. Comments always welcome. Thanks William

The prototype for this model (including the texturing) is hanging in my garage. shovel renders I toyed with the idea of simply using a photo of the blade to decal the texture but I've been forcing myself to use more complex materials because I'd like to think that dealing with the pain of tweaking procedurals, builds character. I did use colour samples from my reference photos in the materials.

For a re-make of a character picture portfolio I made years ago, which is being redone in full 3D, I am required to re-create the car that she owns. However according to her story she owns a Slimbikini Miablo VS, which would be a complete take-off of a Lambourgini Diablo. However, I decided to create a car design that would be unique, while still borrowing some of the design ideas of the Diablo. And because of my usual "Must document everything" nature, I still have every single render I created for this vehicle, and I thought it would be something to share. First of all, the original image from the Portfolio: http://members.shaw.ca/nekosei/others/Picture3…

Hello friends. I just finished one of my latest models. It is a "design" mobile phone I made just for fun. I had no idea of how it would en up like, but I don't think it ended up that bad. The challenge in this model is that every corner is beveled (perhaps to much in some places). Anyway, let me know what you think. Okay looking or ugly as sin? Regards Stian [attachmentid=10051]

The file attached here shows the start and ending frames of a two-second clip of my alter-ego, Danbuster Cameronean Leadboot. He is posing for the camera in his own fun-loving crazy little way. It was intended for my avatar, though only a few frames now exist because of the limit. The wild blond hair is a hair emitter. I had to do it like that, because it was too difficult to accomplish fuzzy hair that sticks straight up using a mesh (as I have with my other models). The fur on the body was accomplished by using a fairly rough and low-scale bump map. The hair is the problem. In preview mode, it renders fully shaded. Here, in the rendered file, the first fr…

I finaly decided that it was time to tackle all those scary things like constraints and channels and get down to some animating. So I'm sort of going through the animation bootcamp setup. So here's a first animation with a ball. Pretty basic. Please critique as harshly as you want, especially with timing and weight and just whether the ideas, as simple as they may be, are comunicated or not. Thanks! http://media.putfile.com/helium35

One of the new users wondered if I try to do a walk cycle on this guy so I thought I would give her a go. This is very rough and in shaded mode. I am concentrating on the legs and feet right now. I haven't done any weight or secondary motion except on the feet. lots of work to do on it as time permits. I was watching the scene in jurassic park where the trex is chasing the guy with the flare. I haven't watch that movie for a long time and still is state of the art. I am looking forward to some feedback. Ken Helsip is kind enough to let anyone who wants the trex, to download it as soon as he checks the file out. It rigged with tsm2 and …

I made this card just for the hell of it. I wanted to try some front projection so I grabbed an older character of mine and used a family friends' picture and added the "Christmas" part. The funny thing is they liked it so much they are going to send it as an E-card, haha. I blurred out their face because I didn't really think they'd want everyone seeing them. Thanks for looking. Here's a 3-4th view in the chor too.

Hi larry - loved your character so much as shown in this thread http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?s=&sh...ndpost&p=149036 (and I was coincidently working on animating a flame for myself) - so here is a test movie with project I decaled the yellow flame part with an animated sequence - used distortion box in an action to change shape over time, & I varied color over time, - one could also play with varying ambiance, transparency, roughness for sparks, etc - use a better flame sequence for the decals - etc, change glow parameters in chor. hope this helps some to get you going (if you haven't already) Fire.zip fire.mov

Well, I had an idea while I was out supporting the tabaco industry at work today. It was to make a short film of models made up with primitive shapes. I don't know if 3d shapes are primitive, but that is what i am doing, basic shapes, and such. So far I have done...........Arnold Squarezeneger......... [attachmentid=12366] I have started on Vin Diamond, as you can tell under the objects in the project work space, and still have to do Brooke Spheres, and rig of course, and I guess it would be good if I came up with a story line, and a script, and probably a setting for the script that I have not come up with yet, or the story line........... And man …

The theme here, for me, was a sort of political cartoon in CG. It's title is Heaven's City Desk It's purpose was twofold... a tribute to my Uncle, George Murray, and a tribute to the fallen heroes of the "Fourth Estate" from last year. This turned out way better than I had any right to expect. I'm working on a large, beaux arts style, arch that needs a keystone with a classical human figure carved in it. Looking for inspiration on the Web, I came across a free 3D model of a nicely proportioned and posed female figure, unfortunately in 3DS format. After waiting almost 8 hrs. for it to import into A:M (47,000 patches, 8.3 Mb model) I knew that I couldn't add any new splines to the model since finding patches and aligning normals took a LONG time. All I could do was apply aaver's normal map material and render out a rotoscope. Using the rotoscope as a guide, I built surrounding splinage to smooth…

as I read through the newton physics and rebuild notes I had a thought. An hour and a couple of old models later I got this. Basically I took simple models and used the rebuild plugin to create panelled versions. I thought it was cool and potentially useful for high tech backgrounds, although it does waste a lot of patches. [attachmentid=14460]

Hey, I just wanted to say that I was a little to hasty when I got all sore about the forum a few weeks ago. Yesterday I used A:M for the first time in like 2 months, anyways, I noticed that it sparked my artistic side, and I did a lot better in my art classes. Sorry for the way I reacted two weeks ago, anyways, I hope you enjoy this simple render of 3 spheres. The ground for the first one is White with 200% diffuse and 100% reflectivity. The 3 spheres are 75% transparent and 100% reflective. This one was rendered at 1000wide 900high The ground for the second one is Black with 100% reflectivity, and the spheres are the same attributes as the first. Thi…

This isn't animation but it is related to the WIP of our project and I just thought some people might be interested. I recorded most of the voices in our studio at work a few weeks back. However, I had Ian Fairbairn in mind to record a couple of voices. I decided to travel to his home in London and record there. Not ideal but it worked out fine and the quality sounds on par with the studio recorded stuff to me. Ian was in several episodes of 'Dr. Who' and 'Timeslip' in the 70's and also 'The Avengers' and other similar British series. [attachmentid=15573] [attachmentid=15574]
