pixelplucker Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 WOW! Makes me want to finish off my low patch pigeon so you can add them to the roof tops Quote
bentothemax Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 WOW! Makes me want to finish off my low patch pigeon so you can add them to the roof tops I don't think he believes in low patch ... :] Great work! Absolutely stunning! Quote
animas3D Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Missed this thread and haven't done too much reading around here lately, so suffice to say, I missed this thread (and probably a lot of other great things). Anyway, just wanted to add my voice to the chorus and say "WOW!". Quote
agep Posted January 28, 2010 Author Posted January 28, 2010 Thank you guys! I have been playing with flash, and made a small interactive turntable, nothing fancy. Still a lot to do though The file is 40MB, so be patient:) The zoom is deactivated at the moment Nidarosdomen Cathedral - Flash 360 Screenshot Quote
MJL Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Monumental effort! Beautifully done. (Sustained Applause!!!) Quote
jakerupert Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Looks great! The zoom isn`t working yet, I presume? Else everything is working perfectly smooth and fast. Even the loading time was not that bad.... Quote
Tralfaz Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 That is just plain crazy Stian! The zoom feature didn't work for me either in IE7. Wished it did so I could zoom in to see all the incredible detail you have in your model. When you sleep at night, you must dream in splines and patches!! Al Quote
agep Posted January 28, 2010 Author Posted January 28, 2010 Thanks guys! The zoom function is deactivated at the moment since I have not rendered any higher resolution. When the cathedral is done, I promise I'll crank up the resolution Quote
Paul Forwood Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Colossal! Well done, Stian! Beautifully presented too. Quote
TheSpleen Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 I could make that. No biggie! Just give me 32 years and lots of beer. Your incredible! Can I have it? LOL Quote
agep Posted June 6, 2010 Author Posted June 6, 2010 Hi guys! This project is far from dead, its just slow progress. Anyway, I have finally completed the first row of statues on the west front. Two more rows to go. I have used parts of the GenMan as a basemesh Best regards Stian Quote
Fuchur Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Damn agep... where do you get the patience from to generate something like that? Everytime I look at it I just think: Amazing! *Fuchur* Quote
Paul Forwood Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 I agree. Just amazing! I am amazed that this project hasn't become so patch heavy that it becomes unstable. What is the patch count now, Stian? Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted June 6, 2010 Hash Fellow Posted June 6, 2010 Very impressive! Those saints are sitting down on the job. Quote
agep Posted June 6, 2010 Author Posted June 6, 2010 Thank you everyone for the kind words! What is the patch count now, Stian? 54 models with a total of 734,742 patches Quote
Darkwing Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Y;know, if he and Marcos were to team up and do a project, I think the universe would just plain and simply end because it couldn't take the raw awesome power of the two AM masters together. That's just my opinion Quote
animas3D Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Great work! For the texturing, did you use bump maps or displacement maps? Quote
Fuchur Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Great work! For the texturing, did you use bump maps or displacement maps? Most stuff is modelled... that is the crazy thing about that model "No cheating..." It has a patchcount that is more like a polycount. But by doing it in several models and combining it in the Chor he could work with that... *fuchur* Quote
agep Posted June 7, 2010 Author Posted June 7, 2010 Thanks! Great work! For the texturing, did you use bump maps or displacement maps?Neither. I used Normal Maps The walls are very simple textured. I made various tileable textures based on photos I have taken. These where applied to the model using BitMap Plus Quote
agep Posted August 14, 2010 Author Posted August 14, 2010 Update on the cathedral. I have made some more statues Quote
TheSpleen Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 not sure what words I should post. impressive is not enough. Perhaps...... Superhuman? Quote
Darkwing Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 now would be an appropriate time for some swear words I think, something along the lines of Holy F*** Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted August 14, 2010 Hash Fellow Posted August 14, 2010 Very impressive. You should make a "tour" video when you are done. Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted August 14, 2010 *A:M User* Posted August 14, 2010 I agree with Robert. I would love to see how you assemble this size of a model and then render it. Steve By the way just wonderful Quote
Darkwing Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that this is perhaps the most detailed/advanced model made with AM to date. If it isn't, it's gotta be in the top 5. Quote
TheSpleen Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 agep really should start wearing a cape. Quote
Gerry Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that this is perhaps the most detailed/advanced model made with AM to date. If it isn't, it's gotta be in the top 5. ...and all of them are Stian's! Quote
Darkwing Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 that is true. so I guess in effect, Stian literally is the Animation Master Quote
