Until last year, the greatest sorrow of my life was that my wife Alice and I couldn’t have any children. I wanted to try out the new rig on Shaggy. The rig works very nicely, I made an extensive use of IK FK switching, and it's IK FK OK friendly. The hand rig is great. I picked up the 11second club sound file, and I have put many hours since. Shaggys.mov Michel

I will post more info after I start making more progress. For now this is what I get when I fool around with the sweeper plugin after 5minutes of modeling, SSS, and AO. I recommend opening this image in Photoshop and viewing at 100%. There is some fine texture like detail generated by SSS that can only be seen at full res. On a side note I got that 010 error and it took raising the values in SSS to work around it. www.hdjibguy.com

I've spent the best part of the last two days trying to make the X-Machine float alongside The Sentinel. On the first try, it and the umbilical were part of the Beast model. There was a chain of 10 bones starting at Beast's pelvis and running out to the X-Machine. This didn't work because Beast has a rolling waddle, and this just yanked the machine left and right. It appeared to be firmly mounted on a curved pole which was bolted to the saddle. Also, moving the machine always kinked the chain and fine-tuning each bone was going to take years. Then I cut the machine and cable out of the model and broke it into two parts: machine and cable and Translated them to Beast. Same…

When I Copy and Paste between two documents [like between Model#3 and Model#7, but both in the same .prj] I usually get three copies stacked on each other. Any clues as to why that happens? Thanks.

Alright in the past 2 days i have modeled this. i think i spent more time then i should have. but it doesnt matter cause i like how it turned out. but i think it could be better if i just knew how to make better lighting. i dont know though. so if you have any tips about lighting. how i should light it up. or any things you think should be changed its all being taken. i wanna know what yall think.. my intentions are to enter it in the heros image contest when the time comes. i expected it to take longer then it did.

Hi Folks! After some time off, and some projects that we've done with other software packages, we finally did a project with A:M again. It's the return of the christmas rabbit! Hi - finished up 2 more teeth animations for the dentist - these two had more modeling involved, so they were more fun to do. They are located on my site in the lower middle section "3D Flash Demonstrations" - #2 and #3 are the new ones. The "non surgical tooth advancement" one was pretty challenging getting all the metal tooth components to work properly and look good. The "porcelain onlay" one came out pretty cool - I had to model the machine used to grind down the onlay and show it grinding it down and appear as if water was spraying on the inside - and use different color lights for the different stages. Just an image I've been working on with MJL. Somehow, I don't think I would win against this lady The Nimmee Aimee model was modeled by Jim Talbot for our very own "Tin Woodman of Oz" movie. I made a few adjustments, but it is still Nimmee. edit: I believe she was rigged by mtpeak2 and possibly textured by NancyGormezano, but I'm not sure about that. Anyway, Nimmee was truly a community effort.

I've had A.M. now for 3 weeks. Watching and reading tutorials here at the forums as helped me to better understand spline/patch modeling. Thanks all! I come from box polygon modeling before getting A.M. The biggest lesson I learned so far is spline continuity. Then the limited but usefull use of 5 point patches (knowing when to use them or not) and hooks. I still have got lots to learn but here is the wip so far. The creature is not tweaked on his anatomy, no reference used, just started at the feet and worked up from there to help learn spline modeling. Oh yeah, no head yet LOL.

I have a simple practice animation using Shaggy. He has about seven seconds of movement keyed in. For a while, the animation would play just fine. [in the Choreo. window/Skeletal Mode]. Suddenly, it has locked itself at 04:08. I can't move the slider under the Choreography, or, it just bounces back to 04:08. If I enter the numbers 00:00:00 and hit 'play', it jumps to 04:08. I've set the Choreography length in Properties. I've set the length at the top of the Project Workspace, and I've set the length of the blue bar in Choreography. Still, something is not right. I have a second Choreography going with Shaggy, and there's no problem.

I wanted to know if there is a way to change the two colors of the timeline in project workspace. There is the white and off-white making it hard to tell the limitations of the choreography. It is difficult to tell the difference.

FINALLY I started a new semi-time taking project rather than a bunch of one hour mini projects . Here are some sneek peeks of it: No particles and water (9 min @ 3000x1500) Particles on no reflections (Kill render time) Everything on(Raytraced took 1hour45min for this half of the image so I downcroped it to look nice) I've been working on it for about a day now. The grass is just a simple imageplane on a hair emitter same with the branches and leafs in the trees. The atmosphere is a skydome with global lighting at 50% and a sun with shadows at 50%. C&C welcome Photoman

Here's a preliminary test of one segment of the Christmas animation I'll be doing for the company where I work. This bit will come at the very end but I wanted to get it done early to make sure it would work. This is the material that's being interfered with by the model surface settings that I mentioned in the A:M v15 forum. the colors as they show here aren't the way they're supposed to look. This is the intro to a home movie I am sending to my girlfriend currently deployed in Iraq. The movie is a compilation of greetings from friends and family, updates on news from the home front (not really important here). The mood I was after for the intro was the surreal ambiance of fall foliage in dawn light. We are from Colorado so of course fall foliage means, for the most part, Aspen trees. The under-the-bridge is sort of her joke, claiming that I would probably spend her year away sitting under a bridge somewhere drinking whiskey. As far as the joke goes, I am sure she will get it. I 've been looking at some green screen tutorial on youtube and I thought I animation Gala doing the can can dance on my table. I done a short gala cancan dance and put the whole brackground in green then once the animation is done rendering I open made a short video clip of my table and exproted them into a chromakey software and this is what I came up with I'm still learning the other programe I was trying to see if this would be better then the motion tracking software. i made an object constrained to a bone, that was in frame zero. on some frame latter i removed the constrain, but the constrain on the object remove at frame zero. what can i do so that my object stay constrain till the frame i want it to be constrained to before removing the constrain.

Hello well I'm back after another PC crashed I need to upgrade anyway and all so I was messing around with the ghost hunting stuff I've gotten some weird evp's (electronic voice phanamena). Any way I working on a project was wornding can this be done I wanna scare the crap out of some of my family members. The I deal is to have a figure like shadow climbing up the wall going to the cealing and going down into that person who's sitting in the chair and play it back for them I'll tell them I got on the pc and show um.
